In these video tutorials, I normally use Bakels Premixes to save on time.
(Bakels is a bakery grade cake premix. Another great one is Allied Mills)
If you prefer to bake from scratch, I do have a range of awesome cake recipes here which convert to cupcake recipes very nicely too.
    MUD CAKE:

    RED VELVET BUTTER BASED CAKE:

    VANILLA BUTTER BASED CAKE:
    • Moist Vanilla Cupcake ...
I use these butter based cakes above because they are sturdy under fondant and stable at room temperature, as are the muds.
    SOFT SPONGE CAKE:
    • Naked Rustic Garden Fl...

Thank you so much for watching! It has been a VERY long time since I have made any miniature cakes on this channel (ironically, they are the most watched too). So here's to some new beginnings, 2 tiered mini cakes are here to stay. I already have a few more up my sleeve, some themed and others just random and fun like this one :) I hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial! As promised, here are the piping tip numbers that I used:
    Piping tips:
    Leaf tip 67
    Small star tip 32
    medium circle piping tip 10
If you'd like to buy the scalloped edge scraper, I sell them here:
    rosiesdessertsp...
there is a 30% off sale at the moment and ends on the 27th of March 2018 :) just use the coupon code Gimme30 at checkout. The sale also includes other cake scrapers, the acrylic disks and cake toppers.

This is a game changer for me. I never even thought about using parchment paper between the flowers and cake! Thank you so much. I think I'm going to do a practice cake this weekend.

Thank you! Total game changer with the parchment paper. I have been hating wrapping the flower stems and sticking them into my cakes. Most of the time the floral tape will get stuck in the cake when they’re pulled out. Absolutely beautiful cakes and very practical tips!!

Love your tips and how detailed your tutorial is! This is the best tiered cake tutorial on youtube. One question for you. Is there a reason why you didn't use the centre dowel to keep two cakes together? I would love to not use it, but I wanted to make sure if the cake stayed fine without the dowel. Thanks.

If you do this, stack the cakes where you plan to serve them. I'd also recommend buying the whipped topping, you can find it in the cake decorating section of the store, or, you can also ask your bakery section of your supermarket to sell you a bucket of it. Sam's will sell you a very large bucket for less than $20. You can also freeze it for future cakes.

    • @Rosiesdessertspot
      @Rosiesdessertspot  6 лет назад

Hi hun, this is a very good question. I personally wouldn't sell these for anything under $70 Australian Dollar, but that's because I am a boutique and I would make to order. If I were an established bakery and I know I can make bake 40 of these at once and decorate them all within a few hours, then the price would immediately drop to $35 each. Home bakers should be charging more as they don't have the capacity to make these in bulk, and what we make is custom made and unique rather than the same generic design :) sorry, it's a complicated one to really answer properly. I hope that made some sense!
