The TOUGHEST screen protector for ANY iPhone? Mous Hybrid Glass Review

- So after all that, here’s what I’ve learned about Mous’s Hybrid Glass Screen Protector. It’s stupidly tough. Despite how thin it is.
If anybody is looking for a tough screen protector that doesn’t feel sticky, you should consider the hybrid glass. It’s definitely way tougher than glass and is ~almost as tough as a full PET screen protector.

At the end of the day, I would definitely recommend the Hybrid Glass over most regular PET screen protectors. Now between actual glass and Hybrid Glass? It’ll depend.
-What makes Mous's Hybrid Glass Special?-
When I first installed the Hybrid Glass, I was surprised at how thin the product was especially when compared to a similar product, the Sapphire Defense from Zagg.
Installation of the product was incredibly easy and I will say that Mous’s method of installation beats the frame method used by Zagg and is simpler than Spigen’s trat.
Now unlike Zagg, Mous is a little more straight forward when it comes to their product descriptions as nothing is infused, it’s just a layer of glass on top of polyethylene terephthalate or PET. I didn’t come across any issues with the adhesive as the edges of the screen protector didn’t show any bubbling, a problem you’d find on cheaper products.
Now what’s the benefit of this setup? Well, with the glass layer, you get smoothness and the “clarity” of glass and with the PET layer, you get impact protection. The “clarity” to me is a bit of a stretch since you’re still viewing your iPhone through the PET layer.
-Hybrid Glass vs. Regular PET-
Now there are THREE benefits (and two downsides) to the Hybrid Glass screen protector over the PET version. First of all, the Hybrid glass has the same smooth feeling as glass. My goto high impact plastic screen protectors is the one from Evolutive Labs and despite being very smooth, still has a slightly tacky feel to it.
The second benefit comes from the oleophobic coating. With the glass coating, you’ll get a slightly better fingerprint resistance for the first few months.
The third benefit is that the glass coating is going to offer better scratch protection than the PET version. My finger nails can actually leave marks on the plastic screen protector whereas the Hybrid glass stays clear.
Now the only con, when compared to the PET screen protector is that it ~might not be as tough. From my perspective, the thicker the screen protector is, more protection it’s going to offer. How much more protection will it offer? It’s hard to say given that both of the screen protectors I used in this video both took a stupid amount of punishment BUT the 100% PET screen protector took hits a little better.
-Hybrid Glass vs. Regular Glass-
So how does the Hybrid glass compare against normal tempered glass? It’s way more durable. I’ve shown that already. And safer as there’s almost no glass that goes flying around the so if drop your iPhone a lot, choose the Hybrid Glass over tempered glass.
Now the Hybrid screen protector is more scratch resistant than the regular PET one BUT this scratch comparison pales in comparison to the average tempered glass screen protector.
From my perspective, the scratch resistance is maybe around 5-6H where as the glass would be around 9H and regular plastic being around 3H. This is the first downside when compared to actual glass.
The second downside is the coverage. Glass can be formed, grinded and polished down to provide 100% coverage for your iPhone screen. You can’t do that with plastic so the edges of the iPhone are left exposed. Now as harrowing as that is, you just saw me drop my iPhone a ton of times and the iPhone’s fine. I was using the Mous Clarity with the Hybrid Glass and that case has oversized corners which helps with the screen protection.
The last thing I’ll mention is that even being incredibly thin, the edge will be noticeable especially if you’re transitioning from an edge to edge screen protector.

Could you make a video of how much of a benefit it would be to install a plastic screen protector and then a tempered glass one on top? Since plastic is good for shock resistance and absorbing vibrations and glass is good against scratches
I really like the smooth, soft, rubber like, feel of the hybrid. It also doesn't protrude beyond the edges of my very slim Google Pixel case. Highly recommended.
I know this comment is two years old but how is the screen protector holding up?
As a watcher & subscriber since your beginning, your videos excite, terrify, calm & reassure me about all my phones. It's kind of like the Ed Sullivan shows (yeah I AM old!) :-) I never even consider any new phone or related product until I have scoured your channel for information which might save me from a very expensive mistake. NO idea why any other channel would even TRY to compete as there is no comparison.
On another note, I even have used Monte as "live bait" in my attempt to get my wife to let me have a dog for company during the day when she still works (I am retired so home alone). That and even Wounded Warriors offered to get me a Service Animal but STILL no way she will let me have one so I have to come here just for my dog "fix". Please NEVER stop the videos as I can't find anything that offers all of the above along with honest entertainment (like the video where the cleaning crew came in lat at night when you were trying to shoot at the end of the video:-)

Just bought the case and hybrid glass protectors was very pleased with the case ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ the screen protector on the other hand.... well that’s a whole different story. (I do mobile phone repair) Just installed it, cleaned the phone before putting the hybrid glass on. There are so many stinking air dots all over the screen. I used to plastic squeegee it came with. To no avail, apparently those hundred of tiny dots are missing glue areas under the microscope. On top of that there are massive glue lines all over the screen and phone. So sadly $20 wasted and ⭐️
I will forever use the impact shield from rhino shield. I remember when you dropped that heavy metal ball on your iPhone 6 screen way back and I’ve been using it senses from my iPhone 6, my 8 and on all future devices!

It is a pretty nice screen protector, My complaints with the thing is that after awhile it gets SUPER wrinkled and can even break making you need a new one (okay that's fine) but it leaves some nasty residue on your screen that's super hard to get off. Otherwise, good for midifating scratches just replaced mine and my screen was so shinyyy (cept for the goo)
So the oleophobic coating isn’t as good as regular glass right? 🤔

Moid Khan - Hey, this video is too old for him to see your comment. You’re better off waiting and posting on the next one he releases (even if it is unrelated) or going through the website. After a week or two he stops reading the comments on his videos because he’s moved on to the next thing and he has WAAAAAYYYY too many posted on his channel to follow all of the comments.
He has several posted on screen protectors, but there are a lot of factors that go into the compatibility. He recommended that I try the Flolab 3D edge to edge tempered glass with a beveled edge for the iPhone XR, but wouldn’t necessarily suggest that same screen protector for ALL iPhone models.
If you don’t feel like waiting for to catch up with him, buy one that he suggests and try it out. From what I’ve noticed, most companies offer a free return window if you are unhappy... but keep a mous hybrid screen protector or the freebie from the case handy until you find one that fits your phone, needs, and case.
He mentioned the Flolab protector on his website.

Just a question about the OtterBox Defender/Pro and the Pursuit. I know you say that more materials mean more protection, but do you find that the plastic shell of the Defenders tend to scratch your phones? I've seen people say as much in the past, but I'd like to know if it's a widespread, worrisome issue. The thing holding me back from the Pursuit case is the slippery back, although it seems to have more side screen protection. What do you think?
Dust and debris will get between the case and the back over time. The Pursuit is a little better with the dust/debris (from what I remember). Both are going to be pretty tough...I think the biggest issue is going to be size...Defender is big, Pursuit is slimmer.

I decided to go with the Mous Limitless 4.0, so I go to order it and BAM! ALL SOLD OUT! contacted CS and they won’t be back in stock for another month! Do you know where I can get one elsewhere! Do you guys have one I could buy? In the first 3 weeks I managed to crack and destroy a Gear4 Piccadilly case. Their install was a breeze. I like it better than the Rhinoshield one because it's thinner.
