  • Our big ammo stock produced during the Covid-19 lock down is finally empty - it's reloading time!
    In this session we are loading 9mm major cartridges for our open guns. Strongly recommending ARES bullets and Reload Swiss RS24 powder!

      It's the automated primer system from Mark 7 - www.markvii-loading.com/accessories/priming-systems-accessories/101-1065.html

    • @msipsc3276
      @msipsc3276  3 года назад +4

      You should practice with the bullets you are competing. Poly coated bullets have less friction in the barrel which results in less wear of the barell and higher speed of the bullet. Therefore you also need less powder to achieve your power factor which means less recoil and faster and more precise shooting...

    • @LordPerique
      @LordPerique 3 года назад +1

      @@msipsc3276 do you run into any issues with the blues leadding up your comp or is the poly coating that good? I cant find any sort of consensus online about using them for 9 major, wondering what your thoughts are. Sick setup, looks like youve got everything totally squared away!

    • @msipsc3276
      @msipsc3276  3 года назад

      @@LordPerique Absolutely no issues with the poly coating in the comp. But we run this setup with 5.4 inch STI barrels at the lower end of gas pressure. No experience with ported barrels and higher pressures so far.

    how many times can you reload virgin brass before it needs to be tossed?

    • @tf1977sled
      @tf1977sled Год назад +1

      About 8 times then it should be annealed. If you anneal every time you could get up to 30 reloads. But it depends on a lot of variables. Quality of the original brass how hot the loads are and so on.

      @BloodEagle. 3 года назад

      @@msipsc3276 oh okay, so are the rounds consistent with that of regular off-the-shelf ammunition? I'm guessing the accuracy is only average since you can't get each round precise

    • @msipsc3276
      @msipsc3276  3 года назад

      Reloaded ammo can be precisely tuned to your specific barrel. With off-the-shelf ammo you cannot optimise muzzle bounce, recoil and power factor - you simply have to take what you get.
      So it's somehow comparing apples to pears - of course off-the-shelf ammo will be more consistant being produced on real industrial machines...

    If you expend thousands of rounds per week or month, that's great. For myself,, reloading is not really about saving money K(wspecially now) but it's a hobby in and of itrself. Your Blue Kooll-Aid press should by sponsered by Ronco. "Set it and forget it". Totally funn. And, it must be nice to have money.
