    Great video, keep em coming!
    Automated helps me keep a better eye on things (not at 2k per hour). A manual press is good, it turns into a bit of juggling act of repetition which can be mind-numbing if done for to long that in itself becomes unsafe.

      Get a single stage LEE press and a bunch of LEE dies. You'll learn a ton of stuff and if you decide to upgrade to a Dillon or so, you can still keep the single stage press for other tasks. That's what I did and that's what I currently still use (Dillon XL 650 + Mark VII motor + single stage LEE C-Cast press).

    DAMN! $1600 for an electric motor and controller. You could buy another dillon 1050 for that price and then two fist your ammo making process. F*ck this, $500 is about all something like this is worth.

    • @KyJack13
      @KyJack13 7 лет назад +2

      Beach&BoardFan I agreed with you. 1600 is far too expensive for guys that won't be reselling

    • @JandJFirearms
      @JandJFirearms 7 лет назад +1

      Folks that shoot competitively, have disabilities, or just don't want to pull the handle can benefit from it as well.

    • @beachboardfan9544
      @beachboardfan9544 7 лет назад +1

      AmmoBot
      An electric motor and variable frequency drive to perform this task would cost about $300-$400 at most, and a chain drive maybe $100 (personally I would run a belt drive, it would be quieter). This just seem like excessive price gouging. Not saying its a bad product or poor idea, just insanely overpriced. Lots of people have been making automation products for Dillons super 1050 for a long time.

    • @TheGunCollective
      @TheGunCollective  7 лет назад +2

      So are you saying that their time, effort and knowledge is worth nothing? Get the hell out of here with that attitude. If its that easy, where is your automated reloading set up?

    • @JandJFirearms
      @JandJFirearms 7 лет назад +1

      Beach&BoardFan this isn't just a dumb drive system like a Ponsness Warren. This is a computer controlled system that is scalable to handle communication with sensors and accessories. This system also employs the same motors and drives as CNC machining centers making it extremely accurate. Customers who process brass report accuracy of trim length to within +/- .001". In sure someone with the right knowledge can slap together a drive system of some sort for around the same price you gave. But that doesn't come with the warranty and support of a company with hundreds of combined years of experience in industrial automation and controls.

    I have the hornady lock and load ammo factory setup. Would the ammo bot work with the hornady press? I have never seen any body try it with any other press besides the hornady shotgun press. There’s a part of me that wants to switch to Dillion. Just for all the good things I hear about it. I have never had problems with hornady but I have had my eyes on the Dillion 1050 for a few years now. Any suggestions?

    What would your exact setup cost (in 9mm)? I kind of have a buy once, cry once mentality. I've been eyeing a Dillon 650XL, but if I can get everything I need like your setup for not an order of magnitude more (running pre-prepped brass until I can buy an ultrasonic cleaner, etc, to prep my own fired brass); I might just spring for a 1050.

    • @jaxemt9545
      @jaxemt9545 7 лет назад +2

      I started by taking a course at Cabela's: NRA Basic Metallic Cartridge Reloading Course. This way I could learn the proper way right from the start and not have to unlearn any incorrect practices. Plenty of people are great at this and could do a great job teaching it. I didn't know anyone as well as this is reputable and structured. Great class, I'd take it again.

    • @charles1075
      @charles1075 7 лет назад +1

      Jormungand13324 I started with one step of the process and bought a wet tumbler. then added hand tools for the next step and so on till i could prep all my brass. also started with a single stage Lee classic cast press. it is slower than progressive. I feel it is more accurate. I have moved on to progressive presses, but I still use the single stage press for my precision rifle.

    • @killer13324
      @killer13324 7 лет назад

      but arent the presses expensive? i know they're an investment but still

    • @charles1075
      @charles1075 7 лет назад +1

      Jormungand13324 the single stage was not too bad. the Lee press is like 125$ and the kit with other helpful tools is 275$. I don't reload to save money as you can get good quality ammo pretty cheap. I use Atlanta Arms online. I reload because I enjoy it as a hobby. the money saved reloading is usually spent shooting more rounds and more often.
