Like you, Alessa, I love looking at the Elizabethan ruins with magnificent great halls and huge windows!
It's fascinating how castles were left to decay, I suppose they were huge and hard to maintain. It's nice that these ruins are free to wander around.

Really fascinating history! Especially the story of the curse! So sad to see such magnificent buildings abandoned and fall into ruins.

I just love those trees on the walk up to the castle.
Love those big fireplaces they are amazing. It’s a shame more of the castle is not left but you can see how huge and grand it would have been.
The civil war has got a lot to answer for that’s for sure.
