Actually that shloka which is forwarded in WhatsApp University doesn't give complete picture, one has to look at it in context. And there are many other instances where the devatas are told to be 36,333 and more according to the context. And it's even mentioned 33 crore as well. Just to give some references for devata numbers mentioned in different contexts (some numbers in different contexts): Yajurveda Samhita Adhyaya 33, Sloka 7 ("3,339 devatas drink chandrasth amrut") ; Vishnu Purana 2.12.7 (36,333 devas honor agni); - So, the number is clearly larger than 33 koti allegedly "33 types" Then, moving on to : Skanda Purana Maheshwar Khand 3.6.7 (33 koti devas) ; Skanda Purana Kasi khand 62.99 or Uttarardha 12.99 ( 33 koti devas, then listing 1 koti 2 hundred thousand Ganas, nine koti chamundas, koti Bhairavis... Etc... clearly here "koti" is "number" not "type". More over Durga Devi or any other Devi or Ganeshji, or any other devatas are not present in the 33 koti (alleged "types") devatas. Then what should we categorise other divine beings such as Ganesha, Maha kali Devi, Saraswati devi, Brahma Dev, Kartikeya, Yamraj, Kamadeva, Nidradevi, Shani deva, Brihaspati deva, Annapurna Devi, Durga Devi, Parvati Devi, Manasa Devi, Vaishno Devi, Katyayani Devi, Riddhi, Siddhi, Ashwini kumaras, Tulasi Devi, Bhudevi, Narada, Ganga devi, Hamunanji (the next Brahmadev), Kamadenu Devi, Seshnag, Devi Chamunda, Kuber, Apsaras, etc etc.... All these big list of devatas are clearly not included in the alleged "33 types" argument of the WhatsApp University, where the 33 types (koti) containing 8 Vasus, 11 Rudras, 12 Adityas, Indra and Prajapati. The 33 types mentioned is correct but it's not the full list. The example references I've clearly gave a minimum of 36,333 count of devas (in Vishnu Purana) even if we exclude all the numbers in 'koti' assuming the koti means type, and for someone who doesn't believe in Smriti, Shruti - Yajur Veda gave a number of 3,339 devas. So, it's clearly not just 33 devas. And what's wrong with accepting 33 crore devatas, when our culture sees every aspect of nature as controlled by a divine being, we even have preciding deity for sleep (Nidra devi), one for each natural element, etc etc... and this universe has so many aspects of it that why can't there be so many devatas taking care of so many aspects. Even every village has a gram devata or Kula devata preciding over their village. There are so many manifestations of the divine, that the list should be very large. Of course the source of everything is Paramatma, parabrahma, but that doesn't mean the manifestations of the divine in so many forms and aspects of the nature has to be denied. Just because the ignorant converters use this argument, who will you worship, you'll be confused, doesn't mean we have to forgo our roots to fit their logic. We see divine in everything, and there is no one fit for all. That's the core of our culture, dharma, that everyone is unique and is in their unique path to self realisation, and according to their spiritual stage, and spritual needs and inclinations they can worship a specific aspect of the divine to elevate themselves. Just because 33 crore devatas are there doesn't mean we have to worship everyone. We respect everyone and we revere everyone, but we develop a personal relationship with some specific forms of the divine and worshipping them is sufficient as ultimately that divine connection is what's important for personal spiritual growth than keeping numbers.

💥This is exactly the difference between Dharm & Religions - You are encouraged to have as many qualities that Bhagwans have in yourself in Dharm. You are supposed to invoke those qualities (Godliness) in you. That is what the concept of Darshan is. Sanatan says you got all capabilities to empower the element of supreme which is already existing in you. In Religions, you have the concept of God & followers, where you cannot even imagine his attributes. God, according to them is unreachable & not definable.

I am an advaitha follower(only single brahman-singularity) and Shiva being supreme n originator of everybthing(also shakthi(half part of Shiva-famously termed as Ardhanaarishwar). We believe that mutually Shiva and Vishnu chant each other while in Dhyana. In fact it is so intrigue to know that while Shiva grant all sort of whishes of his devotee irrespective of whether he is a devas, Asuraas, Munushayaas etx and what is the intention behind it. But Vishnu being preserver and more calculative. He then go and defend or destroy thoae who misuse of these grants from Shiva. This is how both are murually connected.
I loved this podcast , because i am a non practising Hindu , but a spiritual person , believing in mutual respect of religious wisdom rather than tolerance of a religion .this is the consciousness i grew up with being a Hindu. I can fully a appreciate this conversation , because the questions are great and the answers are from our ancient wisdom . And i too have observed that from Star wars to Metrix and super heroes hollywood movies have borrowed and digested into American pop culture and its soft powers . the Ancient hindu scriptures ,just have too many similarities to parts of other religions and their stories/mythologies . But ancient scriptures were sip files preserved to be expanded with the evolution of intellect .

Few Corrections Swami Ji: 1. Krishna is an avatar of Vishnu from the Dwapara Yuga, while Rama is an avatar from the Treta Yuga. Both are considered incarnations of Vishnu but in human form. 2. Hanuman is often mistakenly referred to as a "monkey god." However, the name "Hanuman" originates from "Hanu," meaning a swollen jaw. This injury occurred when Indra, the god of heaven, rain, and thunder, struck young Hanuman with his thunderbolt, the Vajra. Hanuman had mistaken the sun for an orange and flown towards it. 3. Mother Anjana, the biological mother of Hanuman was an Apsara earlier but when she was cursed by Rishi Durvasa that she will remain a monkey till she gives birth to Shiva's Rudra. Hanuman was born half human and half monkey however since he was Shiva's Rudra, he could shape-shift into any animal and he could change his size at will, from microscopic to colossal, from Human to Monkey to a Deer. Hanuman is blessed with विकृति(Vikruti). So no, he was not Monkey but our Bajranjbali, a Vanara. A race of people in ancient India WHO DWELLED IN FORESTS who possesed super natural powers and were closer to Shiva than ordinary humans.

As an Indian, I only learnt the meaning of the word Mandir today. It's sad how we gave up on Sanskrit.
We belive in rebirth and belive the soul is in everything therefore have respect for nature. Same as African culture. We live to protect life.
Google "castism is firmly entrenched in the social structure of Mauritius India today" report. It's same in Indonesia's Bali too. Hinduism = Caste system and casteism. Africa is too beautiful to be casteist. I don't want to see Africa being casteist. Stay away from it guys.

The Progenitor really hit the lottery having a son like Savya
Not really in HAVING a son like Savya, but in giving to the world via his seed an enlightened one like Savyasaci the Monk!
@@007datyit’s not about the seed brother , it is because of the land in which it grows…her mother is the sole responsible person for having an enlightened son like him …I really respect n appreciate her
@@shashankdixit8682 , then simply state Mother. Why use "Progenitor" which by default tends to imply the male variant to a very large fraction of readership. Whereas in Savyasaci the Monk's , the male progenitor did no discernible parenting.
He added more Karma. Karma increases in a sexual species. Humans are no more than animals that multiply like insects without any knowledge about higher purpose of life. If humans were so perfect that they never brought a child into this world nor indulged in pleasure for selfish reasons, then Kalyug would've become Satyug long long ago.
As a Bhartiya I wish African spirituality must rise. It's about time that one of the resource rich land and land of strongest humans break the mental roadblock of rigid Ideologies. And advance the humanity forward.

Ancient India had connections with Africa, we both continents were invaded, colonised, our people worked as slaves and send all around the world, both made to be ashamed of our culture and belief, both were made to think we are somehow inferior, both were forced converted by Christians and later Islam, even our sacred texts mention Africa so we Indians feel more connected or friendship with Africa. It is like both brothers suffered same fate and now beginning to re emerge

It wasn't a religion. The concept of Religion never existed before Abrahamic cults came into existence. Sanatan Dharma has always been a way of life. However, in today's world, in order to survive, we have to call our way of life a religion otherwise we as Hindus would never get equal rights as that of Islam or Christianity.

Swamiji, I want to express my views on the number of gods in Sanatana Dharma.
Because God can take any form,, there can be an infinite number of forms. So, the number of Gods in Sanatana Dharma is infinity.
One of the meanings of "Koti" in Sanskrit is "Type". As per the Sanatana Dharma belief system, there are 33 types of gods.
The number 33 comes from the number of Vedic gods explained by Yajnavalkya in Brhadaranyaka Upanishad - the eight Vasus, the eleven Rudras, the twelve Adityas, Indra and Prajapati. (Chapter I, hymn 9, verse 2) . They are: 8-Vasu, 11-Rudra, and 12-Aaditya, 1-Indra and 1-Prajaapati.

God created man for eternal life. But when Adam ate of the tree, he/ mankind got separated from the Source of Life , which brought into creation, sin suffering death and eternal separation, the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good/ evil. The wages of sin is death and nothing we do can return life back into us. That’s why Life Himself Jesus Christ veiled His Divinity in flesh to come as a man , not from mortal Adam of sin nature, to take OUR death upon Himself, destroy its power by His resurrection, to make us a new creation, born of The Spirit for righteousness unto eternal life.
In short, without His Life Giving Spirit indwelling us , we have no eternal life

As an British Indian Hindu, I was so fascinated by seeing two African men discussing my religion! This is something I’ve never witnessed before. I was very sad to hear how being stripped of much of your own culture has negatively affected you. Jai Shri Khrisna🙏🏼

SANATAN DHARAM IS THE ORIGINAL FORM OF RELIGION. HOWEVER HINDU CAME OUT OF IT AND HAS CULTURAL AND OTHER LOCAL TRADITIONS. SANATAN DHARAM IS UNIVERSAL AND JUST LIKE PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY, MATHS, BIOLOGY, POLITICAL SCIENCE ETC DOES NOT HAVE ANY SINGLE FOUNDER BUT SEVERAL CONTRIBUTORS OVER SEVERAL CENTURIES. JUST LIKE ALL SCIENCE LAWS ARE UNIVERSALLY APPLICABLE SO ARE THE TEACHINGS OF SANATAN DHARAM. THEY ARE NOT PROPRIETY OF ANY SPECIFIC GROUP OR SECT
@@rajb1468 almost, Buddha Dhamma is called Sanatan Dhamma in Dhammapada.

If you followed the interview carefully you would realize that Sanatan Dharma does not belong to one country or one culture or one language. It is Eternal Dharma for the whole universe. It just so happens to be continuously followed in the Bharat Khand. In the future it may be brought back to all the nations of the world....Truth always triumphs.

I'm only 16 mins in and I like. I like very much! The sweetness of the divine can be tasted here. But at the end of the day it's about meeting the deepest human desire - for happiness and love.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Request go through the book "Bhagbat Gita " then you can know about Sanatan dharma.
Hope you know Kushite Empire of Africa actually a kingdom of Kusha, the son of Lord Rama
I don't think this is true. The Puranas actually do give a genealogical lineage of Kush. And both Lava and Kush went to the North of India and ruled 2 cities there. The Kushites were Ethiopian I believe. Although the names sound similar, I think that's a coincidence. The descendants of Kush weren't called Kushites. But it would be interested to do some DNA testing of ancient remains and see how related we all are. Maybe descendants of Kush did end up in Africa... It's possible.

Very valuable conversation. As a born hindu who is also a spiritual seeker I appreciate the openness of both.

Thanks Swamiji for making aware to the world about true Hinduism..
Hinduism is fascinating and complex. Total respect !
Hinduism is not bound by one particular book or books. It's has continuesly revived itself and will continue to do so. Not like some abrahmic religion which is struck in 6th century. That's the reason it's called sanatan which means eternal.

Why Hindu no bro 😢
From darkness into a greater darkness. To become a hindu is partake of sin of cursing god and parents. Hinduism has cursed each and every god, gods are like mother and father. The greatest sin!
He is a sadhu, obviously he will be better than you
Pranaam savyasachi das, we indians are proud of u, sanatana dharma u are promoting everywhere, we love u
I'm from India and this guy knows more than me and probably more than 99.999 percent hindus
Note: not 33 million. Its written 33 koti that means types. Please check the sanskrit. Koti can means crore or types. In this context it means types.
Actually that shloka which is forwarded in WhatsApp University doesn't give complete picture, one has to look at it in context. And there are many other instances where the devatas are told to be 36,333 and more according to the context. And it's even mentioned 33 crore as well.
Just to give some references for devata numbers mentioned in different contexts (some numbers in different contexts):
Yajurveda Samhita Adhyaya 33, Sloka 7 ("3,339 devatas drink chandrasth amrut") ; Vishnu Purana 2.12.7 (36,333 devas honor agni); - So, the number is clearly larger than 33 koti allegedly "33 types"
Then, moving on to : Skanda Purana Maheshwar Khand 3.6.7 (33 koti devas) ; Skanda Purana Kasi khand 62.99 or Uttarardha 12.99 ( 33 koti devas, then listing 1 koti 2 hundred thousand Ganas, nine koti chamundas, koti Bhairavis... Etc... clearly here "koti" is "number" not "type".

It’s very shocking and wonderful watching African people adopting and trying to understand Sanatan Hindu Dharma(religion) 😮. It is very interesting that they are interested in the oldest religion and culture and wanting to explore the root of the indus valley indian civilisation. I think we are on right tracks. 👍🏻

India i.e bharath originated from African land. The roots for both lands are same. Because of the oldest civilization we still exist. Religion like Christianity pushed on millions of people by imperial british forcefully. Now is the time eveybody should go back to our old wisdom and roots. African continent is abundant with many cultures and should revive them. Hinduism is not religion simple guide to spirituality and final path to God. You have then not learned the text very well, because no where in any ancient Indian text says that there is only one way. It actually tells you have your own choice. The word Hinduism doesn't occur in our texts as the interviewer indicated it was a name given to people of the Indus river. However everyone is bound by Sanatan Dharma which just means Universal laws.

💥This is exactly the difference between Dharm & Religions -
You are encouraged to have as many qualities that Bhagwans have in yourself in Dharm.

From darkness into a greater darkness. To become a hindu is partake of sin of cursing god and parents. Hinduism has cursed each and every god, gods are like mother and father. The greatest sin!
As a Hindu you can worship any god from any religion but if you want enlightenment there are so many ways you can choose whether it is a Adwaitha (Non Dualism) Like the Movie matrix, Yoga , Sanyasam...and many more , in Hinduism says May All Beings in the World Everywhere Be Happy and Free,

@@rohitborayan Hinduism is a cursed religion by cursed brahmins who went around cursing gods and each other. Look it up. It is a trap, it is the matrix. The matrix is about Buddhism, not hinduism which is nothing more than worshipping monkeys, tress and cows.
Namaskara Savyasachi das ji. Very nicely explined the concept of sanatan dharma.
It's better to be a non practicing Hindu than being a radical Muslim.
Rishi Charwak was a non practicing Hindu/atheist - non believer in moksha and Nirvana yet lived happily in his times without being exterminated or banished. That's the beauty of sanatan dharm.

Jai shree Krishna 🙏 Hinduism is sanathan dharma eternal and everlasting with great teaching and philosophy 🙏
Hare Krsna. I thought the host did a great job interviewing Savya Prabhu. Very nice to see someone so genuinely interested.
1:14:38 one important point to highlight that a lot of explanation if hindu philosophy or bhagwat geeta requires knowledge of Sanskrit and use of some of the words as is as there is no alternative english words for those Sanskrit words and hence people can end up misunderstanding or interpreting the key message
Pranam Savyasachi guru 🙏🙏🙏
Hinduism/Santana Dharma=freedom. No body forces me to do worship or pray or anything. I pray when I want . I worship when I want. That's why I love my god not fearing him ❤❤

This is how a podcast should be clear questions and clear answers, throughout this conversation i liked the part where penuel atleast acknowledges that christianity travelled to africa through Invasion which people don't understand, and this itself is a validation that if the britishers were the followers of christianity (peace and love), why would they treat fellow africans or any other as slaves they should have preached love among them🤨
Greetings from 🇮🇳
No Bhakthi (devotion) without unity. God is with every living thing on earth. Mahabharata shows us discrimination, quarrel, fight and pain. Even Lord Krishna could not avoid war. Discrimination destroys peace and where there is no peace there is no God
Hara/Hari in Sanskrit is to take away, free someone from illusion. Hare is a derivative of it. Krishna frees one from illusion.
yup you quoted right
Savyasachi Das❤..the enlightened one.. every n each word is full of amazing knowledge..all respects
exchange of questions/answers was really good...
1 hour felt like 10 mins
Mr. Interviewer, you are curious, respectful, knowledgeable and truly respectful.
Pranaam Swamiji… I am a pious practising Hindu from India… I understand its not easy to explain the crux of Sanatan dharma…. I wish you could have touched upon the different philosophies like Raja Yoga , jnana Yoga , Advaita Vedant etc that makes up Hinduism…
Yet you are only given the eyes to see impsosters and accept them. The real thing is right in front of you. All glories to srila prabhupada!
Wonderful conversation, beautifully presented ❤
Seeking the truth together. 🙏
Great podcast 👌
Love from Bangladesh 🙏
Few Corrections Swami Ji:
