I do the same thing. The cutoffs from my spoons become spreaders. I’ve also done the walnut handles. Also have do the reverse, walnut spreader with maple handles. Nicely done young man.
I tried many ways to make a knife out of wood, well, no matter the wood you use, i came to the point it has to be serated as a saw, but it will never be sharp enough. By the way, good job, i like the shape.
Thanks! Yes, this probably won't cut anything except for really soft stuff, but that's fine with me. They could also be used for spreads and jellies instead of cutting.
Lookie, can I make a suggestion - the finished product doesn't show up so great against that corn coloured background. When I posted my spoon photo on Facebook I laid it on a red tee-shirt. Showed up beautifully. I'm just Sue Collins on fb with a photo of a bird as a profile photo. So if you want to have a look...
I love sanding... Sanding is how I made my first spoon. I love my spoon...
You SHOULD be pleased with it! It's BEAUTIFUL!
Thanks so much!

Thanks! It's always a fun challenge to figure out what to do with all the little bits that accumulate in the scrap pile.
