Thank you so much! Mirror glaze using dark chocolate doesn't use as much sugar, this particular recipe that I used does though. And with practice you will be decorating just as good, if not better, trust me ;)
Hello Carmen ! :) Yes, hot water would be best. The mirror glaze is very sticky and won't come off with cold water. I let mine soak a little first in hot water.
Hi rosie If a cake is due on sunday. Do you think i can make the glaze, color it and leave it on room tempertaure on friday(will rewarm if colder than required tempersture? and then glaze the cake on saturday? Will it lose its shine by sunday? Thanks alot
what white chocolate do you use and how much im trying to make for my son pockermon ball its black and white and was thinking to made back glaze what do you think how to make black glaze or should I use wilton black melts and how much do i use thank you
I used compound chocolate for this glaze, it's the cadbury brand. I think you could honestly get away with adding black gel food colour. I haven't tried the glaze with Wilton melts before, but if I were to wing it, I would have honestly added the same amount as white chocolate. This one might be a question for Cake Central ;)
We're these cakes made for people going to prom? My stepdaughter had prom on 5-6-17, so I was just wondering if that's what these were for. If so, cute idea!
I just realized these cakes were made back in September. That's what happens when I binge on your videos and forget they aren't current sometimes. Now the really big question is, what were these cakes for? Or were they just made for the video.....and if so, why are the dates so far in advance. Why is this so curious to me? Hell I don't know, haha.
Lol you're gorgeous. These were literally just made for video :) the mirror glaze coloured cakes were trending at the time so I thought to make a video showing how to do it. I hope your stepdaughter has an awesome Prom experience! We don't have prom here in Australia, but it sounds very exciting.
Hi, yes it's $50 Australian Dollars for the gold / silver mirrored ones and usually $40 fr the acrylic and the wooden toppers :) I need to consider the cost of the material, the cost of the machine, my time and graphic design work that goes into making the custom toppers. It wouldn't be worth me selling them otherwise.
If my buttercream layer is not thick enough, or not perfectly straightened, what will happen? Also, when I poor the glaze over it, will the buttercream melt or anything? (if the temperature of the glaze is too hot)
Has anyone else actually eaten a normal cake with this glaze as opposed to the entremet which is generally a Mousse dessert cake, ? I have done both now and buttercream and ganache cakes it just doesn't have a nice mouth feel, where as it goes with entrenmets if you get my drift, so wondering if it is just me.
I can’t get over how perfect these mini cakes are! 😍🍰

Hello! lovely video....can you tell me for your buttercream. Is it workable immediately, or do you let it sit/set before using?

i love ur videos and the cake toppers. i checked the link u have provided and the price for 1 cake topper is $50? is this true?
Hi, yes it's $50 Australian Dollars for the gold / silver mirrored ones and usually $40 fr the acrylic and the wooden toppers :) I need to consider the cost of the material, the cost of the machine, my time and graphic design work that goes into making the custom toppers. It wouldn't be worth me selling them otherwise.
Pretty! what did you do with the gel on the cookie sheet? what would do with leftovers
It seems wasteful to me :( I think they just throw the excess away. I can't imagine you could do anything with it after ward.
It won't melt your buttercream? and....how many cakes did you bake to do those three cakes?
what tools did you use to make it look like that?
