I had the pleasure of meeting Dameon Clarke at the Pasadena Anime Expo 2023 and he’s nice and chill dude. He signed my Perfect Cell drawing and we both took a pic together. He’s amazing as Perfect Cell and his performance as Future Gohan was fantastic. He’s one of my top 3 favorite Gohan VAs besides Kyle Hebert and Stephanie Nadolny.
YES! I'm so glad you've gotten him. Dameon Clarke is genuinely one of my favorite voice actors ever, I find him a highly underrated talent with a tremendous amount of emotive capabilities and range. Though impressions obviously aren't voice acting, nailing my Perfect Cell impression was part of what got the ball rolling for me getting into voice acting; just studying his performance in Kai, understanding the cadence of way things were said, etc. Cannot praise this dude enough. Thanks for having him on, this rocked. (Unrelated: I am also very happy to say that he approves of my Cell impression and even remembered it during a convention, so that makes me tremendously happy, too.)
Always been a big fan of Clarke's voice. I can always feel a pinch of humor in his Cell voice acting. My favorite voice in Dragon Ball Z for sure. It's very funny that he voiced Adult Gohan and his worst ennemy as well. Would have been interesting to talk about it in the video but he was so distracting ah ah ! Did you know there is a talented RUclips channel with dozens of humoristic 3D videos dedicated to Cell with Kermit the Frog called *"DevilArtemis"* ? Please talk to him about it someday. He might like it.
Dameon Clarke’s perfect Cell voice during the Call Games was my very first introduction to DBZ in the episode when 16 tries to self-destruct. Cell and his personality and voice was what got me hooked - thank you so much Dameon Clarke!!! Love hearing you in the DBZ games as well and the recent DBS Super Hero movie!!
AHHHHH! I've been DYING to see Dameon interviewed. His performance as Cell was captivating to me as a child. I was around the same age as Gohan at the time and was riveted during their iconic battle. Honestly, as awesome as Frieza is, I seriously hated Cell more (in the best way). I wanted him defeated more than any villain. Always thought the Perfect Cell voice sounded more like Plankton from SpongeBob though... Now, his other characters. I think I've said before that Yu Yu Hakusho is arguably my favourite anime. Dameon's Toguro is utterly brilliant. Toguro's voice NEVER fails to send shivers down my spine. My favourite line from him is "You don't think this is personal for me too?! I'll start with 80 percent!" Well, that one and "If you don't mind, I will take a glass of orange juice over ice." Toguro doesn't drink! Future Gohan holds a special place in my heart. In 2001, my older brother and I had to get evacuated from some deadly bushfires (occupational hazard of being Australian) and our grandmother took us to Blockbuster and let us rent whatever we wanted. We, of course, chose 3 Dragon Ball Z movies we had been dying to see. And The History of Trunks was by far our favourite. We watched it over and over again as a distraction from the unfolding disaster, and I'm so grateful to everyone involved in the dub for contributing to that. Gohan's speech about the anger that drives him and his final words to the androids before he dies...just wow. I hope one day I can thank Dameon in person for this, but if he ever sees this comment, thank you Dameon from the bottom of my heart for what you did! You really helped a nine year old girl and an eleven year old boy find a spot of hope and escapism during a really terrifying time. Until I saw the credits, I never in a million years would've guessed Dameon voiced Kazuma in Fruits Basket. He's one of my favourite characters, and arguably the only decent living parent in the series. I just love him, and Dameon gives him such a warmth and charm. It's beautiful. Sorry, I think I've rambled long enough. Thankyou for bringing Dameon on. He seems like such a warm and funny guy. Complete opposite to the villains he's played!
I'm so glad you got to see this interview with Dameon! He is amazing and such a talented actor! I loved hearing your stories of how much you liked him in each anime - and why his performances meant so much - especially how much he meant to you as a nine year old. Thank you for sharing all of this!
Apart from Cell, my personal favorite dub role from this dude was without a doubt Younger Toguro, I didn’t think he could pull off making someone who essentially looked like a YYH version of a Terminator even more imposing with the voice but geez, he really nailed it.
Loved the interview. Dameon is great. I knew he voiced Perfect Cell but I didn’t know about the other two versions. That’s pretty cool. It’s also cool he has done a lot of on-camera work. I think I did catch him in an episode of Castle and also saw him on Prison Break.
Glad you enjoyed the interview! And I'm especially excited to hear you learned something new. I love when that happens! How cool that you saw him on Castle and Prison Break. I saw him on Castle!
Its pretty Cool that Not Only did he Voice Cell but he was also The Voice of Future Gohan (Before Kyle Herbert) which I think was our 1st Glimpse of Adult Gohan
He was in one of my favorite episodes of supernatural but I never saw cell's dub voice actor in real life before so I had no idea that was him for years he was such a great actor, I I only know that was him because I wanted to look up if he was cell in dbz the breakers on his Wikipedia and then I saw supernatural on his list of things and that shocked me like what episode, then I read the episode title, so I had to think of who he was in the episode and then my mind exploded, he played that raw anything and flesh eating man turned Rugaru.
Elsie these videos are awesome. It’s great seeing you all get together like this, to hear from Dameon about the origins for his Cell voices was really cool! Man whoever did the casting for all the roles in Dragonball really doesn’t miss!!
Hey elise welcome back with another awesome episode of anime adventures! 😊❤. Once again as always thank you for such an amazing interview, ive told my friends for years cell is my favorite dbz villain and dameon did a hell of a good job voicing cell so the interview was definitely an extra sweet treat for me ! 😊👍
You're welcome! 😊 How great that Cell is your fav DBZ villain and you got to see this interview with Dameon. I bet you loved hearing how he came up with the 3 versions of Cell (I know I sure did)! Thanks for always watching! Share this interview with your friends! :)
@@AnimeAdventures I sure did enjoy hearing how he came up with the 3 versions of cell aswell and I will share it with my friends and again thank you for the interview elise!❤️👍
Having played a voice clip from the exorcist, and then listening to Dameon voice First Form Cell I can certainly see where he got the idea from because they sound nearly identical. As a villain, I think Cell is one of the more complex ones in the Dragon Ball franchise. Awesome interview.👍🤘
@@AnimeAdventures indeed, they are remarkably similar. Damien is my favorite voice actor for Cell. Much the same could be said for the original Funimation voice acting crew because that’s the English version that I grew up on in the late 1990s-early 2000s.👍.
In my eyes Cell it's one of the best Villans of the DBZ Series, and he's my personal favourite Villan. Cell was arguably the Z-Warrior's most difficult opponent and not just because he was strong but also because he was strategic (a rare trait for a Dragon Ball villain). He has the cells of all the Z-Warriors and their enemies (most predominantly Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, and Frieza) which he can use to his advantage both in fighting abilities and psychologically. Previous and following villains were quickly surpassed in the arcs that succeeded them but in the Majin Buu Saga no one matched let alone surpassed Cell till Majin Buu himself came. He even not only made Goku give up but is the only villain to successfully kill him. Cell is easily one of the more iconic Dragon Ball villains and his influence reflects that. Despite bein alive for only a couple years he led way for the Saiyans to surpass the SSJ wall and allowed Piccolo to become one with Kami. His defeat also allowed Mr. Satan to go from world champion to world's savior who later went from one-note gag to a greedy yet decent goofball (legit) hero. Dragon Ball is often perceived as super simplistic never taking any risks with it's story and characters but Cell is a surprisingly complex character. As already mentioned, he has the cells of all the Z-Warriors and as such he shows numerous personality traits of them such as Vegeta's ego, Piccolo's cunning, Frieza's faux politeness (without the sarcasm), Daimao's sadism, and the Saiyan's lust for a challenge. This also ends up being his downfall as he makes the same mistakes he criticized the Z-Warriors for making. ☯️✌️
I never heard this man in any dub where he wasn’t just flat out brilliant, I mean…maybe not “Killah” from the original Dragon Ball Z dub…but it was hilarious.
Agreed. Even though Gohan is the same as as Future Gohan was at this point in the story, I still like Dameon voicing Future Gohan. Just a rougher sounding voice I feel which reflects his life growing up with everything destroyed and struggling to survive.
@charlesmaclellan8124 couldn't of said it better even tho he's more of a cameo character he has been my favourite ever since All lines are great but the lone Not one death will go unaccounted for NOT ONE leaves me with chills everytime
Cell was always my favorite bad guy back in the late 90s/early 2000s... whenever it aired. After Kai came out and Chris Ayers took the role of Frieza, HE became my favorite. Buuuut Cell will always be a very close 2nd. Glad they kept Dameon for the Kai dub. (Except for a small scene in the Buu saga that came out years after the Cell saga)
I love how Clarke did a line from TFS. Also, loved the story of him coaching taka in how to do a cell impression
Glad you enjoyed it!
2:58 The fact that this man is at least aware of or watched the Abridged version of Cell makes me unbelievably happy!
Oh more than that, Taka mentioned in a live stream that Dameon actually coached him on how to voice Cell
Yeah Dameon literally pulled a Whiplash JK Simmons on Taka lmao

I almost DIED laughing at the TFS ‘wanna see me drink this guy’
This guy killed the cell performance 👏🏿 omg my favorite voice actor they need to bring him back

Love hearing your stories about your Cell impressions and Dameon's approval! :)
Oh wow! I didn't know he did all three Cell forms! I'd love to hear the story of how he got casted.
Yaasss!!! I love hearing his stories, too! (And I've even known him a long time and still learned some new things!) 😀
Dameon has such a _Perfect_ voice. Thank you for sharing your interview with him, Elise! I think you nailed the Cell lines ^_^
Glad you enjoyed it! And lol about nailing Cell's lines. :)
I love cell. He is one the most darkest and twisted anime characters. Its so fitting he based off the Exorcist. Such great range.
So glad you got to see this interview with Dameon if you love Cell. I enjoyed hearing Dameon talk about how he created the character voices.
Cell is undoubtedly the best villain in Dragon Ball Z since Freiza and Broly.
YAY Did you know Dameon sounds like Mr. Lawerence's Plankton from SpongeBob
Ah, I didn't even think about that. Now I"m going to listen to that character in a new way!
Pan and Cell! This was so fun! 💞
Thank you!

I’d kill to hear a conversation between Cell and Handsome Jack.
That and/or Dameon’s take on Cell’s Perfect transformation song from DBZA.
Cell is the best, love him, and loved him in the videogames too especially DBFZ

Just watching this now and I'm so glad as my childhood nerd is filled with happyness. Thank You for this.
Yay! You’re welcome!
Yeah I just met him seem like a really nice dude it was so fun to meet him at comicon
Can you get an interview with the voice actor for Android 13? The. 30 dollar hair cut line is unforgettable

🙌🙌🙌
Fun fact Toguro’s Japanese voice actor is the Japanese voice of Arnold Schwarzenegger.
I love when Elise does an impression of the other person's voice. That's so much fun
Thank you! It’s fun…and most of the time I’m SO off! 😂
Finally Dameon has arrived 🔥 Cell's voice was spot on ! ❤

This is my 5th time watching this interview. Very inspiring and also kind of influential
The fact he did a line from the abridged version is just 👌🏻 😂
I love the jack
Loved him as Handsome Jack

Great seeing the two of you talk together. I love Cell and Handsome Jack and if I had to pick a Dragonball GT character I liked, it's Pan.
Thank you for doing these interviews. So awesome

Good interview, thanks for sharing with us & Happy Thanksgiving Eve 👌🏿
Thanks, Quincy! Happy Thanksgiving to you, too!
Cell was and still is the perfect villain (no pun intended)
The entire cell saga was a beautiful story
You could tell you two go way back! Great interview 😄
Thank you so much!
I think he might be as funny as Todd Abercorn
Lol! Dameon is definitely hilarious! Have you seen Todd's interview on my channel, as well?
@@AnimeAdventures yes, I have
I got a signed cell picture from him at a convention and I hope to meet you as well one day Elise
A very awesome interview
Thanks so much!
I was your 73 subscriber :) we met at kamehacon in texas a while back.
I'm so happy to see you growing
Thank you for being my 73rd subscriber and for sticking with me! I appreciate you!

I can't believe this anime is going be happening
Happy Thanksgiving Elise 😁
Happy early Thanksgiving, Elise!🍂🍁🍗🍽
Happy Thanksgiving, Kendal!

@Theterminato2013 no disrespect to kyle I just never thought his voice suited adult gohan but that's just me
Your channel is awesome. 🎉
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it!
Is he going to be in the borderland movie
Not sure! 🤷🏼♀️
My favorite Cell voiceline from the show is: ''Don't you realize yet, you're up against the perfect WEAPON?!!''
You should be in title too! Pan is best!

marry me dameon 😍 ❤
Does anyone notice that Dameons face looks like cells face in his final form 🤔 or is it just me 😅
😂
Question did anybody ask him if he will ever voice Adult Gohan/Future Gohan? Not alot of people know that he also voiced Future Gohan!
Cell and plankton sound the same
Did Dameon actually voice imperfect cell too in TFS?
No Takahata101 voiced Cell in TFS, Dameon just said a line from TFS
He didn’t do Toguro ☹️
🙂
