Very enlightening. As a non-Muslim considering embracing Islam, the message I get from this is that is better to be an imperfect Muslim than not a believer at all. We can all strive to be better, and it takes wisdom and humility to admit that fact. Let's encourage and help one another.
This is ny exact problem now as well. I took my Shahada (best day of my life) 6 days ago and feeling overwhelmed w prayers but im trying. Please pray for me
May Allah help you. Look just choose two prayers for the day, and stick to them. Set alarms, set your schedule around the prayers. And you find as you start to get regular with those prayers you start to want to do the others and then you just add an extra one as you go. The key is never ever give up, just keep asking Allah for forgiveness and helps always. May he help and guide you and the believers struggling with this.
I believe that being a good, kind person is more preferable for Allah than the 5 prayers. Ive seen some really ignorant narcissistic people who never missed a prayer and viewed themselves as some sort of saints for this🙄
Being a good and kind person are very great traits and will make your good deeds increase but prayer is an obligation ! Its giving thanks to Allah for everything its making a connection between you and god only, its so you can ask god for anything , its only 5 times a day.....
You need to do your prayers. I know many people who are kind and good in character and who pray all their daily prayers. I’d like to be one who does both, don’t you?
Can a person profess the Shahada at home (alone ... apart from the eternal presence of Allah) and be considered a convert to Islam? Or, must this occur in the presence of Muslim witnesses?
"Do you need witnesses? Can you take the shahada alone?" "Witnesses are not required for a person to enter Islam. You can take Shahada on your own wherever you want. A mosque is preferable but not obligatory. It is all about the sincere and intimate moment you share with Allah (SWT). You can take your Shahada at home, at work or anywhere. The support and encouragement found in mosque holds a different power however, that is why it is always recommended." - IslamWP
I request all of you, I beg all of you, please, for the sake of Allah, please start attending Fajer prayers daily in Mosque. Please do your best to do this, you may find it difficult in the beginning, just put all your efforts to continue. inshaAllah, Allah SWT will simplify it for you. Also try to encourage one or two others to attend Fajer prayer in Mosque with you.
Where in the Quran does it say 5?? Just think that Allah originally wanted 50 prayers a day but then Muhammad argued him down to 5! Think about it, who are you actually worshiping?
That's because you don't pray at all, Would you please help us and explain and describe how to pray in Islam? As you confidently refer to the Quran, Salaat is mentioned in Quran not less than 80-90 times! Please tell us what is that Salaat, when to pray and how to pray?
In fact it's Moses pbuh who advised the prophet pbuh, in the ascension to heaven, to request from God to reduce it to 5 since Moses dealt with Israelite and have suffered in their hands
With respect I cannot believe that "god" whatever "god" is (the prime mover behind the universes) requires us to get on our knees and pray (beg for mercy or whatever) five times a day. The muslim communites need to address the new scientific findings as to what actually occurs when we die. No one reports the experience as being anything to do with organised religion which I realise will be hard for many to accept. But if we want to grow up and advance, we have to drop a lot of ancient beliefs and move on.
I think, that this is a misunderstanding. It's not that god requires us to pray for his satisfaction. The prayer is a mercy for the believer, because it's a foundation in todays stressful life, and it is a shower for the soul and a way to communicate with god and a way to readjust yourself to a chosen path and a way to thank god and so much more. We as human beings need the prayer and so god makes it a duty for the believers. I think that most of the religious "duties" are in fact helps for the people who do them, because god knows better what his creation needs than the people do. And he knows that the people are often to weak or lazy to do what does them good and so he helps them in turning these things duties (like fasting, or not intoxicating yourself with drugs and alcohol, and so on). And regular praying means to brighten your spiritual connection to the truth and the destination of your life on this planet in remembering your origin and getting connected to it.
@@TheEstateOfHoHu If you study the data provided by people that have actually died and been resuscitated, it does not support any religion's beliefs of what actually happens when we die. It certainly does not support the teachings of Islam. Munka and Nakeer do not appear to the dead and they do not interogate them on the tenets of Islam and either send them to hell or heaven. Islam needs to change radically and embrace the new findings. We also have many lives, not just one, as uncomfortable as that might be for some to accept, we have to abandon shiboleths. All religions have some truth in them but none of them are truth, Christianity being the closest.

Exactly true
Prayer is the connection between Allah and His servants.
Both good deeds and prayer are required to get into paradise.
