An absolutely brilliant ad in my opinion. Who doesn't want Hiltz to make the jump over the barbed wire every time they watch The Great Escape? This ad gave us the chance. Thanks!

I know, right? I’ve just watched the ad like ten times in a row. It’s addictive. So one with media skills should recut the film with this scene in it, finding the petrol pump and clearing the wire.

@@dustinzaccaria7644 In this modern age of deep fake technology, we could see Steve McQueen making the jump in even more believable detail

I wish someone would splice this in to the movie.

Absolutely loved this ad as a kid. However after having seen the ad first before the film I felt so ripped off when he didn’t clear the fence in the actual film.

Great add, but with one major historical inaccuracy: the Great Escape was in 1943.

Digital technology was pretty good back then, digitally adding Steve's head onto the stunt persons body. And how many people picked up on the two different bikes?

Cool ad and all, but that's NOT Steve McQueen but rather a look alike. Good ad nonetheless.
