  • I just got the Lee Precision Case Collator in the mail and wanted to try it out to see if it will be a welcomed addition to my reloading platform. In the past, I had to feed cases one by one into the tubes, which tends to take several minutes. Overall, this tends to slow down the operation. My main concern was that some of the cases would slide down upside down, defeating the purpose, as that takes some time to deal with. I was pleasantly surprised, as all cases were oriented properly, and quickly. Was it worth the $12? Absolutely. Oh, and FYI, the tubes hold 84 .45 ACP cases when full.
    ***KEEP IN MIND***
Because of the way you load your cases into the collator, you are giving up an opportunity to visually inspect each case prior to reloading. This is an important part of the process. Especially with straight-walled pistol brass, there isn't a lot of "hands-on" time. Usually, it goes from the bucket, to the tumbler, to the press. No case prep to speak of. It is HIGHLY recommended that you incorporate some other method of visual inspection BEFORE you charge and seat your rounds.
