As always, another great review! You're channel is my new favorite Mac/electronics channel simply because you tell it like it is with all the caveats and everything! Keep up the great work!
Thanks! I was wondering if you have any issues with compatibility - ie. power up from sleep etc? I have a 2015 27" 5K iMac and I've been wanting a new M4 mac (mini or eventually the studio) but that $2k (Canadian) price tag on the Studio Display is a bummer. This looks like the best option so far, though I guess I will also have to get speakers.
I broke down and bought the LG 5K monitor for $1K a year ago. Very happy, no complaints driven by a Mac Mini M1. BenQ should be coming out with a 27" 5K soon, I think.
I tried to get one of these, but none were available in Canada. I. Bought the studio display, and the next day the Samsung Viewfinity S9 5K went on Black Friday sale for half price. I compared the two, side by side, and they were so close, I went with the Samsung which did come with a 4K camera too, and saved $1000 Cdn. This Asus is pretty much the same as the Samsung, and both represent great alternatives to the studio display. Thanks for the review!
Thanks. Yes they are both options for that 5k text. Seems like some monitors are hard to get now which is weird but just reality. Even Mac minis are hard to come by quickly now. Thanks for watching.
@@rewanjithe panels are equally great they just have the more expensive matte finish applied which takes away some sharpness just like the matte studio display. LG who also has a 5k display and used to makes Apples is another option. They could use better speakers and webcam, although the studios web cam is not that great, and if you have a laptop or good $100 BT speakers, soundbar, or headphones, you are golden and will have the best sound.
In January, I bought the base Studio Display for $1299 and I don't regret it. It's attached to my M2 Max MacBook Pro and I'm very happy with it. But, for my second MacBook Pro, I would definitely consider buying this monitor, because 4k monitors makes the image look fuzzy. Thanks for sharing!
I think another reason we're seeing more 5K monitors is that the new M4 Mac Mini's are great machines for multiple 5K monitors. Personally I wish someone would make a 5K monitor which was a little physically larger. Like, take a 27" 4K monitor and then make it physically larger so it is holding 5K pixels at the same number of PPI as the 4K monitor. Someday I'll sit down and figure out what that would mean for screen size. Also FWIW: I consider "no webcam" to be in the *plus* column. I don't need a web cam on a monitor, especially since I might want to rotate the monitor into portrait!
Yes, that is a good point and true. Yes, you need to add other stuff like a webcam and speakers but most I think have those (most not all). It's just another option for a less expensive setup if needed.
Thanks Craig. I wish ASUS had released this before I bought my current monitor, a budget 28" 4K Samsung (the UR55) that I use with my Mac setup. It would have been twice the price but well worth it (I have a 27" 2K ASUS that I use with my Windows setup and it is an excellent device, with pretty much the same feature set as that 5K ASUS, and great build quality for its price point).
Yes, I just found out a few weeks ago about this one but it took a while to get it in. It's a nice screen for what it is. Maybe look for a sale in the coming months.
Some newer 27” 4K monitors allow you to reduce it to 24” with black bars, this hack fixes the blurry text scaling issue. I wonder if there is an app that enables that.
@craigneidel yea true I think one of their Asus 4k gaming oleds do it essentially making it a 24' ,,4k OLED like the iMac but 240hz with black bars. Or dual mode full screen changing it to a 1440 P monitor at 460hx ,480 hz.. one mode and 4,k 240 the other mode. Mainly they are for PC gaming and creative work since they are not tied to osx retina guidelines for text size at 110 dpi and 220 dpi.or multiples. Would be interesting to see it in practice on a Mac though. I'm really interested in the Dell Asus and Ben q 6k as prices will be under $2,,k on sale. And Asus mini led HDR 8k Apples rumored 7 or 8,k mini led. And dells 8k as I have seen refurbished ones under $2k and new ones around $3500, but it still old panel tech but extremely sharp.
Great time to wait and see IMO. Many more options will be arriving to the market soon so holding out on that purchase seems like the best bet. The apple studio display is simply stunning however the question is will they even update it once all the competition is out there.
Yes, the Studio Display could get updated in the near future or not. With Apple we rarely know but I do know BenQ is also coming out with an option soon. But my guess is it will be similar to the Asus but not 100% sure.
I was still using a 27" Thunderbolt Display with my M1 Pro MBP and was happy with it because I have DAS RAID drives daisy chained off it. What I was over was the fact that it still only had USB 2.0 ports. I was saving up for a Studio Display till I found out that it does NOT have Thunderbolt downstream, so I can't daisy chain my devices from the Studio Display, so that was a deal breaker for me. I ended getting a Samsung 34" Ultra Wide curved monitor on Black Friday for $350. It has Thunderbolt 4, including downstream Thunderbolt, and USB 3.2 ports. It's only 1440p, same as the Thunderbolt Display, so I'm okay with that as i'm already used to that resolution. The only downsides is that it doesn't have a webcam and the speakers SUCK big time in comparison to the Thunderbolt Display speakers, but i can get better speakers and webcam later.
Thanks for the awesome review! I’m considering to get 2 monitors for a dual display setup. I intend to use one for Mac and another for Windows. Will the 5k monitor work well with a Windows laptop (e.g. no scaling issues)?
I think it will be Matte but not 100% sure. I talk to them but they don't give me any info really. I just try and get them to let me know about future monitors.
I have my M1 Mac Mini hooked up to a 77" OLED and my PC to a 48" OLED. To bad 8k TVs never took off for PPI users. I own Calman Home LG for my TVs I use as a monitor. Nice to see this monitor is actually calibrated.
So so so tempted to get this monitor, but I decided to go for the Apple Studio Monitor. Its costly, but I don't even want a shred of regret when using the monitor. I don't care for HDR, the dimming zones are bad, if anything I would go Oled if HDR was a must. But thanks for covering this, I may consider it when I need a second display.
Hi, Thanks for the review. I have one question. Between the PA27JCV and the Samsung viewfinity s9 27", which is the best built and with better image quality?
Really comprehensive review, thanks. I'm new to your channel, have you done a segment on speakers and webcams to add to this to match the Studio? Would be interesting to know what the price difference is when those are added back in.
Usually Mac mini owners already have loudspeakers and other peripherals and when deciding to buy a new monitor, they don’t need to think about loudspeakers etc. again.
Yes, it the way MacOS scales their displays so you can read test. 5K is optimal and on Windows machines you don't run into that issue. But, 4K is fine for most people and even me on Macs but some people really want the perfect display which is normally 5K.
@@ChrisPTY507 because it going through a lens and people then watch it on a monitor. So all that depends on how text will look. So you won't see the true sharpness.
Hello again I see that I can get to buy this monitor. Between this one and the Benq MA 270U, which one would you stay with? The difference is about €200 here in Spain
@ I've read a lot about the scaling problem with 27" monitors in 4k, that's why I'm considering the 5k Asus. In terms of image and colors, which one would you say is better?
Alright, I finally upgraded my Mac mini, but in an unexpected way. Recently I bought a Grade A+ M1 mini 16GB for only 220 quid, thinking about using it as a files and Time Machine server for my future setup, and it ruined my plan to get the M4 mini next year......M1 is way too freaking good! Now it's my main machine, my 2014 mini is my server, and I'm not planning to get the M4 any time soon, unless I can find a really good deal. Funny enough, I bought this machine from a video editor who’s upgrading to the M4 lol.
I'm not a fan of Asus. We tried one of their monitors many years ago and it did eventually die. All of the Dell Ultrasharp monitors that we've purchased over the past twenty years are still in working order. We also had a bad experience with one of their laptops - it was more an issue of lack of support. So I will not buy any Asus products. Four months ago, I bought a used iMac Pro for $800 and it's my favorite Mac. It has the 5k screen, great speakers and quad-studio microphones and a webcam. When factoring in the Apple Studio Display, remember that it includes speakers, webcam and microphones. Those things cost money and having it in the ASD means fewer cables running around your desk. The nice thing about the iMac Pro is that it's a nice Mac as well as a display. I can use it as a monitor from my Mac Studio using Airplay to Mac and I plan on testing it as a high-performance monitor using a Thunderbolt bridge network. Settings are also available from the Apple keyboard on the iMac Pro and it has four USB-C/Thunderbolt and four USB-A ports.
I have not tested this long term obviously so we will see how it performs later on. But it's still a good deal since this is the starting price and also I'm glad more people are jumping into the 5K game.
@@unclefart5527 Was this one of their consumer lines or their Ultrasharp line? I have no experience with their consumer lines (those starting with S or P).
Hi, I'm actually contemplating the same. I see that getting an iMac Pro for a decent price can be a potentially better option than buying an Asus 5K or an Apple Studio Display. However, I already have a Macbook Pro, which I would want to use occasionally with the display of the iMac. What was your experience connecting your Mac Studio with your iMac Pro via Airplay? Is the lag acceptable and what about image quality?
@@arashitakayama5600 It's really easy to use via Airplay to Mac over the LAN. There is some lag for some things but I'm using it at very high resolution. I bought a Thunderbolt cable to test it over a Thunderbolt Bridge though I plan to. run that test on my M1 Pro MacBook Pro. I've no reason to believe that it won't work as I've heard from many other people that got it to work with the regular 5k iMacs. I have at least almost four years of macOS operating system support so it's not something that I need to do in the near term but I will test it out in the next couple of weeks.
@@reyals66 ASUS just announced this for display at CES January 2025: "32-inch ASUS ProArt Display 6K PA32QCV features a 6016 x 3384 resolution with 216 pixels per inch (PPI), 98% DCI-P3 and 100% sRGB coverage. Features two Thunderbolt 4 ports with 96W Power Delivery and daisy-chain support."
That's a tough call on the monitor. I would look at the specs and see what is best for you. The BenQ is a larger screen and 4K with every nice color accuracy. The Asus is 5K. I'm not sure which one I would get if I had to pick and need to think about that. Thanks for watching.
Hi Craig….i bought the LG ultra wide monitor, 40 inches 95C. I used the Apple cables, plugging in the Thunderbolt cable into the ports of the monitor and my Mac Mini Pro. I turn on the monitor, and I see the LG letters floating onscreen. I turn on the Mac Mini Pro……AND NOTHING SHOWS UP ON THE SCREEN. I hear the speaker from the Mac Mini Pro talking about keyboard, etc…..WHAT am I doing wrong ? Isn’t it just plug and play ? Every tutorial on taking the monitor out of the box and the Mac Mini Pro……then shows the onscreen beginning of setting up your computer. I can’t even get there. Any ideas why I’ve got nothing ? Do I have to buy a new mouse and keyboard ? SHOULDN’T the connection of the thunderbolt bring the Mac Mini Pro on the screen ? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
I don't have that model but have you reached out to LG for their solution yet? Maybe try and change the input to be Thunderbolt and it could be HDMI or something like that (should be in settings of monitor which you can get to). It should work but you might be on the wrong input. Also try connecting via HDMI for a test.
@craigneidel yeah, I didn't know that BenQ was coming out with a 5k until you mentioned it in your video. So I think I'm going to wait and see what they have to offer before I make my decision. Thanks for all your work in the videos
Yes it’s good to have another 5k monitor out there but honestly the build quality of this thing seems horrible. The way it wiggles and wobbles around is such a dealbreaker for a monitor at this price range. I hope they (or Benq) will package the 32”/6k version of this panel in a much better and sturdier way. 27” is getting a bit small these days.
Not really a 77% more workspace situation unless you’re at 100% scaling though is it, and everything would be unreadable, would be interesting to know the actual average increase in work space given the default scaling options on both 4 and 5k
That's a good point about the 77%. It's marketing-speak. Like so many things, you lose information when boiling stuff down into a number. The important thing to keep in mind is that Apple designs MacOS around certain resolutions, 5K being one of them. The fuzziness is real, and 4K monitors have less flexibility.
The 5k on 27 inch is basically the studio display. I think that might be a touch better just because it's made directly for apple but they are close. Matte screen makes it hard to compare.
I like the additional ports but I feel the LG 5K 27" display would be b better for another $100.00 as it has a nice camera and good speakers, glossy display and is more Apple friendly.
Yes, there are pros and cons for sure and some people like the Matte display. Also, this is a starting price at launch so it could get more exciting a few months down the road.
@craigneidel I check my piggy bank for funds, and just laughed at me. I believe Apple will be updating their monitors before Christmas. There may also be oled options by the next Ces with similar specs? So I'm forced to admire from a distance. 🙄😏❤️
@craigneidel they might. Apple has been surprising us lately. This 6k might be a collaboration between apple and LG. A 27". 5k tb5 120hz ips version of the 6k is a win win at $999;all metal. I think the Ben Q 5k will be $999 Not 120hz or tb5 though but awesome everywhere else.
@@craigneidel Because the output of de Nintendow switch is 1080p @60Hz, this means that the monitor does the upscaling right to 5K. The same question for the old PS4, this output to also 1080p @60Hz. Do you have a way to check this out? Maybe borrowing a console from a neighbor or family member? Kind regards and thank you for responding.
Why isn't an ethernet port a standard feature on monitors these days. They are basically a hub but without an ethernet port you still need something else.
@@craigneidel how is an ethernet port niche? It's always faster than wifi - why would anyone not want to connect their laptop via ethernet when it's docked to their monitor?
I mean for an average user but yet many use Ethernet. But like 80% (I read one time) just use wifi and that is I guess what they build the monitors for. The masses to sell more and keep costs down.
I wish there was 32" 5K2K monitor. Nowadays I can only find to massive 40" monitors with 5K2K. I think 27" is a little bit too small to my taste. Somehow they stopped making 32/34" 5K2K screens. You can find some Old Stock New Box items but not sure I want to go for that. Anyone heard anything about the 32" 6K Asus monitor?
For some reason they can't really figure out yet how to make a 5K 32" besides the 6K $5,000 Apple monitor. But the tech costs are coming down so maybe in 2025.
This is still in my short list, assuming it ever becomes available in the UK and isn't insanely expensive (as things here often are, they tend to just do a find and replace of the $ for £). The BenQ 5K display uses the same panel from my understanding gut what I've seen of that is better build quality and I kind of prefer the design. Again, that doesn't seem to be available right now though lol. I may just end up saving more and getting the Studio Display. My luck is they'll release a new one with a refreshed improved panel and a Thunderbolt 5 hub built in for the same price a few days outside of the no questions asked return window haha.
Funny, I hear you. When you buy something there will always be something new the next day. That is fine. I should review the BenQ 5K sooner or later too and can compare them.
I seen reviews that the Samsung monitor just goes to sleep and the Mac won’t wake it up and requires a restart. How well does it work with Mac? Even though I suspect Apple with their business practices are fucking around deliberately to make you purchase their display. Are the usb ports reliable?
Thanks so much for your review! I currently have an M1 MacMini with an Apple Studio Display. I am planning to upgrade to the M4 and have been pondering a second 5K display. What I like about the Asus are the multiple inputs that would allow me to switch between a second screen for my M4 or a screen for my windows work laptop. I am wondering how the two displays look side by side (not the physical build but the displays). Anybody have any insight into this?
@ That’s exactly how you see it. Saw someone else do this and was a bit disappointed. Almost bought it, but with that much bleed, degradation will happen faster.
This is a great second display to add to the Apple Studio display. This display without a camera, a microphone, and with crappy sound isn’t great as a primary display, as you would have to add a camera, a standalone microphone (camera mics are crappy), and stand-alone speakers. Too much clutter and not very cost effective. But if you use Apple Studio display as your primary one, this Asus 5K display is a great option to be used as a secondary display, and will save you about $500 compared to buying another Apple Studio Display.
@@craigneidelit’s a great main display for a cube in the office, where one would use the laptop’s mic and camera. For a home office, where the laptop is likely in clamshell mode, this should not be a primary display. Consider adding a nice mic, a pair of nice speakers, and a nice camera, and you end up only a couple hundred dollars away from the Apple Studio Display.

@@craigneidel Let's not negotiate $ quite yet 😉 Let's get them screens on the market first and then we'll see. I really cannot understand why several years after 8k screens having been already piloted, including 8k dell computer screen, several 5k2k screens as well as 5 years after 6k from Apple at a ridiculous price, we still have to get excited about 5k+ resolution screens, if we're lucky to see one released. Is there any kind of technological blocker to get those slightly bigger slightly denser slightly cheaper screens rolling out? Don't get me wrong. This Asus is a great deal IMO, but that's still 27". We've already seen those. That's not a real improvement over my 27" 4k screen, when going for productivity. That's 20% more crispness, nothing else. I'm simply fed up with this industry, releasing hundreds of new models for gamers, improving ridiculous refresh rates by 10% ot 20% while there's been years of stagnation in offers for professionals who can live without fancy parameters and simply value real estate and their eyes.
I really wish these brands would step up their game and invest in some serious industrial design, including materials - they all look the same. Seriously, Apple need competion at this level and no one seems interested in providing.
I've been using an inexpensive ($350) 43" 4k Smart TV for the last year at 1920 x 1080 (default). I love it! I use it for browsing and Logic Pro but the best is watching the NBA and NFL over here in Thailand. Am I the only one who does this?
decent video. but you forget a key issue versus the Studio Display. Teh Asus works as well in PC and Mac. For apple to almost ring fence their monitors to only fully work with apple computers and for one to have to pay extra for basic ergnomic adjustments is really disgusting. no serious company can do that and also claim they worry about inclusivity of people with different needs nor the environment (apple model will lead to a lot of ewaste)
Asus had to make the design a little bit prettier and raise 50 bucks. It's a shame that the design is the same as the low-end 300-dollar Asus 4k monitor. That bunch of front buttons is terrible
It’s not good unfortunately with bad light bleed on the edges. it’s just sightly better than the terrible Samsung S9 just wished they stopped putting stupid things like speakers and horrible web cams and just do a good monitor

Yes, the Studio Display could get updated in the near future or not. With Apple we rarely know but I do know BenQ is also coming out with an option soon. But my guess is it will be similar to the Asus but not 100% sure.
Looks pretty good! If the dell 32" i ordered isn't up for the task this may be the best option for the new mini
Yeah it's another one to put on your radar.
Dude, the 6k?
@@MysterCannabis oh god no lol. i got the U3223QE 4k 32" i've heard the scaling is better on 32" so i wont know until i get it
I was still using a 27" Thunderbolt Display with my M1 Pro MBP and was happy with it because I have DAS RAID drives daisy chained off it.
Thanks for the info on this as it helps others decide what they should do. Also thanks for watching.
we need more options for 6k 32 inch! ... Mac OS is created for single screen usage and therefore 27" 5k is not enough in my opinion.
The issue is with bandwidth so maybe Thunderbolt 5 could change that.
Great video!!
Would you recommend this monitor over the BenQ PD 2725 U ?
It's two different things. So hard to say. Both are so different.
@ I really like this one for the 5k but the other is good for photo editing!!!!
Ben q has a 5k coming out in 2025
Thanks for the awesome review! I’m considering to get 2 monitors for a dual display setup. I intend to use one for Mac and another for Windows. Will the 5k monitor work well with a Windows laptop (e.g. no scaling issues)?
@WaftureRobin I think it will work great as long as the computer can handle 5k resolutions. Thank you.
Ben Q is working on a 5k as well
Yes I said in video
@craigneidel yep I missed that after second watch.
I wonder if it is glossy or mattr
I think it will be Matte but not 100% sure. I talk to them but they don't give me any info really. I just try and get them to let me know about future monitors.
Any further details? Thinking of pd3225u but would wait for 5k 27
No details yet.
I have my M1 Mac Mini hooked up to a 77" OLED and my PC to a 48" OLED. To bad 8k TVs never took off for PPI users. I own Calman Home LG for my TVs I use as a monitor. Nice to see this monitor is actually calibrated.
Yes, not bad for the price and it provides some new options and some more competition.
The Studio will be a bit better but it's also double the price. Thanks for watching the channel and good luck with everything.
Hi, Thanks for the review. I have one question. Between the PA27JCV and the Samsung viewfinity s9 27", which is the best built and with better image quality?
It's hard for me as I don't have them side by side now
Really comprehensive review, thanks. I'm new to your channel, have you done a segment on speakers and webcams to add to this to match the Studio? Would be interesting to know what the price difference is when those are added back in.
Usually Mac mini owners already have loudspeakers and other peripherals and when deciding to buy a new monitor, they don’t need to think about loudspeakers etc. again.

Well my question is why cant the text be made crisper on a 4k display??? And is this a problem only in ios
Yes, it the way MacOS scales their displays so you can read test. 5K is optimal and on Windows machines you don't run into that issue. But, 4K is fine for most people and even me on Macs but some people really want the perfect display which is normally 5K.
Some close ups of the text quality compared to the studio display would have been really helpful.
It's too hard to really capture that on camera.
Why hard?
@@ChrisPTY507 because it going through a lens and people then watch it on a monitor. So all that depends on how text will look. So you won't see the true sharpness.
I just got this monitor and I am loving every part of it. Let me know if anyone has questions.

Hello again I see that I can get to buy this monitor. Between this one and the Benq MA 270U, which one would you stay with? The difference is about €200 here in Spain
They are both great. If you need 5K then the more expensive one is better but if not the BenQ is a great mac monitor for the colors.
@ I've read a lot about the scaling problem with 27" monitors in 4k, that's why I'm considering the 5k Asus. In terms of image and colors, which one would you say is better?
@oliv200 I think BenQ is better on colors but scaling sharpness better on 5k.

Nice.. also no need to upgrade if the m1 works good for you.
Does it do Daisy Chain?
I would look at specs on the Amazon or BenQ page as I listed all the specs and links in the video description.
My Dell grew a few coloured lines in it a year past warranty. Not a cheap monitor. Garbage. Never bought a Dell product since. Money down the drain.
I love my Apple Studio Display!
Yes, that is a great monitor but this is about half the cost so a new option is a good thing.

Hello. Great channel. Very informative. I just ordered an IMac Mini. Would you get this monitor or the BenQ PD3225U. I am coming from an iMac 2019 5K
@ hi Craig…used the HDMI and everything showed up….thank you for your insight….
Glad it worked.
Can you use an external calibrator on this unit…..and in any of the color profiles?
Thanks.
Yes, I believe so but this is all on the Asus links I provided. It has a ton of color profiles and I outlined a few in the video.
Would you take this Asus 5k monitor over the BenQ PD2725U?
It's a tough call for sure. I do like the 5K for the resolution though and should be reviewing a BenQ 5K in the future I hope too.
@craigneidel yeah, I didn't know that BenQ was coming out with a 5k until you mentioned it in your video. So I think I'm going to wait and see what they have to offer before I make my decision. Thanks for all your work in the videos
@ajenks73 for sure and good luck with everything.
I would expect with the IPS black you should be getting darker blacks than what Apple and Samsung are offering.
It's nice but I haven't really tested against the other two yet.
Is there any scaling issue with mac mini ?
Not on a 5K monitor.
It's not terrible by any means and I think good enough like I said for most. The screen tech is expensive on 5K or many would be making them.
Hey! Can this monitor daisy chain to another exact same monitor - eg. 2 x 5K monitors? Thanks!
I would look up on Amazon to see if this is the case but I don't think so or at least I can find that it can daisy chain.
Not really a 77% more workspace situation unless you’re at 100% scaling though is it, and everything would be unreadable, would be interesting to know the actual average increase in work space given the default scaling options on both 4 and 5k
Yeah it matters what you have workspace resolution at. Some like really small text but on 5k the display is normally 1440p res
How do you think this would compare to an older 2017 5k iMac? Better, worse or about the same?
The 5k on 27 inch is basically the studio display. I think that might be a touch better just because it's made directly for apple but they are close. Matte screen makes it hard to compare.
Can't get before Christmas :(
many things are delayed now.
I'd like a glossy version
I like glossy to but this is half the cost so just a decision people need to make.
@ Would matte not be more expensive for asus to make?
Not sure. I think Glossy is since almost nobody does it.
Almost there. Just need a 16:10 with gloss 😅
Yeah, but you could be waiting a few years for that one.
So, I thought the base m4, only did 4k, so how is this better, is it that 218 figure that really counts ?
@@MatthewBlue-yg1wk you are talking about thunderbolt 5 not 5k. Two completely different things. 5k is resolution.

Not sure but I have done other videos on this and it should be similar.
Depends on the need. This monitor has much better specs for design/photo work than the LG.
Not sure how this Asus monitor stacks up against the BenQ PD3225U. Plus, the Asus PA27JCV isn’t even available for sale in Singapore.
Yeah, if not available then it's not a good option. They are two different monitors in quite a few ways so hard to compare the two.

@@kylenwilliams7867 I have not had any issues like that personally while using the monitor.
It's not a bad display and slightly different than the studio display but there are so many ways to dial it in that you can match them pretty well.
Instead of spending 799 for desktop why cant we buy imac? Is there any difference?😊
If the iMac is right then get the iMac. This is a larger screen for one.
It’s a nice monitor and I like Asus. But, it has way too much light bleed for my taste. Would stay with the Ben Q MA or PD.
I'm not sure you can see that through a camera. It's not bad and good for price in my opinion.
@ That’s exactly how you see it. Saw someone else do this and was a bit disappointed. Almost bought it, but with that much bleed, degradation will happen faster.
I'm pretty happy with this one for the cost.
The disadvantage is that the new ASUS has a grainy panel that looks completely rough.
It doesn't look rough to me. It's Matte and looks like Matte vs glossy.
Yes, it would be a great second display for sure. I like it for a main display for a bunch of people too.
@@craigneidelit’s a great main display for a cube in the office, where one would use the laptop’s mic and camera. @@craigneidel Hard to see things in person when they are only online here is AU - I can only go by what the reviewers show - and on another review it delved deeper into the display and back light issues - I should have clarified that for a basic use Craig's recommendation is spot on - not so much for colour accurate work
@@PaulCarmona it's fine I was just wondering if you used it. I think it could be used for design work if dialed in but for sure there are more professional monitors. Thanks for watching the channel. Appreciate that.
U don't need 5k.. waste of onet. U ca bearly se anny difference between 2k an 4k. 5k in a pc monitor is absolutely waste of money
That is your opinion which is fine but many people buy a $1,500 monitor so some must like it.
Why does anyone need 5K If I.m doing VideoI want to make/see it like 99% of my audiance sees it. Unfortunantly today that's YOU TOBE in a SMART PHONE. Small Pic, Lousy Sound. I use my 4K UHDTV with Vizio 5.1 Sourround Bar. Yes I make 5.1 Surround Videos.
People that do print and design work like it as they take very high resolution pictures (like wedding photography for one example) and want to see all the pixels.
Too small
For you but not for many.
@@craigneidelThere are a lot like me
32 inch LG 6K coming out but 2.5K most likely.
I wish they would make a 38 or a 42-43 inch 5 k-6k it's very nice if you have a relatively big desk.
Yeah, not going to happen any time soon. Tehy have a 43 inch 4K from LG right now and I had it in my last January tech specials video.
And here we go again. Biggest stiff a company has down is take the 5K iMac off the market and replace it with thousands of dollars of separates like the grossly overpriced Mac 27".
Not sure what you said
Please please review a 27” or 32” oled for a comparison shootout.🤔🫣🤫🍎🙂
Asus makes a few Samsung LG Alienware and others.
I think more people will have to think long and hard between superior 1000 nit plus 27 to 32” 240hz dual mode olds for about the same money.
Aside from Mac osx GUI text scaling and resolution they are superior in every way.
And still color accurate for photo editing and better for video editing with real hdr no blooming infinite contrast.
Smoother scrolling and almost no latency or ghosting in Games.
I am not Richie rich so can't but all that but I'll review what I get in. Thanks for watching.
@craigneidel ill see what I can do with my connections..🫣🤔
I thought you were leaving added😉🤥
@@Tigerex966 see if you can ship them to me with your connections.
@craigneidel will do.
Asus 8k mini led comes to mind 😊
Ok thanks.
