- A classic 071 diesel loco is our viewing platform for this journey across Ireland. Filmed in the penultimate year of loco haulage loco number 088 pulls a rake of Intercity Mk 2 coaches since consigned to the scrap heap.
Our journey starts at Dublin's Connolly station. We follow the train from the cab, signal boxes and from a helicopter. Авто/Мото
Shay checking in from dublin Ireland ❤❤
Fortunately one 181 Class has managed to be preserved and five 141's have been preserved too. :)
OMG I hjave not seen a staff machine for years wonderful train pity tho about the coaches wonderful scenery very well done with the filming
I think where Broadstone station was is now Bus Eireann Broadstone bus garage. There's now a luas (tram system) terminus along side Broombridge railway station 🚉 🛤
071's have been repainted and are on fright duties while the 141's/181's have sadly been scrapped.
Many have been retained for freight duties allowing the scrapping of older Bo Bo types.

Iarnrod Eireann have the cheek to lecture me on health & safety when I apply to work for them, yet this man looks over his shoulder while driving a 200 tonne vehicle.Yeah right!
In 2022 the Dublin to sligo route is now operated by a 22000 class intercity train
Also oddly by a 29000 DMU, also Longford to Dublin pearse commuters
On the 2/8/22 the 11:00 o'clock service to Sligo was operated by a 29000 DMU
@@transportvideosireland Indeed, usually a Sunday service is ran by a DMU, sometimes a special Longford to Dublin and return DMU is ran for GAA games or events
