I sent a link of this video to Mike Waldt and he likes your turnings too and he subscribed. Would you tell me who manufactured your spindle gouges and the sizes? I am going to have to invest in a German to English dictionary, I really want to understand your descriptions. Please keep turning and posting your shared skills are truly appreciated.
Excellent project and clearly shown! Bit worried about the technique of letting the right end of the calipers touch the rotating wood though at 7.22 and 15.10! I can foresee a nasty accident happening there for the unwary!

It appears to be a mix of paste wax and mineral oil. Many turners use such a mix to keep sanding dust down. It also puts a beautiful shine on at the same time.
you don't have to wait 5 hours for it to dry like wood glue. 10 seconds later you can get back to work on project. And it fills cracks with sawdust wonderfully too, on turnings that is.

Wenn ich schon Höre Balsam-Terpentin ist leicht enzündlich dann weiß ich was ich nicht nehme. Nimm doch eiwach nur ein Öl was nicht schlecht wirt und gut is.
