Well it's just bug juice violence and shooting robots that break apart. It's actually great team work building and strategy. So if he were my son I'd ask him to join me. My son is 13. Maybe play it on Easy or Trivial mode and see how he likes it. @@dogon1013

Great to hear you game with family. It changed the whole dynamic of learning with my four year old. He used to see homework as some chore. Now he's excited for it as we just consistently finish 2-3 pages at a time. After that his choice for any activity he wants my undivided attention for. Usually wants to play switch together. Few minutes of screen time here and there with gaming in moderation.
I LOVE that friendly fire is enforced. It forces communication so your team knows what's going on and also creates hilarious consequences when communication breaks down. 😆 I haven't had this much fun in a video game for a LONG time.

I think there is a interesting shift going on in the gaming industry. I think gamers are no longer wanting serious stories or themes. They are craving fun and funny experiences. Helldivers 2 and Lethal Company are great examples of this. Love your videos. Great work!

This game really does a lot to make you feel like you're really part of the war. When you´re looking out your ship window, the other ships you see are other players in the lobby. When you look down at the planet, the red and blue lines coming off the surface are other players' stratagems When you're being shot down to the planet in your Hellpod, you can see other players joining the fight, falling in their hellpods in the background When you're on the planet, you can see other players' stratagems being called in the distance
I was on the fence about this Clayton but the part were you explained about all the fights going on live around the world sold it to me. This is why people appreciate reviews like this. Nothing paid for or sponsored like most twitch streamers when they “review” games just good honest opinion, love it. Also Clayton give 9 bit armies a try, great little indie game 👌
You can play solo if you select Friends Only in the options. I either play solo or with my son. We play with randoms when we want to try 8-9 difficulty level.
Yeah. Around the weekend you mentioned the servers had already increased capacity which is when I got it too and no server overload issues on my end either. I find it slighly like a more barebones destiny 2... but the devs are working on adding more features, and no P2W either. And you can unlock everything without paying by using super credits to unlock the premium pass without opening your wallet. Always be on the lookout for the different samples around the map... and keep track of the places where you die cause they are dropped on death. That is currency for unlocking equipable perks. The pink ones are rarer and can be found in the harder difficulties.
You should try Elden Ring if you haven't played it already. It's challenging, but extremely fun. Witcher 3 has one of the best stories in any game I've ever played. Highest recommendation
Great game !! Got about 60 hours on it, given up on cod, helldivers 2 is where its at ! Mechs coming soon to helldivers 2 aswel, You need to get yourself a steam deck oled for the retro games and remote playing from your ps5 and the games are dirt cheap in the steam sales 👍

I've been trying to get free to play this. Im currently catching up on my backlog of indie games. If I can recommended you some really good indie RPGS. DEFINITELY try out Sea of Stars. It literally made me feel like a kid playing RPGs in the 90s. Also, a really good indie RPG is Rise of the Thrid Power. In the past few years, indie gaming has kept me far more entertained than AAA gaming... dood!

My old man got the PS1 chipped for me within my first week of having one and a few months down the line a good friend's older brother brought a CD book with hundreds of copied games. Street Fighter Alpha 3, Strider Hiryu, Tenchu - I mean, just tons of niche, rare, awesome titles! One of those, was Breath of Fire IV! Should you feel like adding it to the Retro playlist, you may be in for a treat! It still stands up all these years later!
This game looks really tempting. The crew I've been playing Destiny 2 with for years have mostly moved on to Baldur's Gate 3, which is mechanically really good BTW, but Helldivers 2 looks like it might scratch that shooter itch. Just for giggles, look up Aztecross's "This Week In Democracy" video from yesterday (ruclips.net/video/3YvQaOXRLB8/видео.html). He has natural comedic timing.
Helldivers 2 took A LOT from Deep Rock Galactic, which is a good thing, since DRG is famous for being the friendlies online game out there. (Short concept, you are 4 dwarfs dropped down on a planet to gather resources by corporate firm that doesn't care about you). Tips for Helldivers 2: You'll need to do "operations" which are a 2 or 3 part missions on a planet. So when you click to choose and u see 2 hexagons, that's an operation. Those need to be completed so you can increase your difficulty and you get bonus rewards. On higher difficulty the mission variety increases, also the enemy types and the map has more stuff to do on it. You'll see red zones on the map and u should go there and investigate, also if you see a yellow beam of light...go investigate. Missions usually take around 20-30min when you clear the map. Also a big thing i figured out is when you drop down, call in your support weapon immediately and equip it, don't save it for when you need it, u'll need it pretty soon. Support pack strategem is also good, it lets you carry and take (by pressing 5 on keyboard, not sure on controller) or lets you GIVE supplies to your team mates, call it on mission start so you have more of everything on hand. P.S. Have you watched Starship troopers, now old but good movie ? Helldivers 2 took A LOT of inspiration from there.

if we are talking about woke games, there is one im playing right now which is decent as a game (gameplay etc) but is filled to the brim with woke propaganda that it almost hurt, its called banishers ghosts of new eden, you play as a couple a man and a woman, and the game constantly reminds you that the male character is just the assistant of course, and the master is the woman, and all of the strong and in authority characters you meet in the game are women, it seems blackrock or whoever it is, really close the faucet for companies that dont participate in spreading the "message"
This game worries me a lot. Helldivers is war propaganda masked as a war propaganda satire. The majority of players won't get the anti-war message engrained in it - they will only see the awesome gameplay. You can see in the comments to the original soundtrack how some accounts are pushing the most insane rhetoric under the guise of humor. The two enemy factions in game are the two irl fronts: Iran and Russia. I don't buy the devs' neutral stance on politics in their official forums one bit.

haven't played HD2 yet but the original was some of the most co-op fun you could have on a PS4.
