  • Here's a walkthrough of a tool I think every DIY/RUclips/weekend warrior mechanic needs in their garage.
    The 1/2" impact is by far one of the most useful tools for auto work. The specs on this tool are wild and its really hard to beat the value for the price especially with a lifetime warranty.
    Here is a direct link to the tool: www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-18...

    Home Depot has a kit with this impact wrench for $200. 2 batteries, charger and tool.

    Hey bro. Thanks for the little detail about impact sockets. I honestly did not know this. You saved someone from potentially getting hurt.

    @4:15 and most importantly wear safety glasses. I know someone who almost lost an eye from those sockets exploding

    I just ordered it and was having doubts until I watched this video.
    I didn’t think it would be strong enough against a crankshaft pulley but now I’m convinced it can handle the job 😅 👍

    I like Using the 3 AMP OCTANE BATTERY 21700 Cells

    Have the older one...I love these and they are a lifesaver when your smaller impacts won't cut it on stubborn bolts!

    Just to be clear, are you saying battery size affects torque strength?

    Can you switch off the auto mode what good is it if it does not take the nut completey off when your changing a flat tire on the side of a highway.

      @WaterFowler41  2 месяца назад

      Yes the auto mode is one of the speed modes, there’s also traditional modes where the tool runs until you let off the trigger

    What exactly is the purpose of the 4 modes? Do they affect torque, rpm or both?

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  Месяц назад

      Yes it does affect all of those and I cover this in the video. Having different speed/torque ratings gives you better control of your task. Not all application require 300+ ft-lbs of tightening capability.

    Mine couldn't break loose a 250 ft lbs track bar bolt on my RAM 3500. Supposed to have 1500 ft lbs of break away torque.

      Sure the bolt wasn’t siezed? Curious how you ended up breaking it.

      @@WaterFowler41I used a breaker bar to get it started and then finished with the Ridgid.

      Something is wrong with yours...what battery did you use?

      I had one that sent in for repairs had no impact power.

    I had 2 of those. Both were defective so I bought the Milwaukee 2967-00 cheaper then I paid for the Ridgid. I love my Ridgid power tools but when you get 2 defective right out of the box your confidence in the Brand starts to switch brands. Milwaukee is not perfect either. I had 2 M12 6ah go dead a month apart from each other but to be fair those batteries were 4 years old.

      Where were you buying these tools that they were defective right out of the box? Seems fishy

      @@WaterFowler41 Bought them right from Home Depot. There was nothing fishy going on. The first one I put my octane 6ah battery on and it would not come off. I tried for 2 hrs and couldn't get it off. I took it back to Home Depot to see what they could do. The guy in the tool dept finally got it off but he cracked the housing. The second I took it out of the box right inside Home Depot. We put my battery on the second one and it did not work. I already told this story about what happened in this chat a couple weeks ago. The Milwaukee High torque 2967-00 is still on sale for $298.00 at Home Depot.
