As a Croat , I glad you enjoyed your stay in Croatia . Next time you are here be sure to visit Istra , region famous for beautiful cities , vine and truffles . For little bit of history visit Zagreb and region of Croatian Zagorje which is full of castles . And little tip for all of the tourist , be sure to visit the most underrated gem of Croatia which is Slavonija and Baranja . Trust me on this . It will take your breath away . Spectacular food and wine and people are super friendly . And is quite cheaper than Dalmatia .
I have heard so much about Istria and Zagreb and Slavonija. I would love to come back one day and visit!
Of course it is cheaper than Dalmatia, because there's nothing to see there.

There are sandy beaches in Croatia (Nin, Zaton, Saharun, Olib etc), but most of them are located in the Northern Dalmatia.
I've been told that the Northern coast is stunning, we'll certainly visit on our next visit.
My family and I went last year to visit my husband's relatives. This video is very informative. One thing I would also add is to pack a portable clothesline. Laundromat can be sparse, and you may need to do quick hand laundry. However, due to the dry heat in Croatia, lightweight fabrics dry quickly.
As far as other great places to visit would be Zagreb and the northern Slavonia region. These regions are good to visit in July/August when everyone else goes to the sea on holiday.
Hi Melissa! Ah, great tip! We didn't think of it because all of our apartments and airbnb's had a washer & clothesline, but that might not be the case for everyone, so very helpful. We look forward to coming back to Croatia one day to see other regions.

@Sortjuh, great question without an easy answer as there are so many variables and it is why I did not address it in the video. For starters, what country you are coming from, what bank you use, does your bank charge fees if using out of network ATM's, if within your network will the ATM you are using charge fees still? That is just a few of the many questions that need to be answered for me to give an honest take on it. If you want to dive deep into it, you can send us a message on either Instagram or Facebook (same name as our channel) and I will do my best to help you with this. When sending a message, start by answering as many of the questions posed above as you can. That will at least give me a head start on helping.

Hi there. Just found your channel. Thanks for all the info on Croatia 🇭🇷! I’ll be staying in Split for June (doing 2-3 day side trips from there), and can’t wait!!!!!! I’m curious where you got your mobile hotspot from, that was approximately $50 for 5 weeks of unlimited data. That sounds great. Hvala 🤗✈️ 🌍
Sorry for the late reply. We bought the sim card for the hotspot in Vela Luka and we already had the device. I wish I could give you a better answer than that. I am sure you could ask around and finds them though. The device will be the most expensive part.

🤣 I have actually tried bajadera. I googled it and saw the packaging and remember trying it, just not in this video! It sure was a lot better than the choco bananas!
One more information.If you want sandy beaches go to Nin near city of Zadar..but be warned there is no sun shades, so pack some good protection else you are goona get nasty sunburns and look like a cooked crab, also its good for family with kids since its knee deep...and for a whole body tan if you know what i mean(there are some good secluded places there)..cheers!

Hi! You're going to love your time in Croatia. There are the usual restricted areas for drones, like near airports, major towns, etc. But there are lots of wide open spaces with beautiful scenery to make amazing footage! @darkoulmer6881 thank you for the detailed information. I am very tempted to bring a drone but also want to be cognizant of the rules and also not to be too annoying.
For me, Zadar and Šibenik are more beautiful than Split for example. Also, Istra is as beautiful as Dalmatia. So, u have to see more from Croatia. I'm sure u will like Zadar, Šibenik and whole Istra.
We have heard that those places are very nice, which is great, it gives us a reason to return one day again!

Could you please provide info on where we can purchase the wifi hotspots and SIM cards? Thank you!
Hi @Crystal Lee, the sim cards that are valid for 30 days are Telemach and they can be purchased at any Telemach store and almost every Tisak kiosk. They have a 10GB + cell plan or a 20GB data only plan. Both of these are 75HRK. We used the data only plan because we could use whatsapp for calling. That is the only sim card I know of that are valid for 30 days. A1 and one other that I can't remember the name of now are only valid for 7 days
The wifi hot spot package we bought was at a local electronics store in Vela Luka. The 350HRK was for the sim card and 5 weeks of data. We forgot to mention in the video that you will also need the device, which we already owned. If you have to purchase one there, obviously the price will be more than 350 and I couldn't honestly say how much the device costs in Croatia.

It will be your call in bigger cities but on the islands absolutely not. I drink bottled water in Canada so I am kind of weird in that sense, but I know many people who drink the tap water in places like Split
Great video! Can you provide more information on the wifi hotspot device - where to purchase, etc.? Also do most businesses, car share, etc. use WhatsApp?
@Leanne, what I quoted in the video was the price for the data package for the wifi hotspot which we purchased in the town of Vela Luka on Korcula. We already had a wifi hotspot device so we didn't need to purchase one of those. So the 350HRK was for the sim card that gave you the 5 weeks of unlimited data. I did see them in some shops on both Korcula and in Split(didn't really look elsewhere), unfortunately, I didn't price them as we already owned ours. Should you decide to purchase a device in your home country, just make sure it is unlocked to work anywhere
Most businesses and hotels etc. did use whatsapp with only a few exceptions. As far as ride shares go, as mentioned, Uber only works in a few locations that we were in and the island of Hvar has an app called Pickapp that is similar to Uber, but when we were there there were very few vehicles available so we took the public bus which is very cheap and reliable to get to other towns on the island

I haven’t read all of the comments so it may have been answered but you talk about accommodation and choosing homestays/small family owned places - how do you find these places in advance ?
Unfortunately finding them in advance is almost impossible. Most of these places will be listed on booking or the like and then their fees are involved. You really need to reach out to these people once you are on the ground in Croatia.

No it isn't. There is no place better than Split. And, beside that, Šibenik is without the doubt the worst place in whole of Dalmatia. Fucking Juda's nest.
Been visiting 5-6 times a yr since 1984. Only people from outsider Europe would chose Juli, august and even until week 1 in in september is over. (Most schools of Europe stop here, and after that it is much cheaper, because you avoid the School holiday season , with tourists from South part of Germany, Netherlands, France, italy and more. The traffic is massive id you drive on your own through Europe! We did that a lot of times!
Take away is not as normal as in US! People go out instead!
croatia now has EURO from Jan. 1 -2023, so i guess you really was there a Long time ago?
Remember Americans experience Europe very diffrent than Europeians do.
Remember to try to keep your Voice Down, do not behave in an attentionseeking Way it attracts pickpockets..
No rucksack, or socks in the sandals , change and wear Nice clothes for dinner too!
Just like in Italy, it ismaking “Bella figura” to walk in the evening wearing very Nice clothes!
No tourist uniform.
Americans who are Loud, wearing their ruckssaks and socks , High laughter and showing off , that is a Big Big no go everywhere in Europe.
Croatia is very Nice, but you Will experience even more if you leave the tourist trail .
When Americans arrive Europe, dont #cream omg omg omg, such a pretty place, it makes the country want to send you back to US.
Downplay your apperance and use a soft voice !
If Americans are to loud, They are acceptet, but absolutely not wanted what so ever..
Remember it is their Home country, show respect to traditions, how to behave in both Croatia and the rest of Europe , it is very different from applausing your own behavior in America (i am sure not a lot of Americans are aware of that?)
