that was such a great match... their playing level is very high... Natalies forehand was huge and Aspen is an all round consistent player... Aspens first serve percentage was amazing... thanks for sharing!
These two played so well! Goes to show the importance of the mental side of tennis. There is a bit of a momentum shift around the middle of the match. Aspen being able to relax a bit probably has a lot to do with it. Something I know I struggle with is verbalizing my frustrations. If I miss a shot I might say a "come on, don't do that" or just have a slightly negative reaction to my error. I think there's something to be said for how your opponent can read that and have their energy built up. Always something to work on. Thanks for the vid, Winston!
Aspen’s serve was really strong. Natalie’s forehand is hard to pickup where it is going pre-strike, and she caught a lot of sidelines. Also her backhand slice was impressive as it stayed so low and even when it was short, it was hard for Aspen to do much offensively with it. Really great play from both of them.
Aspen did a great job throwing Natalie off her game, I don't recall seeing her coming to the net as much as she did against Winston. Then again, she's playing someone of a higher level 😄jk, keep up the great content.
Nice match! Both are excellent players, but Natalie definitely has an overall power advantage. It took me til 5-2 before I noticed Aspen is a lefty! It almost seemed to me that Aspen preferred her backhand over the forehand, at least from the baseline... Maybe that's because most players will pound their forehands to her backhand so she had to develop it to become a strong shot?? Just a comment on Natalie's BH slice. It seemed to me that her slice kind of set Aspen up a bit when she sliced it too short, which gave Aspen a chance to tee off on it... Anyway, a good competitive and entertaining match
When you think about it, I'm surprised you don't see more players use multifilament hybrids. That extra power and zip through the court does produce more of an awkward ball for the opponent to hit.
I've been on a road of String testing to get the right set up for me. I'm going to try Natalie's cross string, technifibre triax. I tried tech's soft multi with hyper g soft and the hyper g notched it super fast and I broke the multi in about 6-8 hours of play. The triax looks like it might be a superior option. Also switching to yonex poly tour pro for less notching and more control.
Aspen has a very interesting (and unusual) service motion. There is very little forward movement and she really uses her arm primarily to serve as opposed to getting some added pop from her lower body. It works pretty well though…
Great match to watch, Natalie crushing those forehands and dropping a few f bombs 😅. Aspen seemed to struggle a bit dealing with low balls or short balls, netted a few. @Winston Du what tennis balls do you use for these matches?
When Indian Wells is on next year please get Emma Raducanu on to play you. That is if she plays Indian Wells. But if she does it is in California so please reach out to her to play a round with you.
Aspen’s footwork is so messy. Like the timing of her spit steps are inconsistent and mistimed. Maybe she was nervous in the video but this part of her game definitely needs to improved
winston really love your videos would like to get pin

Incredible match! So cool seeing these two serving bombs from court level
their post match thoughts were actually really insightful.. good stuff!
Lots of skill and talent on display. Natalie's forehand was the difference maker here, but I much prefer Aspen's serving technique.

Natalie has a great forehand. What a weapon
Awesome match! A lot of power and great rallies.
Heck of a battle. That 10th game with Natalie leading 6-3 was a dandy with a ton of deuces finally won by Aspen.
What a great match! They're so good!!

Aspen likes her backhand more
I like Aspen more… she is calm even when she makes mistakes or not playing well with particular point
Aspen with that lefty carving slider serve, Natalie handled it pretty well. Good close match
Well done ladies

It's amazing how hard Natalie hits!

The winner of this plays Amy Zhu!!
that would be a fun one

jesus I'm not even playing the same game as them, effortlessly powerful
Love to see more women represented on the channel too!

i was shocked that the soft speaking girl dropped those f bombs during the match lol. that's tennis for ya
mix of wilson, penn, and dunlop balls
are those snowy mountains in the background?
nope
Image if Natalie's backhand is as strong (or close to) as her forehand.
