- In this second "Eating Like a Local" episode, we are in Da Lat.
First dish on the menu is Bánh Căn: a small rice cake made in a special pan and usually served with a variety of toppings like egg, shrimp, or pork, and a side of fresh herbs and dipping sauce. Bánh Căn Nhà Chung, located at 13 Nhà Chung, is a popular spot for this dish.
Second course is Lẩu Gà Lá É: a hotpot dish made with chicken and É leaves (a type of basil), providing a unique aromatic flavor. Quán Lẩu Gà Lá É Tao Ngộ, located at 5 Đường 3/4, is renowned for this local specialty.
And last but not least, we crunch into Bánh Tráng Nướng: often called "Vietnamese pizza," it is a grilled rice paper topped with ingredients like quail eggs, minced pork, green onions, and dried shrimp. This can be found at Bánh Tráng Nướng Hiếu.

Next location : Măng Đen, Kon Tum Province, u can go to this famous location, it's very wild, beautiful and so fresh. It's so far from Da Lat City, about ~480 km, but u will enjoy that place hihi. That's my suggestion, hope u do this.
Wow, what a great suggestion! Looks very beautiful. I will try to get there 👍
@@silas-brown have fun my buddy 😤
🙏
i love it
Thank you 😀
Coming to Nha Trang you should eat :
Jellyfish rice noodle ( bún sứa )
Grilled chopped fish rice noode ( bún chả cá )
OK great, I've got those on the list. I was also thinking of doing nem nurong nim hoa, what do you think ?
@@silas-brown yes, Nem nướng Ninh Hòa .
If you want to eat more luxurious, try grilled lobster with cheese 🙂
Sounds tasty but a bit too fancy I think
Nice job man, keep it up. I highly recommend "Gà nướng cơm lam" to you. That's a specialty in Đà Lạt. Try it and film it, so I can drop a like for you in your next video.
Oh wow, I wish I know about that, I really want to try it! I'm on the bus to Nha Trang. Do you think they will have it there or have I missed my chance?
Hungry.
😋
Mai fish salad ( gỏi cá Mai )
Yes, I should do a seafood theme in Nha Trang 👍
Can you try "Balut" dish? ,which named " Hot vit lon" in Vietnamese and also with Durian fruit which popular in Vietnam and South East Asia but it is the nightmare for Western like you 😅
Hmmm, OK, I guess that's a challenge. Do you like eating Balut?
The Durian smell puts me off a bit, but your right I should try it.
@@silas-brown Actually, I haven't enjoy Balut usually, about 2 eggs in 1 time / month . I prefer fried Balut with sweet & sour tamarind sauce than traditional one
