Shastar Vidiya a good style but there are two things which all traditional martial artists must be aware of
1) If you teach internal style mechanics you MUST know what chi is at the health level (via good, grounded chi kung study with an unpretentious teacher). Around 80 percent of traditional martial artists have SEVERE chi or kundalini problems and severe spiritual pollution and mental illness. This causes mass derangement in traditional arts styles, which spreads like wildfire and turns the vast majority of traditional artists into drooling potatoes who are somewhere between alive and dead, not even able to communicate with near family members for their glassy eyed monged-out natures.
2)Traditional artists must create drills which keep them strong and even have sporting elements to them, alongside the more internal mechanics, as this is really to create some of the conditions of the old warriors who were running around in fields all day. It will also help with the kundalini/negative entity possession which the vast majority of traditional artists suffer from. A healthy respect for MMA will also help you here.
Good luck and although it is good to be light hearted in training, these above points are the difference between living well or physical and psychic destruction.

@@tommckellen342 You make good points, but I would add that the health consequences of using pranayama can be dangerous to the point of being lethal to the practitioner, and advanced yogis know about them. Like you teach a soldier to fire a gun differently from a target shooter or hunter, the idea of qi is useful. However, the essence of how different arts work differ depending on the culture using them. Like Jewish or Muslim debaters aren't using peripatetic logic but rather shouting and grandstanding until one of them assaults the other, so they keep their hand and elbow together to be ready to counterattack while covering their vitals, so their martial arts are based around that and only work best in that situation. Indian martial arts are based on kshatriya values, e.g. not giving ground but always advancing, so they work best on the battlefield. Therefore, the martial art is separated out from health.
I belong to an introvert Brahmin Vaishnav Family. But I always wanted to learn Shastra Vidya from a Nihang Sikh. Now I can. SATSHREEAKAL JAI SHREE RAAM.

We need to hire these gurus to universities or in army school to teach these Vidyas ... in today's world these are necessary to calm mind and body.

There was a talk sometime back I had heard where the speaker said that Hindus today are helpless against organised violence…. It’s a known fact which keeps on perpetrating time and again across India where blood thirsty religiously motivated mobs have attacked and killed Hindus … Nuh was the latest one… it goes without saying that the British rule in India broke the martial spirit and built a pool of “managers” which till date remains… it’s the moral and essential obligation of every Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist and Jain to ensure their kids apart from the acedemic angle get trained in at least one martial art and what better to learn than our own home grown martial combat … the govt also needs to do its bit… such amazing talent as the Guru here needs to be funded and supported by govt to be able to provide subsidized training to every single kid across India …

The role of Temples are revival of teaching Sanatani religious literature, Sanatani culture, Sanatani traditions, celebrating Sanatani festivals, supporting poor Hindu population, development of Skills for poor Hindus, medical assistance, martial arts classes for Hindu devotees, Big data processing units,information technologies department,matrimonial functions for Hindus, apologetics departments, polemics departments, Ghar Wapsi departments, supporting X- Muslim movement departments, etc etc . Do we have such institutions in the new Temple of Ayodhya, if not we are loosing the civilization war .
The collections of Hindu Temples should be exclusively diverted to special accounts and used exclusively by and for Sanatanis for Sanatani cause under special protection of Sanatanis.

Gist of Vedas, Gita must be taught in schools (I don't know if it's already).
Like in Israel, Govt should make it mandatory for all college pass out students to get trained/ work for a year or two in defence. They should be given some incentive, weightage in Govt jobs and territorial army.
