I’ve been using privacy screen protectors on my phones for the last 5 years and I love them. There’s a lot of curious people out there trying to see what are you watching or doing on your phone when it’s none of their business.
I love privacy screen protectors. My only problem is I only want to use them in certain scenarios like airport for example. it would be nice to have a reusable clip on or magnet reusable one so when u wanna show someone a vid or don’t need one u can take it off.
In defense of privacy screen protectors… Firstly, the demonstration was greatly exaggerated. Anyone who has eyes 11 inches apart probably has more pressing issues. The upper end is around 3 inches. Secondly, if you still have issues with the different pictures thing, hold your phone further from your face. This reduces the actual angular distance from eye to eye. Other than that, a solid video from a quality channel.
The only reason I use privacy screen protector on my phone because whenever I take a bus or in a public place like lining (in a supermarket) and use my phone the people beside me looks at my phone on whatever I am doing which is really annoying
Well, the biggest drawback I faced whil using these privacy screen protectors is; you realize your battery starts getting drained a lot quicker. Why? Because you’re always on full brightness as low brightness makes it harder to see. So full brightness is 30-40% lower on a privacy screen protector.
Great point! These comments have been really helpful. I have a cracked protector for an iPhone 10 and it’s now affecting my use. Also stores alway have the screens for phones one version lower or above haha it’s ridiculous

The thing I hate about privacy screen protectors is that it blocks the brightness of your phone. It acts as a dark tint which significantly reduces how well you seen your screen, especially on bright sunny days
I purchased a privacy screen protector for my iPhone, and it drove me crazy with the images jumping around as it does. The view is constantly shifting when you are looking at the phone straight on, and it causes a headache. I had to ditch it the same day I put it on, which sucks because it wasn't cheap. I wanted to love it, but they cause more issues than help.
I just removed the privacy screen protector from my wife's iPhone 12. I should have removed it months ago. The privacy protector dulled all the colors and dulled the screen brightness. We had to crank the brightness which sucked away battery power - and even then, the screen still wasn't vibrant. We paid big bucks for the iPhone 12's impressive screen then killed all the benefits by sticking the privacy protector over it. We'll just get a normal glass protector in future - or even just leave it as is.
I have no problems with my privacy screen protector, just installed it a couple days ago and it works perfectly fine. I recommend them if you’re indoors(buses, trains, etc.) with bright lights and lower you brightness if youre in a room with a little bit of light
Yikes! So glad I came across this channel and video! I was just about to go out and buy accessories/peripherals for the iPhone 12 Pro, and was thinking about getting the Belkin Privacy Screen Protector ($5.00/more than the non-privacy model), and now I’m going to reconsider. I’ve never used one or had one before. Thx very much for the head’s up on this subject!
The privacy screen protectors have a black colour filter to them. When applied to the phone, you immediately notice the difference in you screen colour. Didn't took even 2 min to conclude that I hate them on my iPhone 12. The worse is at night time when your phone turns on the yellow tint, and the colour of your screen goes from bad to worse!
I never noticed that before. They never hurt my eyes. I haven't used a privacy screen in years. I'm sure next time I use one, if I ever do again, it will kill my eyes...thanks haha great video as always.

The bloopers started when Val started editing some of the videos and is forced to watch the whole thing straight so she cuts them out.
I too have tried a lot of different privacy screen protectors. They’re all pretty much the same...they slightly darken the phone screen. I thought I could live with a slightly darkened screen but I can’t. Even the really good ones that darken ever so slightly I still know that my content could be way better without it. I choose brighter more vibrant content over privacy.
