Not really just your luck. They just need to up there quality control abit. Regardless they should take care of you, they have a very good customer service rep.

What about converting 1801 to DC? I'm sure the motor is still good, and you just had bad luck with the chip.

Oh well. Call them up. Everything I got from them has worked great. I have had a couple Broadway Limited locomotives that were DOA.

Rapido’s own video about the mystery box described the engine included as being DCC sound.
You sure it’s dcc maybe it’s dc that’s why you hear a hum who knows with them. Mystery box right

Hummmm sounds like DC not DCC ...
I think even if it was just DC, the light would still come on, regardless of address.
@ScottRails DC on DCC equals bad Juju. But you are right the light should of flickered like it was having a seizure.
