I feel like if Cavill does any video game movies, if the story is not true to the game, he will Bale. He's too much of a gaming geek.
Should be called the switcher 😂
Liam look great as geralt too bad his potential wasted by Netflix.
OMG. REGIS IS NOW BLACK? No wonder the author was disappointed. How is he black? Even if its wasn't meant to be based on Polish/Slavic culture, thats just not genius.
"quitting" 🙄
Netflix has no idea how much they fucked up and how much money they could have made from this shit
This would’ve been bigger than thrones if they just copied the books and didn’t spare no expense
@@killmonger5097 it was such a slam dunk easy adaptation, but these idiots hired hack writers and and arrogant show runner who decided to change a ton of stuff just because she thought she could tell the story better.
No it not that Netflix backed out because they were in the "Red". Those shoot cost way to much money and they not getting enough views. Sure the Witcher still has a loyal audience but not enough to justify the cost. They going broke just on the costumes alone.
@@Madame702 Agree. They know that while a lot of people will still watch it, it will not be enough in the long term so they decided to cut it short. Season 1 is great, season 2 is decent, Season 3 is actually boring already for me. So even with Henry Cavill the audiences' criticism was already growing because of the storytelling and Henry Cavill leaving just adds to the incentive for a lot of people to stop watching.
All they had to do was respect the source material but no they want to change the characters along with the writing
He looks good, the problem is I got to attached to Henry's cavill portrayal of geralt, so I don't know if I'll ever watch season 4😂
I was just thinking the same thing 😢I don’t think that anyone but Henry Cavill would be able to walk in Geralt of Rivias shoes but it would be great if they brought him in on the Dance of the Dragons as the Prince that was promised being a true descendant of Aegon the first ❤
this is literally me
@@mariezimmerman7295 out seems you didn't see Michał Żebrowski as Geralt;). For me he will always be "my" Geralt. Don't get me wrong, Cavill was great as white wolf, however its Żebrowski that is etched in my mind as Geralt of Rivia.
Teenage Geralt..
Same
It's such a shame that the writers didn't have more respect for the source material.
This right here. Henry Cavill nailed the role for sure, but what made me stop watching was how whack the plot got.
They did not have rescpect for the audience☝️
You can blame everything on showrunner Lauren Hissrich. She hated the books, and thought she could just rewrite them. She failed. It's too bad that Netflix hired her, instead of someone who respected the source material. I think Henry Cavil would have done a great job as showrunner.
Henry Cavill was perfect for the role.
Remember when people were furious when he was cast tho xd but yeah he was absolutely
@@gambello1195 facts
@gambello1195
Well I thought he was perfect because he's not a good actor.... and Geralt doesn't have/show emotions which is perfect for Henry because he's like that in everything he's in. Yet he still disappointed me in this.
@@gambello1195 they all look alike to me
Poor Liam just trying to make a name for himself. He's brave to take on role knowing the fans are going to give him a hard time.
He should be more worried about the show runners. He will always be compared to cavill and his name tied to this bad show. They should have just made him a different witcher, its really a ciri and yennefer show at this point anyway.
Yeah I didn't give a shit who he was before this, this isn’t going to change my opinion of him any.
It's not his fault, but I don't think he can save the show
@@majorastorm right. Nobody can.
You're making a victim out of someone thats profiting? Weird.
The Witcher had such potential Netflix Ruined It. Imagine if HBO made this Show 🔥
Or if Amazon did it.
HBO did GoT 😜 not the best finish
@@Sticky_Teatbf that wasn't a HBO quality issue that was DD wanting to finish the story so they could work on the Star wars project was a damned shame because it ruined GRRM work.
@@j-s-mif that’s true HBO should’ve fired them
@@Sticky_Tea Have You Watched The House Of The Dragon. It's 10x better than The Witcher
This feels awkward
It is weird
💯
Before we write him off , can we give him a chance
@@Mister_Terrific806it's too late to give him a chance the show has been canceled. You let us know how it goes though
like it's another Dimension lol
this feels weird without Henry cavil
It will be weird
Cavill will make an awesome Warhamer series.
I am SO stoked for Henry as Connor MacLeod in Highlander!
At the start, this was gonna be Netflix's Game of Thrones. At the end... this is gonna be Netflix's Game of Thrones.
I see what you did there
This feels like such a massive waste of resources, the minute the drama with Cavil became public knowledge this thing was over. Who even wants to see this knowing it’s cancelled after this season?
It's not canceled after this season? It has one more.
And Cavill isnt the one who made it public knowledge. Their vindictiveness and trying to blame him is what did it.
I've seen Netflix cancel shows for less. It makes no sense
@@streetside2833 I mean the show has been successful, and Cavil was playing only the third best character, so the replacement isn't inherently a bad thing
@@simonfinnie2900 The last season was their worst viewed yet and Blood Origins has the lowest audience score for a Netflix show in history. That mixed with all the controversy from their literal a-list main actor leaving, to all the complaints by the fans and bad press the writing room has received. It is actually perplexing as to why they continued with two more seasons.
The Switcher😭😭💔
He looks the part but the second Liam opens his mouth and speaks this will implode
😂😂😂
You’re not wrong.
He tried to copy the Cavill Swag walk too 😂
I agree
He looks the part? To me he looks 18 or so.. baby Geralt.
Man Netflix just fucks everything up. I wish HBO or Amazon made The Witcher
Amazon is hit or miss, wish that HBO made it tbh
I’m really excited for warhammer series whenever that comes out
Same!
It’s a shame they only made 3 seasons
I lost all interest after season 2. After it was announced Cavill was leaving, I stopped watching
That last season was horrendous!
@@TChalla616season 2 was not good either
@@Killer_Corvette True, but compared to that last season, it was almost a masterpiece.
@@TChalla616 2nd season compared to 1st season makes it look bad. its been a rapid decline
Henry cavil is my Witcher I respect his representations of Geralt. I’m not mad that he left he has valid reasons but man I just can’t believe how they can screw up such a tv show that had the potential to be on the same level if not better as Lord of the rings and Game of Thrones.
The Witcher universe or multiverse is vast there’s so much the showrunner could’ve done it if only they respected and used the books
hbo should pick up the Witcher
@@KittiusThings I totally agree the way House of the Dragon is on MAX I’d say the Witcher would’ve been great as well
But I think there’s news that HBO is about to collaborate with Disney or something,on the other got sequels that are coming out in the following years, which scares the shit out of me in every aspect. I just hope is not true
this is like what happened to Spartacus (main actor change) when Andy Whitfield passed away and was replaced, couldn't imagine anyone else doing the role, see how it turns out.
This is completely different. They messed up the serie for 2 seasons.
It’s not the same thing the actor died so they had to replace the main actor bc it was mid season when it happen.
Whitfield also picked the replacement .
Technically he did become James Bond in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare... just the real life version of JB not the fictional one :D
Imagine having something with the potential to be bigger than “The Game Of Thrones” and just fumbling the bag this hard, I know Netflix is sick 😂
Im extremely upset with how Netflix crapped on Cavill, but I've watched the first three seasons and I'm curious how the show will end. I'll try watching it. I can stop if it gets too bad.
Same. I will still give it a shot. I like Liam Hemsworth even though Henry Cavill is just too perfect for the role because of his own unique knowledge and passion of the witcher lore.
They have to finish the 3 last books which are much longer and more complex, all in 2 seasons because season 6 and 7 got cancelled, it’s going to be a complete and utter mess, I don’t even want to know how they handle Ciri ptsd from being assaulted by a girl.
As if it didn't already 😂
It's not Liam, it's the damn showrunner and the Netflix execs who let her run free shyting on the Witcher!😎
Not my Witcher
My boy Geralt out here swappin faces out like Shang Tsung.
Lauren Hisritch really bungled this show. Also why include Nimue in the show? When re-reading the books, I always skip past her parts because they add nothing to the story as a whole other than slight world building.
So should the show be true to the books or not? Fans seems to want source accuracy and then they say stuff like that.
@@juina no, that’s not at all what I’m saying. The show is wildly different from the books, imo in a negative way. Many aspects of the best aspects and storylines from the books are omitted. That is why I find it annoying that one of the storylines they did decide to actually put in the show is one of the weakest and most boring parts of the books.
@@juina Oh please, you’re either being disingenuous or just not thinking. Just say you don’t agree with the critical reception the show and season is getting. There’s a huge difference between an adaption omitting parts of a book while accurately portraying the parts that are included vs. making multiple whole storylines up out of thin air that weave in and out of the actual storyline in the original work.
@@henryschriemer1133 I agree to some extent. The omission of the full Something More storyline was a big loss because it affects how much Geralt and Ciri mean to each other later in the series. But then saying that Nimue should be removed, you might as well say half of Lady of the Lake should be omitted--and I can't square that with thousands of comments screaming about source accuracy to the text. I think many of these people are just parroting things they heard.
I struggled to watch season 2 and gave up on season three. No idea why Netflix seems to be destroying their best shows lately.
Because Hollywood is consumed with injecting their agenda, politics, and political worldview into every story it touches rather than letting these stories remain organic and true to the source material.
When the show end in season 5 I hope they give an actor credit from Henry cavill for geralt for 3 seasons
It’s to hard to pretend that geralt is now played by Liam hemsworth
Like Freya Allan, I kind of feel bad for Liam Hemsworth. He will surely be under enormous pressure. You can see it on his face in the rehearsal room even though Freya and Yennefer's actress was trying their best to cheer him up.
Liam does look more like the actual Geralt in the game... but yeah... not a good situation how they did a beloved actor who was doing a great job.
Oh dear Netflix, read the room! 👀
Henry…HENRY!…HHHHEENNNRRYY!!!…
(Liam turns)
Oh sorry, my mistake. I thought you were someone else.
Liam looks good (voice we will see). And if he was cast first, it may have been fine. But recast, of an exceptional performance, its a hard sell
The fuck happened to Geralt’s face ?
I’m not watching without Cavill!! He was so good and it’s sad that studios can’t handle actors understanding and defending the lore!!
The moment he turns to the camera just feels like a spoof in a comedy sketch. I hope TV execs step back from this and the GOT mess up with Dan and Dave and think differently about how to creatively develop a vision. Can’t believe this actually happened. Still so confusing
He doesn’t look back at me the same way Henry did 😔😔
he doesn't look bad at all actually closer to Geralt than Henry. What matters is his acting chops and voice.
I mean also Netflix pretty much fucked up this show too by not having the source material but it does suck that before this whole thing happened
Cavill was still Superman at that time
Toss a coin to your Witcher Thanks Charlie
He does look great but I already feel it like it's missing something, something big.
Netflix had the chance to make something bigger than game of thrones and all they managed is making Harry leave and run the show into the ground 😢
Bigger than GOT?
Shows should just try to be their own thing as nothing will ever top GOT maybe HoTD
And he was doing it on the (relative) cheap since Cavill originally doing it as a passion project rather than as a payday.
And yes BIGGER than GoT if they'd just told the story as it was written
@@Pegaroo_ I tried watching the Witcher but it felt like it was a Yennefer show should I give it another chance.
Could have been
I can honestly say I have no interest in Warhammer but then I really had no interest in the Witcher either when I saw the trailers. Isn't Nimue from the Arthurian legends? I kind of feel bad for Liam having to take over from Henry but I guess we'll see how he does.
She is
@@JayGriffinblaze thanks, i thought so
Actually Liam and Henry had both auditioned for this role and Henry won. So it's not like they had to search but from what I heard Henry told them to get Liam to take his place.
Wahoo, last time i was this early charlie was showing his face
Yeeeees I'm so ready for this new Witcher season. I'm sorry Henry is gone I wish he would of finished this out, but I'm also excited to see if Liam can do this justice or evolve the role.
I hope we get an Easter egg of Geralt and Superman in the warhammmer series
its a shame it got cancelled, it would have been an awsome show.. but because they wanted to stray from the books storylines, henry quit.
and because people loved henry as geralt, the show failed :(
In the books the white frost couldn't be stopped, the people only might escape it, through hopping to other worlds, i.e. needing help from the Elder Blood. So the games did a weird change already, and none where I shall mind the series messing it up more. The real White Frost was something natural. Otherwise, I will watch the series, to see if they improved anything. I don't mind the Geralt change too much, there already were several versions of him.
hopefully henry cavill will hire beau demayo as a writer on warhammer since he also keeps getting screwed over like cavill
Seeing Liam in Henry's fit just looks wrong...
Thank you
No problem!
Jeez, I am SO over all of this "different versions" and multi-univers crap
XD Before the release of the first season, EVERYONE was complaining that Cavill was a very bad choice and not fit for the role. Now, everyone claims he was perfect! Maybe, just maybe, we should consider that Hemsworth might also turn out to be a good choice. Those familiar with the book will find Hemsworth much more similar to Sapkowski’s original character. I personallly think that Hemsworth is jaw-droppingly handsome and have all the needed charisma :)
Oh hell, just that teaser is enough to put me off and I am glad I noped out with Cavill...
I'm not sure I'm going to watch this. I loved Henry Cavil's version.
It's not Liam's fault he's just trying to help close out the series. I commend him for taking on the role since he has very big shoes to fill. Henry leaving isnt Liam's fault and I believe the role of Geralt was down to Liam and Henry anyway. Its gonna be important to watch for the story and not the actors.
Loved Henry as Geralt. But I'm becoming more and more excited to see what Liam does with the role :)
Certain characters can’t be recast without causing inevitable deterioration unless the actors roll had closure. It’s like recasting RDj as Ironman b4 he sacrifices himself.
It’s possible to recast Ironman for alternate parts now and ppl can accept it.
Henry Cavill couldn't have been better. He nailed Geralt in every way.
The way they just disrespected Henry Cavill and dismissed his vision of Geralt was offensive not only to him but to every person who loves the Witcher series of books, and games. Henry Cavvill told them he was all about comming back for 7 seasons as long as they were telling good stories and stuck with Sapkowskis books. They did not. I will probably watch the Witcher because i want to see what they do, but i don't have high hopes.
Liam looks closer to the book version. He's not beefed up like a bodybuilder, he's supposed to be be lean and agile. I'm interested to see how he'll play Geralt
It would have been nice to witness a completely new appearance. A new hairstyle and outfit would have made sense and might helped with the transition considering it's a recast. The games featured a variety of hairstyles and beards that, while distinct, still maintained a resemblance to Geralt's character and did not deviate from his appearance.
Never figure out why any show running would care to justify an actor switch of a character. It's not like we the people watching the show don't know that a new actor is taking over the character roll. Its pointless only key point is to make sure that the latest actor is known as that character.
Henry Cavill leaving is not the reason I'm no longer watching the show, it's the reasons why he left that I'm no longer watching...
Im more surprised they were even greenlit for another season.
Liam is missing the depth and conviction in his brow Henry so effortlessly exudes. Perhaps because Henry seriously 'plays' at war w a warrior's conviction regularly, and for years. What a sad and terrible happening. What happened to 'we have material for 7 seasons?' Now they'll rush it with American writers a la GOT and drive this awesome series into obscurity.
Cavills 3 seasons should have been 5 so they could have actually fleshed out some of the characters and storylines. Should let henry cavill help guide the show bc he is a fan.
imo it's always weird how ppl get hung up on X actor playing a role. I'm looking forward to s4 because I like The Witcher, not the actor portraying Geralt.
If they are changing what happened from the game and what happened in the novels then……. they aren’t following either.
Henry will most likely leave the 40k project as well for the exact same reason as The Witcher, changing lore. If he was just an actor and had no attachment to these IPs then I would fully expect him to still be all in on both. But then again, the people that would be left to watch those shows also wouldn’t be fans of the IPs.
I hear Halo isn’t a bad show if you aren’t a HALO fan. Same with the Rings of Power if you are ok with every deviance possible from Tolkien. Normally when you make something about an IP it’s because of the pre existing following the IP has but lately it seems that show runners and designers are doing everything they can to break lore and canon as quickly as possible. 😔
The biggest mistake if you ask me was to change the actor. If it was like to change child into adult whatever it's because of age development like at "House of the Dragon" with the character Rhaeynera. But this isn't very acceptable
Glad Cavill left, there was nothing redeeming about the show outside of his character
That’s not true a bit extreme but cavill was great as geralt and he played the character like he knew the character which he did and it was entertaining to watch.
Netflix should have just discontinued the series. I have no interest in watching season 4/Liam as Geralt. I only suffered through the debacle of a story that was season 3 out my respect and love of Henry Cavill.
Great breakdown Charlie
Thanks!
Bro why did this look/feel so weird 😂 Love Liam but c’mon that shit was funny
Liam Hemsworth is a totally cool dude. But this is a downgrade for the show.
He might be a good Witcher
@@Mister_Terrific806 but in a bad show
Thing is, if Liam played Geralt from the very beginning, nobody would be complaining (this much) about his casting. I will wait and see. Not going to write him (or the show) off until I see it.
I think if He ry had left under good terms rather than them being assholes, the public would have been more open to. It! Henry said from the beginning when he approached the team with the idea of The Witcher and how his fandom led him to want to put this into a series but he told them the one thing he was adamant about if he was to play Geralt was they stay as true as they could to the source material and they shit on him and he left, very sad! As I loved it, but I will give Liam a chance as it’s not his fault, and I like Liam. So I will watch and give it a go!
I'm willing to give this a chance. Not really hyped but I hope it's good. I will say I'm more excited for the next game.
Henry Cavill is not replaceable, he is the Witcher
Emergency Awesome I can see recasting Cavil with Gunn’s universe, however this???? Nooo, only advantage Is now I can read the books and have no disappointment (cause I am a book reader) bring on Warhammer! IMO I will watch this, but recasting a main character no, doesn’t work for me! Thanks Charlie, I always appreciate your hard work!
Honesty I hope someone reboots the Witcher series either with a new cast entirely or somehow continues the journey we have seen like a sequel of sorts but done the right way :(
I guess Netflix spent too much money to just cancel season 4. Regardless if season 4 is good or not, people will not care knowing the series has been cancelled. If I were Liam Hemaworth I wouldn’t have taken the job knowing how people feel about it.
The way I see it, this seems to be the producers and writers fault for the writing in season 2 that upset fans and Henry Cavil. This mess could have been avoided if the writers rewrote the bad parts of season 2 before actually releasing it; but that would require the writers to acknowledge that they were going in the wrong direction. Hebert cavil being a co producer would have been one way to keep everything in check, but as we know Hollywood writers want to go their own way as artists are generally stubborn people.
I hear there will be a Witcher 4 games, so at least that maybe something to look forward to.
Personally I'm okay with it. I want to finish the story. And I'm willing to wait until the season comes out to judge.
I hope we see vesamier in season 5
Id urge everyone to stop hating on Liam, yes fuck Netflix and the creators not respecting the source material, but I believe the actors are trying their best to respect the audience too, especially with Liam with such a big shoe to fill in.
If he actually cares why he didn’t just finish the show and eat up his ego? Yes exactly he don’t give 2shit of you people. So stop crying about him leaving the Witcher
Liam’s performance aside, I don’t get why everyone (including Netflix) is insisting that they have to explain why he looks different? I remember when Spartacus had to recast two of their main characters, they just did it. We know it’s a TV show, we can suspend our disbelief.
I had a hard time telling the difference from that one clip to be honest. Obviously Cavill really did that role justice and then some, but I think it’s unfair to count Liam out before we even give him a shot. I think he is going to surprise people. If the show doesn’t do well I think it’ll be more on the shoulders of the people behind the cameras such as writers/directors/producers
It will be interesting to see how well Warhammer is received, compared to the witcher
the relationship between Cavill's Geralt and his daughter was the only thing meaningful in this show weird to NOT see how Liam will do
I just have one question? Couldn't Discount Hemsworth handle a real sword??? Because whoever made that prop on his back has no idea what a real sword looks like. That pommel is all kinds of wrong. And why can't I see the pointy end of it on the other side? Seems kinda blade short for a 2 handed pommel! If they can't be bothered to get it right in a preview, how are they ever going to do it for an entire show?
Henry was born for this part but as any of us who read books or played any Wither game we all felt Geralt in him.And as any of us he couldn't endure what Netflix done with gutting this show with ending that Gerald who killd God's, best and men ended like a little bich And don't get me started on whole "clever " way of storytelling .Netflix like Disney shoots them self in both feets not one time after time
Just not going to be the same without Henry he embodied it perfectly
I never read the books. The only reason why I watched the previous seasons because im expecting it will based on the summary of the books. Well, im wrong.
And why do the netflix screen writers think that they'll write something thats better than the original story?
Netflix, that what HBO did with Game of Thrones, which was so stupid. You have to respect the original author and they could make so much money on the original book. whoever made this decision at Netflix should lose their job ASAP the most stupidest decision of the decade
The writers are so dumb they not only changed the story and lost their lead actor, instead of wasting time trying to explain the new lead, they could’ve just continued the story normally but with a new lead
I can’t. It doesn’t seem right without henrys face on season 4
I'm not questioning her expertise and/or qualifications in principle, but I do think that the showrunner should not have been the showrunner in this particular case. But that's just my take.
I just think its sad that this show could easily have atleast 6/7 seasons like the original GOT had...
But the writers are just terrible and dont care at all about the show. And Henry Cavill was really the driving force carrying this show that is very clear to me.
It is a shame that the people running it dont care at all about the show and just want eyeballs for a quick-bank and then go to the next project they can ruin. We need more Henry cavill... and less money hungry and greedy writers and people who dont care about book accuracy and lore at all.
I actually think he looks more to part than Henry, just for the more athletic physique rather than a buffed mountain - however, it’s gonna be hella weird. Cavill was just so passionate about the role!
