      @@BobbyKDesigns Hello, doing well here.
I got my mulching project nearly finished in my yard, so that's a relief. It's really so hot down here in FL. My pathways and plant beds look great with the pine bark nuggets.
So far this year I bought 218 bags of mulch, on sale.

On my property, there is, what seems like, an infinite amount of quartz, quartzite, gabro, and granite in varying colors…orange, white, brown, blue, gray and sizes ranging from a 3-5 inches in diameter to 16-18 inches long by 10-14 inches wide; most tend to be somewhere in between; they are more oblong/rectangular and irregular shaped, instead of round or oval and smooth.

Just came across your channel so have not watched all the videos yet. Do you ever feature problem landscapes of your viewers with suggestions? We have a house that is on the top of a huge hill/bluff with little yard and huge forested (unkept looking) slopes right off the yard. I think it will be very very challenging for any landscaper out there. Have no idea what to do!

Bobby: I live in an arm of the Mohave Desert, St George UT.
All 3 of the trees planted by the builders (yuk) in 1989, have either been deliberately taken out (pine -- diseased due to improper pruning); mulberry (roots lifting up foundation sidewalk (a stupid feature builder put in) + possibly garage floor); and a beautiful shade tree on south side, pruned wrongly, top heavy, watered incorrectly, wind/rain storm took it down in one gust one night 4 yrs ago).
The HOA is refusing to replace...
What can I plant, for cooling, beauty, + shade, on this south side, approx 20' from my home, that I could defend planting? I'll buy, plant, (community water, but we have ugly lawns all over the place!) And I would pay to have cultivated properly. ??
    Please suggest??

So how do you keep weeds, whirly bird seeds from Maple trees, autumn leaves, etc. clogging up those beautiful rocks and sprouting seeds come spring? It sure looks pretty, and would be a monster to keep clean and take care of, unless you are constantly out with your blower and raking up the debris. No thanks.

Thick plastic barrier underneath the rocks to act as a weed suppressant. The same way you would with cardboard in a no till method of gardening.

Ooohh Bobby! What can I say…I admire your channel and your zeal. I would caution you telling people they can and should do some of the items featured. Typical dyi people CAN do a lot but lack technical knowledge and professional experience in doing things correctly. In most cases these are the the yards that we Professionals show up to for a service call or repair and it ends up costing them more than double. Shovel edges…perfect! Every diy should do this…drainage rock creek beds another perfect! Paver walkways and patios…NO! DIY s lack the skill set and too set to do a proper installation. Outdoor kitchens NO…diyers lack building code and proper construction knowledge to construct such structures.
Landscape lighting…NO…they lack technical design knowledge and as well as basic principles of electrical systems and the myriad of products is far too confusing.
Stump walkways…waste of time. The tree cookies will rot within a couple years. Use the wood in a firepit and actually benefit from it on a cold winter night. Please spread real world knowledge and be honest. Dont set people up for failure. Thank you.
