- I do not encourage anyone to enter culverts, unclog anything, or enter flooded areas as it can easily become deadly without the proper training
I unclog drains for fun in my spare time (I have been trained in culvert inspections for years with private co.) and I am osha trained.
Exploring anything abandoned can be dangerous or deadly without experience. I don't encourage anyone to enter any abandoned structures. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal, and when possible I seek out permission from the owner or local police. I simply go to document its history before it's gone forever and I leave things the way I find them. I only take pictures and only leave footprints. I assume all the risks and responsibility before doing this. Please don't attempt to do this on your own. There could be nails, asbestos, falling concrete, soft floors, animals, or other hazards. Thanks for watching.

Is it weird that I'm actually impressed by your honesty and openness in posting a video where you fail at your task? Some folks would have deemed it unworthy to upload because of that.
He's cut from a better cloth than most.
Oh come on. That pipe would be EASY to find.*

*If the ditch was empty of water and the leaves weren't all over the place, and...
You were probably really close. Try to use a magnet to locate the pipe for cases like this. Thank you for the video!
It wouldn't have mattered, there was too many rocks. Update video coming soon
May help alot. Like you said, big rock could have crushed it. 👍👍👍👍
i suggested a handheld metal detector in the past but like he said, if there are rocks in the way it wouldn't help much.
Looked very much like an Aluminium pipe though.
@@rimmersbryggeri galvanized
I never in my life imagined that i'd be upset and a bit irritated because someone couldnt clear a flooded culvert.
I felt the frustration right along with you ! 😮💨
You're not alone. Anyway, it was a great try!
You should carry around a magnet with you to locate underwater pipes
The problem was it was buried under rocks
that’s a pretty good idea or a metal detector.
Not all culverts are metal guys.
When my grandparents had a trailer park they built a solid rod with a sharp point on one end and a handle on the other end for your hands to be able to force it into the ground
@@neilgodfrey2669exactly this was nonmetallic aluminum
Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear safety vests and are soaked to the skin. You are appreciated.
Note to self: When you think you've chosen the right height boot for the water, always use the next higher boot to avoid flooded boots.
Skip the middle men and put on a diver's drysuit.
Or channel your inner Winnie the Pooh and only wear a shirt.
@@MuddyPigg Dangerous game if there are leeches in the water.
You really don't want a three-toothed biter on your dangling bait.
I absolutely love this. First time I've seen what would be easy to call a "fail" but all of this is more "lesson learnt" for next time. Still 100% the best unblocker I've ever seen with astonishing knowledge. Learning can be frustrating but ultimately rewarding as that helps us thrive for better.
Absolutely ADORE these videos bro, please never stop
Props for you to keep trying to find the other opening. I tried to unclog my first culvert here over the weekend and it was harder than it looks. I thought I knew where the pipe was but I just couldn't see it. I moved a ton of small stones that had slid down the embankment but never found the opening. Oh well - I will try again some day!
Good for you!
If pipe metal use metal detector🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
I'm envious of your ability to find enjoyment in almost anything. Keep up the videos Post!
A metal detector could have been helpful to find that pipe 😅
I've got an old Ace 250 and hand wands..found all kinds of old antiques and trash..lol..a few silver coins and a gold ring...fun to do
Definitely would have helped fast with a detector
It was blocked with the boulders, wouldn't have mattered
Rats!!! I'm sure so many of us would like to be there helping you find the opening. Seems like -- so close-- and yet-- so far.😢
Sometimes they get one over on you and it is what it is . I would not blame you as you gave it a fantastic attempt to clear it. Great video again and thanks for trying
Ooh, that water looks cold. Kudos for you for keeping at it. I was eagerly awaiting that huge whirlpool, and that satisfying gush of water as I’m sure you were. 😎🇨🇦😎
I half expected to see you get a mask and snorkel and go diving, lol. Kudos for showing your failures as well as your successes. Keep 'em coming.
Woo-hoo! 🎉
The beavers are getting smarter and are now using stealth to hide their dams… Well done beavers, well done
I carry an extendable pole with a folding claw and a come along hand winch for pulling things out of a culvert. And a small hydraulic hand jack and metal plates to help open them back up from excavator damage. They also hand underwater hand held metal pin point detectors Those could help ya out on some of your adventures.
You gave it your best shot; not every time will be a clear win. Consider it one to learn from and move on. A for effort!
I really thought you had it. Definite A+ for effort! 😁
9:24 *frustration intensifies*
Water was flowing nice till post 10 move something and water stopt everybody look at 8:25 at camera2
Great video, Post. I had just finished the other video you posted today, and this one came up at the end. Two excellent videos.
It stinks that you couldn't get that culvert pipe unclogged Post 10 it definitely was a boulder and maybe the pipe was completely crushed on one side hopefully next time it'll work again or the whole pipe will have to be replaced then the whole Road will be flooded then you'll have worry about washouts happening too
Maybe you should have dug more toward the edge of the road to find the end of that first pipe as it was sticking out a fair way on the outlet end.........
that must have been extremely frustrating for u, and us, as it would have been a huge blast if u could have pulled it off. awesome effort though man
Great video Post 10 and with your permission first can I give you a special shout-out in a video
A couple of leaves passed through when you first got right in and flooded your boots. Such a shame this time
You can't win them all post 10 but at least you tried like you said the pipe is blocked with bolders all the best Andrew south wales uk 👍 👌 😀 🇬🇧 keep safe always 👍
Maybe find or build a rod or pole (with extensions) that can reach and push out towards the cloged end from the other side.
@1:04 this video's camera #2 Wooooo
Bummer! I was anticipating a blast!
I'm gutted for you. Oh man I honestly thought you was going to open it up. Especially when I saw you was waist deep in water.
I think you were very close. Look at the outflow at 2:00 - a few leaves flow through. Maybe increased flow for a few seconds before? The water is also discoloured after this
Thank you for confirming what I thought. I wasn’t sure.
@@unclenolly3207 There has been another video in the last few days and I'm sure it shows this culvert when the ditch is dry. The pipe is very badly smashed and there was no way he could have cleared it properly. But I'm sure Post did something!
Buy yourself an underwriter camera, the type with my a probe and screen.
Man, I felt that "RRRRR!!" in my gut. You'll get 'em next time.
That stubborn pipe must be mashed or you'd got it open Post.
"Mission failed, we'll get'em next time."
Bad luck today. There's hope for the next one tho. 😊
well you were close because now its totally blocked
Komentari. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You always are at the right place at the right time to try to fix flooded roadways!!
The leaves kept trying to float over to the pipe.
Noooooooooooooo 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Shoutout to camera number 2. Always giving his best shot
Needs a snorkel and diving mask
You should carry an underwater metal detecting wand, like scuba divers use
Suggestion, you think you could use a hand helt metal detector to find the culvert end? Good videos as always post!! 😊
Damn, Blue balled…

Post10...A hard graft, soaking wet, but it shows such admirable dedication.
My armchair advice:
Go to the exiting end of the pipe and move back far enough so that you can look into it like into a tunnel. Align yourself so that you can look precisely straight down the pipe. Then find a landmark right above that line on the other side. That should allow you to site the pipe on at least one axis. Like looking down the sights on the barrel of a gun to tell what the target is.
Hi Post10
Thanks for the informative video. UAlwaysU great content.
How did I miss 3 videos from Post? Darn youtube algorithm! That's ok, I'm getting caught up now. Thanks Post!
You’ve definitely met your match, my dude. It’s weird, the second camera showed some water flow and then it seemed to stop. This definitely wasn’t your typical organic blockage.
Post10 You need to make a "water scope". Take a PVC pipe maybe 2ft by 2 inch,, the wider the better. Cap one end with clear plastic, and then you can use this to look underwater. It should make finding some of these pipes much easier.
A metal detecting pin pointer might come in handy when searching for hidden metal culvert pipes. They are small and can fit into a pocket and most are waterproof. I was going to suggest a metal detector, but the good ones are expensive and not worth the expense unless you will use it often. Some of the good ones are also waterproof and they can see deeper than the cheap ones.
Get a “ septic stick “ 3 - 5 ft metal rod with a T handle., you might able to follow the culvert….. was possibly crushed by debris or the excavator.
I've always wondered, why don't you carry a shovel with you. The rake is great for leaves and branches and all, but wouldnt silt and mud be easier worked with a shovel? hefty steel shovel could help a lot. Also... a steel... whaddya call it in english... an iron/steel bar, breaker bar, digging bar? meant to make small holes in earth and to use as a leverage tool to move rocks. usually about 1,5-2 meters in length and a tapered end you hit with and get under rocks etc.
You can't success each time. But you are still a hero in my mind.
Thks for what you do.
Congrat from France.
🎉🎉😅
I’d love to go ride around with you and help you on some of the bigger projects you have a hard time with on your own. Would you be willing to have me ride along and help you? If so let me know Brotha. Much Luv from Raymond Maine.
Im 90% you had it. I could hear a sound coming from camera 2..the sound of you touching the pipe and that soundwave travelling through the pipe out the other end. Some light knocking sounds right after you moved that boulder out of the way.
You must have been very close around the 3:30 mark, and closed the flow off.
If you look at camera #2 at the 4 minute ish mark, the water coming out of the pipe drops off considerably
I can't believe watching these RUclips videos that I would get excited when someone starts a video by saying we've come to another flooded road because you know there's probably a good Culver to unpack lol
Post, randomly poking around for a few minutes and then throwing a tantrum when you don't find anything, which is incredibly frustrating to watch, why don't you dig a narrow trench by the side of the road so you know exactly where it is and then you only have to figure out how far out it is. Or methodically work across the ground in a grid pattern. Either way you'll find things faster, be less frustrated and make better footage. Better luck next time.
Dude, you should be wearing your hard hat. Not only is it safe for you, but it looks really cool too.
What a rude culvert! All good Post10. For sure frustrating for you but i still enjoyed the vid regardless of uncooperative pipes
I've been run ratty in horrible weather for inhumane wages till my body quit and I'll never understand how these fat guys with cushy jobs don't even try on purpose every single day.
Maybe, if you have time and think of it, you could go back to that unfindable pipe location in during the drier summer months and have more success finding the culvert then? At any rate, great effort on your part!
Thank you trying to do this. But maybe in the future, the situation may change. Have a safe trip home. Thanks 10!
Bring stick of dynamite next year.
Yes, this is a joke. Frustration over something like this is too familiar.
I'm devastated you didn't accomplish anything
🥇
i wonder if it would help to carry wooden stakes with you for situations like this when you find the culvert, you could put a stake down and write in sharpie "culvert". any thoughts on that, Post?
I'm confused, did someone else film the intro? You didn't start with "Hey everyone!"
Frustrating from a viewer's standpoint that you couldn't find it.
You may not see my comment, but I would like to suggest that you interact more with your viewer while you do your thing. it is enough just to tell something or remember some blockages associated with it. in general, something like that.
Denied...😪 Looking forward to the Update Video.
Maybe a wee rc buggy or something for scooting up the pipe? Then could have it with a camera and horn or something so you can hear it a bit! Shame you had to get soaked for nothing!
Hey post. Love your content. Just an idea for the future. Maybe get a GoPro to attach as a body cam or hardhat cam. I bet the footage would be great
Pq no hay subtítulos. Soy de Argentina
dive.......Dive............DIVE...........straight in !
For situations like this, I'd have a metal detector. But that would kind of just waste up space in the car.
It appears that the exit end is pointing upward which would keep the water from going through. Or am I seeing things wrong?
I wonder if wetsuit pants would be good to have on while unclogging culverts. Just a thought.
You were in the right area, cause what you did up until seven minutes in seems to have put a plug in whatever hole there was. Sorry it didn't pan out, it would have been an awesome gusher.
Maybe it helps you to watch inside the pipe before you start and can see the angle -left/right/up/down- better?
Would you try some heavy duty plumbers poles to jam through the exit to locate the entrance.
Definition of "Determination"...........POST 10.
this doesn't count, post10 is still undefeated against clogs and blocks
🦫Whoop!!
I'm saying "go to the other side and look through the pipe to see if it'll show anything" to my phone and my family is looking at me weird 😂
Would a metal detector help you find those hidden metal culverts?
If you had a temporary piece of pipe couldn’t you drain the pool using it as syphon? Just to get to the level to spot the pipe?
possibly a big rock crushed the end of the pipe hence why you could not locate it. please do a follow up. A fellow Masshole
I think we need to go back to making roads by looking at the land not some formula or scientific mapping.
Why don't you wear gloves?
Shovel and a mini water pump would probably work better
I think a wetsuit would've helped more than a magnet 😊
