Honestly, I would reload bullets as a job.
@@DeathClanners hell yeah, I'm wanna learn how so I can reload ammo that's not made anymore for a friend
😂
@DeathClanners sounds like a Hella cool job, until there is static...
I'm slightly amazed Lee still makes this thing. I still have an earlier version from 1985, bought it for around $100. I've done thousands of rounds through it. You should show the carousel with more than one round going through the stages. That's when this thing shines!
Good morning Ervin and thanks so much for looking at my content 👍🙏👍🙏. Glad to see one more Lee enthusiast. This particular short clip I opted for a slow mode to make the process more understandable. As you know, normally it goes much faster. Have a look at the link in the pinned comment for the complete view of the process on some 9mm or alternative, even more details for a .45ACP. I am sure you will like this. the .45ACP is a very detailed process and will benefit you if you have the same press. also lots of other clips on the channel on this press. have a great weekend.
I never used such a fancy contraption but I suspect the safest way in which to use this thing is to visually inspect the primer raising to the hole (or observe how perhaps you can see light through the touch hole initially but then not anymore as the primer is seated), and to also glance to the casing loaded with power to ensure both that there's powder in it AND that it appears to be at the typical level it always is.
You should not go on 'auto-pilot' when reloading, you should be doing everything intently and carefully, but in my mind provided you positively confirm there is both a primer and roughly-correct amount of powder in each round... you can get a pretty quick rhythm.
Primer seated in that one and there's powder in the other one, place bullet, CRANK. Primer seated and there's powder, place bullet and CRANK. Primer seated and there's powder, place bullet and CRANK. And so on and so on. If you do it for long enough, eventually you should be able to just eyeball a casing to see that "Wait... there's a little less/more powder in there than usual... I'll dump it out into the powder feed, hold the casing as the machine is CRANKED, and do whatever must be done to ensure that it gets back in line and gets powder/bullet like it's supposed to.
So it's 'auto-pilot,' in a sense, but if you're still paying attention to EVERY DAMN CASING being primed and fed powder, then you should never be at risk of a squib or an overcharged round. What would be dangerous is if you 100% relied on the mechanisms of the machine and ONLY focused on 'grab bullet, place, CRANK, grab bullet, place, CRANK, etc.' Only paying attention to the ONE manual human operation, and that is placing the bullet.
Any experienced reloaders want to share their experiences/advice?
@@normanmccollum6082 More accidents have happened with these high-speed turret presses than the single stage boys.
On top of visually inspecting charged cases before bullet seating, I throw a charge into my scale pan and weigh the dispensed powder with a manual beam scale after every 10-15 cases. I use zeroing plus check weights to verify scale calibration before I muck around with my powder measure. When I'm done seating, I grab a few rounds at random and check OAL with calipers, especially if there's no cannelure on the bullets I'm using. 10k+ rounds of various handloaded calibers and not a single squib or catastrophic explosion so far, brb gonna knock on wood.
I came to ask if this could do multi rounds ty for the answer.
They must have changed from 1985 then. They are complete junk now.
Why is this so relaxing? I need a never ending looping version.

I easily imagine reloading is more cost effective if you want a lot of ammo sooner, or shoot a lot more than the average person. I've been sitting on a 500rd box of 9mm i bought back in november. I think about 100-150 rounds have been used out of that bin
Hello David. Thanks for your comment and for sharing your thoughts. I doubt it is viable for anyone to reload with such low ammo consumption. Unless one is looking to get better ammo, in a sense that it would be customized according to specific handgun, reloading appears to be unreasonable. Well not unreasonable but commercially not viable. Take care and have a great week. 👍👍👍👍

Do you save a substantial amount of money by reloading?
Good morning dingus. Thanks for looking at the content. When reloading one saves money and most importantly increases the accuracy when shooting. when reloading one makes the rounds specific for the intended weapon and therefore accuracy is increased.
Prices of reloading materials have gone up but these are the numbers as they stand today:
Based on 1000 x9mm rounds:
€90 = CPRN heads.
€45 = Primers SP
€25 = Propellant
€00 = copper cases "free"
€160 = TOTAL cost for 1000 rounds
€290 = Price of Factory ammo 124grain FMJ selling at the moment.

Im looking to get one of these pro 1000 for my 9mm reload. But heard horror stories about not being reliable. Have you encountered them?
Hi Kurt. When I purchased my Pro 1000 it was the cheapest progressive press available on the market, still is up to this day if I am not mistaken. At around $300, it was great value for money. Now if people compare the lee to other presses such as those from hornady, dillon, or forster it is in my opinion wrong because they are on a different price level. It is a great press. it needs few tweaks, some as I have done and documented on my channel. In addition, Lee has now the new 2023 Lee Pro 1000 and they have for sure fixed lots if not all these small issues. Personally, I am extremely happy considering what I originally paid and the amount of rounds I have loaded. You get days that things don't work out but that you get with everything these day. Have a look at my detailed clip on some nice 45ACP or I also have another on 9mm. clips of modifications are also on the channel. ruclips.net/video/etEE3MgxAO0/видео.html
@@ReloadingMoreAD1966 they're still at $300 range at my Local Gun shop. But im debating if its worth the extra 300 for the 6 pack pro or save money and get the lee pro 1000
@@Krel-888 hard to say for sure. Some time I wish I have 4 stations instead of 3. Mostly because I like to add a crimp when loading 357 and 38.
3 dies have always served me well for loading 9mm rounds.
The 6000 is a nice piece of equipment that I am also considering but for now I cannot justify the expense because for my main pistol rounds 6 stations seem too much.
Go on a couple of forums and see what the community is saying about the 6000
Have a great evening.
@@ReloadingMoreAD1966 nice thought out. It'll be my first progressive. Been reloading on my single stage for my rifles only. I might have to use my single stage probably for a while on my 9mm just to get going and decide which progressive to go with. With the price of the 6 pack pro. My wallet doesn't agree yet lol
@@Krel-888 consider a Dillon progressive. A bit more pricey but extremely easy to upgrade if you decide to expand. Plus, Dillon’s customer service to second to none…. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve used them all.. But each manufacturer has its strengths… Hornady and Redding dies, Starline brass, Federal primers, VV powder, and whatever bullets your shooter likes best. For plinking, I like Berry’s for semi’s and Hornady bulk lead / Hard Cast for revolvers. For loaders, check out Dillon Precision.
Dang, you have to insert the projectile yourself? That slows it down a bit.
Good morning Noone, Thanks for taking time and looking at my content. It might be a little bit slower but not my much. This press can be fitted with a cheap original attachment that would place the bullet in position automatically.
Personally I find it better to place the bullet manually because I can use that motion to also visually inspect that the powder is in the case. I have a longer detailed clip on this press, link in the pinned comment. Have a look at that to see the entire process.
Take care and have a great day.
@@ReloadingMoreAD1966 Oh there is an option for automatic placement. Would have been a design flaw if there would not been a hopper for the bullets, because you can attach that to external power to automate the whole process.
@@JerryCrow Hi Jerry. Thanks so much for looking at my content👍🙏. The actual product supplied by Lee, the producer of these press is a system without any external power. You would manually place the bullets in a hopper and they are placed on top of the case mechanically, without any external power. the product is item 90894 and cost under $100. (Here is a link for the system but on a larger press . ruclips.net/video/xF1_oCImOfo/видео.html )
One can also find non original systems that work even better that are fully motorized and require even lesser effort to operate. Such systems range from $250 upwards.
Take care and have a great day
After doing it for awhile you speed up
You can alwsys upgrade bro but when I learned it was nice to do it with your fingers, you get a good alignment and if your press is a hand press you can feel better if anything went weird that wasnt supposed to as you seat the bullet into the casing

Good evening William and thanks for stopping by the channel 🙏👍 WI were much so appreciate your nice and positive comment. Take care and have a great week.
The people I know who reload don't really save money, because they just end up shooting more.
Hi. Personally I must agree with you, in part at least. Since I started reloading especially the first year or so, I shot much more. I slowed down and if I had to put a percentage I probably shot 25% more than I did 5 years ago. not that is relevant but since then I have also increased the number of different calibers.
in the end, personally and from my limited experience, I feel and I know that I am saving money when reloading. BUT most importantly, I have rounds that are more accurate because they are specifically loaded for my own needs and weapons.
Take care and have a great evening.
@@ReloadingMoreAD1966
I 100% agree with you on being able to make custom loads, and the obvious benefits to that; IMHO it's the #1 reason to reload. #2 being that you either save money by reloading your spent brass, or you buy yourself the ability to shoot more, both of which are good things.

After how many bullets does this machine pay for itself?
▶👍Good Morning. Thanks for taking interest in my content. Now this is an excellent question. I did workout the answer to your question months back for another member. Here are my own workings as follows:
🔶Based on 9mm setup only. (Changing caliber is approximately $100 addition, mostly dies and shell plate)
🔶ALL FIGURES & CALCULATION DONE January 2022 as follows:
$300 _ Lee Pro 1000 Press 9mm, ref. 90640.
$020 _ Lee Case Collator, ref. 90667.
$045 _ Lyman Ammo Checker, ref. 7833000.
$012 _ Dillon precision case lube, ref. 13733.
$055 _ Scale frankford arsenal, ref. DS-750
$050 _ Price estimate for a generic caliper.
$048 _ Price estimate for kinetic bullet puller.
$530 _ TOTAL INVESTMENT of above listed item.
$160 _ TOTAL Calculated price of raw materials to fabricate 1000 rounds type (CPRN-124gr) "brass cases free)
$300 _ TOTAL Average price for factory loaded ammo, 1000 rounds, 124gr.
🔶Therefore, excluding labor cost, I save $140/1000 Rounds.
🔶Therefore, investment of $530 / Savings of $140 = 3786 rounds.
🔶Therefore, after 4000 rounds I start saving $140 / 1000 rounds I send down range.
🔶🔶🔶 In short, after 4000 rounds I cover my investment cost.
Labor is the biggest cost
@@korodski it is labor intensive process. One must be committed, methodic and organized to safely reload and produce safe rounds .If I take under consideration the time needed, than it becomes far less economically viable to reload. Take care and have a great day

Our machines at mark 7 reloading are so much more efficient and way fast then doing it this way
Good morning Enrique. The Mark 7 press is a marvel of engineering. I have seen the Apex 10 in action and it is just so nice to watch. With that said, I think it would not be just to compare a $3000 press with the Pro 1000, priced at around $300.

Good one. 👍 👍 👍 😂 😂. Thanks for stopping by and making me laugh. Have a good look around my channel since there is much more on this press and caliber. Have a great day 👍 👍 👍
NOW THATS SATISFYING
Thanks for stopping by. Glad you like this👍👍. Have a great day.
How is the lee 1000 treating you? Had a few friends have problems with feeding primers and the turret not indexing correctly
Good evening RW. Thanks for looking at the content👍👍👍. Initially I had all sort of issues but after getting familiar with the press and making a number of changes the issues are almost zero. Have a look at the longer clips on this press and you can see it operating with no issues. the one .45ACP is more in detail. Links in the pinned comment of this chat.
Take care and have a great day.
People really forget how advanced of technology modern guns and bullets are.
Good morning and thank you for stopping by and finding time to leave a comment🙏🙏👍. This one is a little rudimental but works OK. Have a great weekend.
Still not enough. J wsnt a hugh techcbullet wity a tracking device in it 😂 or cool james bond stuff like that man
I was about to ask: "why not just buy more ammo." But then I remembered I'm a wood worker hobbyist.
Good evening and thanks so much for stopping by and having time to make a comment👍👍🙏. You have captured the sentiments of most of us. The majority do this as a hobby. Take care and have a great day

😁😁 Thanks for stopping by and looking at my content. take care and good day.
It would be cool to see dozens of bullets be made this way. I notice there is a type of automation that you can set up with that. It would be cool to see it all work together.
Good evening and thanks so much for stopping by and having a look at my content👍🙏👍🙏. In my pinned comment you can find a link to a more detailed video of this process, 2 actually, one for 9mm and another for .45ACP. They are not fully automated but I manage to get good numbers out of it.
Have a great weekend
I’m jealous I want one! Been reading the comments and this short was super cool/educational
Good evening Jason and thanks so much for looking at my content 👍👍🥇🥇. I am glad you find this interesting. BUT.. Don't be fooled by my non-education entertainment video that reloading is a mundane and easy operation. Reloading is a very dangerous affair and it requires lots of time, patience and restraint. Even so, mishaps can happen.. Take care and have a great weekend.
I can relate!!
Thanks for looking at my content. I understand you. When things run smooth it is so nice to watch. have a look around the channel because there is much more on this press. Have a great week.👍👍
Lead tips? I like this man even more because now I know he doesn’t own a shitty Glock.
Good morning Mark and thanks so much for looking at my content 👍🙏👍🙏. Without getting into the merits of the mentioned brand, I can tell you that in the future I have a couple of clips that it will feature the same brand. I can also tell you/confirm your statement as being correct. I have 7 brands of handguns but not one is the mentioned brand. Take care, stay tuned and have a great week. ▶ PS: Do have a look on my channel for much more. ... ruclips.net/user/ReloadingMoreAD1966
A couple of things here. While this Lee Pro-1000 operated smoothly this time, it doesn't always go to plan. I had one that was horrible at missing or flipping primers. If it misses a primer, it dumps powder into the mechanism and takes 10-15 minutes to get it completely clean again. I've gone to Hornady LnL's. While I like the case loading ability of the Lee, Hornady does have that option. Hornady's warranty is great. With the LnL, you can set your dies up once and not have to fiddle with them again if you are changing calibers. The inserts are about $6.00 per die. Dillon, however, one shell plate is $100.00.
As to savings, prior to the pandemic, I could load a box of 9mm for $2.50. I cast my bullets from wheelweights and scrounged my cases. Primers were $35.00/1000( so, 3.5 cents ea.), and the amount of powder was about a penny.
It's relaxing to reload, though it's not for everyone. But, during ammo shortages, when everyone else is panicking, you can relax, knowing you have thousands of rounds of ammo stockpiled. And, the components to make more.
Good morning and thanks so much from sopping by Battalion.👍👍 It is comment like your that make up keep creating content. not often dose one come at such great comment with excellent insight to all the community.
About the Lee press, I have had numerus issues and the primer flipping was a big one. Not to mention the cases being pulled back out or the shell plate holder cracking in a couple of occasions. I honestly share the frustration. On the one you see here I did several minor modifications and honestly it work almost 100% without any issue. Had a look at your channel and you struck me as someone that knows a thing or two about mechanics. If you get some time, please have a look at this longer clip for the Pro 1000 as it shows the process in detail. Here the link: ruclips.net/video/etEE3MgxAO0/видео.html
About the LNL press I had the pleasure of seeing that beast in operation at a friends place in Sicily on one of my trips. He is using the LNL for competitive shooting, specifically for 40S&W and he has only positive things to say about that one. it works extremely well and has a stronger construction compared to the Pro1000, as you would expect since he almost 3 times the price of the Lee.
Have a look at my channel as I have lots of DIY projects for the press and much, much more. Here is a link for the channel trailer: ruclips.net/video/ge0LNO4a03Y/видео.html . Take care and have a great day 🥇🚒👩🚒 🇺🇸 🇲🇹
@ReloadingMoreAD1966
Well....I wrote you a reply that seems to have vanished. I watched your other video on reloading the .45ACP. Well done!
Looks like you are much more organized than I am. I keep an eye on things, but I never thought of figuring out the entire weight of powder I was loading for. I just fill the hopper up and dump whatever is left back in my powder jug. I know about how many rounds I can get per pound. If I'm 3 or 4 each direction, that's pretty good.
I've been loading .223's lately. My charge was 20 gn. of 4198. I checked my powder drop on an electronic scale. 20.018gn. And that seemed to be very consistent. Accuracy on these is very good.
I saw that one of your friends said you are Ram. From your components, and profile, I figure you're in Malta. I don't know much about European reloading and shooting, other than Switzerland looks like a place I want to visit.
Keep up the Freedom Seeds! Al

Thanks so much for your kind words. I am situated in Malta so we have some limitation when it comes to space. here we have just one range open all year that allows pistols. take care.
@ReloadingMoreAD1966
Gotcha! I'm fortunate to be living in a Redneck county in Ohio. A lot of us here have a backyard range or have buddies that have one. It's not uncommon to hear gunshots coming from several different directions, especially on the weekends. I can't remember when someone was shot out here. It's been a while. Meantime, in Columbus, it's a daily thing.
I'd love to visit the Mediterranean to go scuba diving. I see pictures, and the water looks like crystal. You take care Ram.

Again, I wrote you back. It disappeared again! 😡
It's not your fault, but some stupid algorithm is intercepting my messages. Anyhow, I left you a message on your trailer. What caliber is the Italian (I think. Couldn't make out the make. Maybe Pietta?) six gun?
Damn fancy! I had to swap tools and hand press everything lmao.
Good afternoon and thanks for looking at the content and leaving a comment👍👍 I am happy you like this press. For me it is perfect because I not reload much, take care and have a great week.
A work of mechanical art!!
Good afternoon. Thanks so much for looking at my content 👍. I agree with you. Take care and have a great day.
I’ll take the lee 4000 because the lee factory crimp dies are a must
Thanks for stopping by. Honestly on the 9x19 and the 45ACP I do well with the set of 3. If you look closely at factory ammo of these calibers they are supplied without roll crimp. Take care and have a great evening

Good evening Bryce and thanks for stopping by the channel.👍👍
reloading is so satisfying to do
Good evening and thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment👍👍.. 100% agree with your statement. I love it. Take care and have a great day.
Reloaded for years on a single stage Lee… this would’ve been nice haha
Thanks so much for stopping by the channel and leaving a comment👍👍👌. Cannot argue with this being faster than a single stage. Nonetheless I appreciate a single stage and have 3 of those. My most favored being the MEC marksman press. Have a look on the channel for much more and much more longer clips. Take care and enjoy the rest of the day.
cool press will save you time and money on those hard to find rounds.
Good evening and thanks for stopping by.🙏🙏👍👍 Sorry for my late reply but I am trying my best to catch up to answer all. So far I am not managing well. Honestly there is savings but not that much, especially if you consider the time. But, it is a great hobby and when I reload I customize my rounds based on the weapon. This drastically increases the accuracy. Take care and have a great day.

I love reloading. My dad taught me how on his single stage RCBS. Quite a few times I got a little ahead of myself and bit my fingers. Good times.

Mental health warning . He's wearing gloves 😂😂😂😂😂
👍😁Good morning and thanks for looking at my content🙏👍. I started doing clips using these type of gloves from day one and then it became the norm when making a video. When I put the black gloves my mindset changes and I am in a sort of "Cinematic mode". Not to mention that on rare tasks they come in handy. Anyway. take care and have a great day🧤.
You missed the 2 days of getting everything running smoothly lol got the same setup
Good morning and thanks for looking at my content👍👍. If you have this press you know that it has bad days and good days. When I started using it was mostly bad days because always something gave way, and I was also new to a progressive press so I had some fault also.
These days it works fine, 9 days out of ten at least. When it dose not, I know the press so well that it is easy to correct. Take care and much appreciate your commenting here🙏🙏. DO HAVE a look at the complete video of this press, links for 9mm & .45 in the pinned comment. Have a great day.
Before you get to the fun part, you gotta do the boring part. Tbh this is kinda relaxing to do though
Good morning and thanks for stopping by the channel 👍. Glad you find this interesting and relaxing. Have a look at the longer clips of the same sort and much more on the channel. Take care and have a great Sunday.
This reminds me of a game where you have to craft ammo by the bullet
Good evening and thanks so much for looking at my content 👍🙏👍🙏. Have a fantastic week to come.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a semi jacketed flat point 9mm. Lol nice.
Good Afternoon Joe and thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment👍👍.. The projectile used here is a 130gr SJFP, reference B-329 fabricated by PRVI, diameter of 0.3545. Hard to find but I had some old stock, around 500 heads in total
A similar projectile that I have also used, more frequently than this is the 125gr SJSP, reference 613573 by Fiocchi. Both mentioned projectiles I have used to reload 9mm and .38 special rounds with no issue what so ever.
Have a great week.

Good evening Juilus and thanks so much for stopping by🙏🙏. Sorry to here the issue with your grandfather. Very unfortunate. ...had two of them at on time...one set up for 9mm - the other for 45 ACP...great little presses and the case feed system is the most genius and dirt simple ever!!! sold them after my stroke in 2002 - 21 years ago...sorry I did

"Do reloading... IT'S SO CHEAP AND EASY... As long as you've got 30k on machinery"
Good morning and thanks for stopping by and looking at my content.🙏🙏👍👍. Some can be very expensive but this one here is on the low side of the scale. this will set you back around $600 including also some basic accessories.
$530 _ TOTAL INVESTMENT of above listed item ONLY.
2k tops. Dillon XL750 and DAA primer tuber filler let's me load a couple hundred rounds of 9mm per hour. Cost is $.07/round.
The equipment will last decades and can be sold, so I don't view it as an expense. It's an investment that provides good ROI. I shoot mostly heavy subs, so I'm saving hundreds of dollars per year. I load match 223 on the same press for that matter.

Good afternoon Tony. Thanks for looking at my content. As much as I understand and respect your statement and views, let me assure you that this round and all rounds that have been loaded by me on this or on one of my other presses has, and will always be used for sport target shooting.

Man I wish I had bought one of these 20yrs ago. Ammo is so expensive and it can be hard to find less popular rounds
Thanks for stopping by the channel Buck Shoot 🙏👍One would need to make a calculation based on the caliber and individual needs. Generally it is cost effective but the issue has been now finding the raw materials such as Primers. Prices have also increased drastically in the past 2 years.
More that just saving money the produced ammo is customized for your specific weapons so the shooter will see a huge improvement on accuracy. BUT.. Don't be fooled by my entertainment video that reloading is a mundane and easy operation.
Reloading is a very dangerous affair and it requires lots of time, patience and restraint. Even so, mishaps can happen..

This looks so fun for some reason. If i lived in the usa i would get one bullet and reload it as much as possible until it breaks

The play in the alignment
The kick upon the raising to fill
Rotation turret alignment , holder refineness , it needs a reworking for accuracy
Good morning and thank you for stopping by and finding time to leave a comment🙏🙏👍. Very impressive observation skills. Someone picked up on these issues a couple of days ago. It is not usual with this press as it is as aligned as one would expect on all occasions.
The alignment issue and other issues you see here were real but lucky for me it was no issue during firing. I captured it as soon as I started editing and immediately knew the reason. I estimate that few rounds prior this single round footage the shell plate carrier cracked because I replaced it few rounds after this footage was taken when it totally gave way. I had to inspect a lot of rounds with a case gauge because I was not sure how many might have had issues.
After replacing the complete part, item 90683 by Lee, it all worked fine as before.
Do have a look on the channel for longer clips on this press. Link in the pinned comment.
Have a great day and thanks for your comment.🥇🥇
