Apparently Trunks' hair color was a mistake made by Toei Animation. Trunks always was supposed to have blue hair, but for some reason, they didn't bother to fix it until Dragon Ball Super, but somehow Kid Trunks still has purple hair? Idk anymore
i mean half of the decisions surrounding goten and kid trunks are tied to marketability anyway so it's probably just "people are used to it and marketability is all the higher ups care about"
Krillin might not look like much but he's actually one of the stronger non-Saiyan Z-Fighters, and he's very tactical and resourceful. The Androids probably figured this out and decided better safe than sorry.
Doesn't matter how resourceful he is, he's still Fodder for even 1 of the androids. My guess is,they no diff'ed him and killed him out of sheer amusement because he wasn't putting up much of a fight after a little while,and because he started to "bore" them 💯

Trunk's in Z is way worse than supers, frist off he dose almost nothing, he beats frieza and give goku the heart medicine, then becomes useless for the rest of the arc intell the end, he loses to the androids, couldn't stop cell from absorbing 18, fell for cell solar flare twice in a row, didn't know that grade 3 was useless even tho he should of realized that in the time chamber. The only character development he got in Z was learning the basic principles of fighting, (which is speed and power, not one over the other) and dosen't do anything in the arc intell the end, honestly super in the anime (and especially in the manga) did him way better and made useful, and not just have him be useless or a punching bag, like in the super manga, he holds of goku black for goku and vegeta to escape even tho he's heavily out match, and was prepared to die for it.that's way better than be cells/ the androids punching bag and him giving up against cell because he was usless.

That’s a terrible accusation as both Trunks and Bulma’s hair has always been known to change. In the manga both Trunks and Bulma have purple hair, in the animes Bulma has green hair and Trunks has purple, in some colored manga Trunks has red hair, and Super both Trunks and Bulma have blue hair
Toriyama was trying to fix kid trunks hair during the character design phase by making it the same color as Bulma's. The staff changed i back, then kept the updated design on Future Trunks for some reason.

I think It's Because Bulma's Hair Was Purple In A Lot Of Colored Chapters Early In Dragon Ball, But Changed To Blue. It Could Be A Reference To That, Or It Could Be That Trunks's Hair Color Changed From Age, Because Bulma's Hair Didn't Change To Blue Until She Hit Around Young Adult I Think. It'd Make Sense.
Then It Changed To Purple Right After The First Chapter, Also In Some Covers Her Hair Would Flip Back To Blue. That's What I Meant By It Being A Reference To Bulma Directly.

@@DragonBallUniversity The Super anime is also in a weird half way spot, it SAYS it follows manga continuity, yet frequently references anime filler only stuff like Bulma frog or the Garlic Junior saga's Maron. The scene they show in Super of Trunks is a useless "fix" because it recreates a Special only scene, just with "corrected" hair color. He was already SSJ in the manga version, no "awakening" needed.

This was well worth the wait. I do find Trunks' entire timeline a weird plot hole in and of itself. Given how King Kai managed to co-ordinate everyone with wishes at the end of the Namek saga, it makes little sense that any of the deaths stuck besides Goku's. And even the later additions of the "body for a day" thing and Supreme Kai just make it downright implausible the Androids could ever win.
Only Baba can bring you back from the dead for the one day so if she's gone that isn't an option. Also, there's no reason New Namek would have been called. The Androids aren't bothering the universe or even the solar system. They are giving planet Earth a problem. The Namekian Dragon Balls are only ever needed if the universe is at stake and even they're rarely used.

You KNOW Goku was juicing in Otherworld. And even if he found himself unable to come back via Baba, Vegeta would have gotten on that grind ASAP. King Kai would stall out the wish as long as possible, then bring back Piccolo, wish the Earth Dragon Balls to be gathered before him, wish the Earth to be restored, and then Piccolo uses the Earth Dragon Balls to revive everyone killed by the Androids. Vegeta would probably have gotten Grade 2 by juicing with Goku on King Kai's planet all this time, and so would obliterate the Androids and then Cell. Shin can be dismissed by the fact that Shin is fucking useless, but unless the Androids went and killed King Kai, there's no way things would happen like that. Bulma probably would make the time machine at Vegeta's request, wanting to be able to fight his rival in one final battle. By donning a disguise, courtesy of Capsule Corp, Future Vegeta goes back to the past reveals Super Saiyan, then reveals Grade 2, finally gets to kill Freeza, takes Goku aside, reveals himself to Goku, gives him the medicine, and tells him about what Grade 2 is.
I like to imagine that King Kai and Goku were always watching what is happening there, they just don't show for us. Like, who the hell makes that "Spirit Bomb" on episode 66 of Dragon Ball Super if Trunks didn't know how to do it? Just think about it.

The thing that's hilarious is even though it's now anime canon that Future Trunks has blue hair and always did, Present Trunks still has the same purple hair he did back in Z. Aside from living in different timelines, they're both the same person.
I would have understood the random hair change if this was secretly some galaxy brain plan to make F. Trunks a mainstay character. If they were to do that, making his hair different from kid Trunk's would totally make sense as it would make identifying the two easier when Kid Trunks inevitably gets older. Too bad F. Trunks would rather live in a world with another F. Trunks than in the world that follows on DBZ/DBS.
@@Jesse110 It makes sense that they would want to try to keep use of him to a minimum so they can focus on building up Present Trunks. So far though, he's mostly been a background character. It would be nice if future seasons could find a way to stop making it the Goku and Vegeta show and give Gohan and the others the spotlight they deserve. Maybe do the occasional arc where Goku and Vegeta are busy training on Beerus's planet or visiting the Universe 6 Saiyans, leaving the others to fend for themselves. There's a lot of really cool potential for Goten and Trunks if they are allowed to get some spotlight for character development. As Gotenks, they could even outshine Gohan at his best, and they have come to fuse so casually and often that they could even be the only outlet possible for us to see further levels of fusion as a result of mastery of the technique. Perhaps they could find ways of making the fusion last longer, or draw out more power from it in the time they have, or etc.
@@firestriker3580 They are. Future Trunks is from a timeline where Goku died to the heart virus and the Androids killed most everyone else. His original timeline got destroyed by Zeno, and he's now living in an alternate version of it that wasn't ravaged by Goku Black with an alternate version of himself. Present Trunks is part of the main story's prime timeline, which was saved from Goku dying from the heart disease and the Androids by Future Trunks' time traveling back into it, as well as some interference by Cell.
Well... Are they? Think about it. When Future Trunks got to the main timeline, Bulma wasn't pregnant yet. Unless people are destined to be born in the DB universe, Future Trunks and Present Trunks CANNOT be the same person. Yes, they're both named Trunks and they look alike, but they're not the same individual. That would explain the difference in hair color.
fun fact, before bulma had blue hair, it was purple in dragon ball. Akira Toriyama stated himself that its a form of aging, as weird as that sounds. so its just a form of aging. Akira Toriyama has written weirder stuff but going from purple to blue is cannon.
For Toriyama, Both Trunks and Bulma have purple hair, Bulma's is more commonly blue due to her hair being made blue in the anime, I believe the reason was miscommunication early on, same reason in early Z Vegeta had brown hair for afew episodes, but Bulma's blue hair was well established before Toriyama has done his own coloring for the manga so it remained. Thats why Trunk's hair was still purple in Z, because thats what color it was supposed to be and they knew that when they started the trunks appearance. Why is it blue in super? Honestly no idea, I assumed they were just going for "lets make both of them have blue hair and be done with it" but kid trunks still has purple hair so it's just bizzare tbh.
Trunks's future never seems to mention that Goku could've potentially spoken to Gohan from the Afterlife through King Kai and given him advice, like we've seen before (even Yamcha and the others did this long before the Android Saga.)

I mean, there's a lot of Dragon Ball content, it's bound to happen. Trunks is already able to turn Super Saiyan prior to Gohan's death. Gohan is still missing an arm and still knocks out Trunks before his showdown with the androids. Everything else is additional information that Akira Toriyama never wrote.
I wouldn't say it's vastly different. The anime simply alters mostly minor things. But overall, the anime version is pretty faithful to the original manga counterpart.
This one is a stretch. It's fairly well known that Toriyama always envisioned both Trunks and Bulma's hair color to be blue, but since the manga was traditionally black and white, it was never shown outside of the covers. When the manga finally made it to full color anime in the early Dragon Ball days, the animators messed up and gave Bulma green hair. This is actually a cultural problem as the Japanese often use the same word to describe both blue and green. Several poorly subbed anime will mix up the two colors - case in point, the "wait for the light to turn blue before crossing!" meme. Toriyama has always been famously lackadaisical about enforcing his own canon, so he didn't correct anyone when Bulma's hair color was changed for the anime. The same happened when Trunks was finally introduced with purple hair - it was just a rogue animator's decision that Toriyama never bothered to counter and became tradition clear up until Super fixed the inconsistency for both characters.
Actually they made Bulma’s hair blue in the anime and the very beginning and didn’t fix both of there hairs in super. And Toriyama always envision Bulma and Trunks hair to be purple. Even Bulla. Just read the full color comics of the manga.
The creator himself said "things like hair color isn't important", then he gave android 18 purple hair. Actually happened, but quickly corrected. There's even a screenshot out there somewhere.
It seems clear to me that this video was only meant to troll us. For HOT not to happen over the studio's hiring of an animator favoring purple over blue and vice-versa was quite funny.
The problem here is that Toei consistently messed up the colors of things in the original run of DB and DBZ, the first scene with Vegeta, his hair is red before they fixed it to black. Not only that, Bulma's hair was originally purple but Toei made it blue and stuck with it, then they made Trunks hair purple only to fix it in Super.
The best part of this whole thing is that Trunks' backstory is the only special that actually happened in the manga, albeit with a few changes like Trunks turning super saiyan after Gohan's death (an improvement tbh, there aren't really any good first SSJ awakenings in the manga after Goku). Also the only clear answer to this predicament is that in the Briefs family hair changes with age, hence why Bulma has purple in the manga and blue in the anime. Count on Super to mess everything up lol
I'm surprised they didn't point out the discrepancy between Trunks talking to Cell about it and what was shown in the special. When Trunks was talking to Cell he specifically mentioned Vegeta was the first to be killed, where as in the special it's explicitly stated that Piccolo was. Also worth pointing out that Bulma was originally supposed to have the same hair colour as Trunks' from Z when the manga was created, I don't recall why it was changed in the anime
What's really trippy is that the Trunks we see on 17's island with Goten in DBS is the same age as the Trunks that discovered Gohan's dead body and went Super Saiyan. So the Buu saga Trunks not only more easily achieved Super Saiyan, he also aged slower for seemingly no reason. I've theorized that maybe Saiyans grow faster in times of conflict and slower in times of peace, but Trunks is really the only data point for that theory. In DBS: Super Hero, Trunks and Goten do mention that Saiyans stay small until having an insane growth spurt at some point, but that doesn't explain why two versions of Trunks reached that growth spurt at different times.
The Androids weren't harassing the universe. The gods have to have a level of impartiality. Unless the Androids were planning to leave earth and wipe out other planets, there'd be no reason to say anything. Also King Kai can't even sense the Androids since they don't have a ki signature

Well, there's some pieces missing. First, kid Trunks' hair - It's purple Second, By the time Goku Black arrived (based on the anime) , the city basically appeared to be extremely close to being completely reconstructed, and knowing how the trade routes do shit and that they require resources which costs money, so selling was the only choice and since we have like a 9 year gap between the end of the androids and black, there's plenty of time to restore stuff. There's an incredibly high chance that hair dye is available basically, so your point about hair dye is partially or completely annulled. Third, kid Trunks' hair is still purple. So was Bulma's hair, cuz different canons and whatnot. And that's it. Also, a point for you: Gohan is the one who has more potential than anyone among the fighters, so its weird how Gohan isn't much stronger than Trunks when he went back in time. And that's rly it now.

Even Toriyama himself is aware that he just mixed up Trunk's and Bulma's hair sometimes so that's the reason their hair color changes, even in the manga.
The hair color change was officially clarified and if you see the young Trunks has purple hair at 4:46. It is also stated in the series that because Trunks isn't full saiyan is why his hair can grow and change unluck pure saiyans.
I like to think that when zamasu used the time ring, it split up the dbz trunks timeline into the dbs trunks. Like the trunks from dbz is still there and living in a peaceful life and never fought goku black while dbs trunks was fighting black for a year before going back in time. So basically the trunks from dbz aint the same one from super

When a time traveler other than trunks kicks a rock, Everyone's hair will randomly evolve, revert, and revolve into Lssj, Ssg, Ssb, Ssj, and various other hair color changing forms.
there's a scene in the dragon ball super manga where Bulma asks present trunks if the person in the time machine is a young man with the same color hair as him, and his response is "maybe?". The manga is of course in black and white, making this line meta for multiple reasons.
Ok, most of these theories video's I could agree with. But not the tv specials, like this one. This one I believe is part of the manga. It was even part of the Z anime and Super. This one definitely did happen.
Idk hair color to me sounds like a dumb reason for it to be not canon, especially when trunks always had purple hair till super changed it, something that in my eyes was unnecessary as everyone was used to him with purple hair and honestly i like it more than his blue hair which looks off to me But honestly this to me is canon. It’s Dragon Ball Super that’s not canon, not History Of Trunks. We know that because Future Trunks came back with purple hair multiple times in DBZ, so it makes ZERO sense for DBS Future Trunks to have blue hair. Conclusion: DBS is not canon, GT is the actual canon sequel, and History Of Trunks is canon along with it.
The Future trunks timeline could have actually gotten better if three things had come to pass, if Goku had gotten in touch with trunks via King Kai, and given him the coordinates of new namek, then the Earth would have had another guardian and the Dragon balls would have been back. 2. After the Goku black incident trunks just decided to stay in the past, 3. Goku had been in contact with Gohan the whole time he was dead even though I know that last one is impossible due to the fact Goku died of natural causes and would have passed on to heaven instead of going to train with King Kai Edit: after watching an interview about future trunks, the history of trunks can happen trunks just has a very inconsistent hair color problem
id agree on this if it weren't for 2 flaws, bulmas hair was at one point purple like trunks too, before late becoming more blue, and as for nobody questioning it, Vegeta did (technically) saying how they were working hard in the past to obtain super Saiyan blue and all he did was dye his hair

Toriyama was trying to fix kid trunks hair during the character design phase by making it the same color as Bulma's. The staff changed i back, then kept the updated design on Future Trunks for some reason.

I think It's Because Bulma's Hair Was Purple In A Lot Of Colored Chapters Early In Dragon Ball, But Changed To Blue. It Could Be A Reference To That, Or It Could Be That Trunks's Hair Color Changed From Age, Because Bulma's Hair Didn't Change To Blue Until She Hit Around Young Adult I Think. It'd Make Sense.

@@DragonBallUniversity The Super anime is also in a weird half way spot, it SAYS it follows manga continuity, yet frequently references anime filler only stuff like Bulma frog or the Garlic Junior saga's Maron. The scene they show in Super of Trunks is a useless "fix" because it recreates a Special only scene, just with "corrected" hair color. He was already SSJ in the manga version, no "awakening" needed.

This was well worth the wait. I do find Trunks' entire timeline a weird plot hole in and of itself. Given how King Kai managed to co-ordinate everyone with wishes at the end of the Namek saga, it makes little sense that any of the deaths stuck besides Goku's. And even the later additions of the "body for a day" thing and Supreme Kai just make it downright implausible the Androids could ever win.
Only Baba can bring you back from the dead for the one day so if she's gone that isn't an option. Also, there's no reason New Namek would have been called. The Androids aren't bothering the universe or even the solar system. They are giving planet Earth a problem. The Namekian Dragon Balls are only ever needed if the universe is at stake and even they're rarely used.
@@Malthizar Bring back Piccolo for one day, restoring the Dragon Balls. Then, wish for more Namekians for Piccolo to absorb, thus powering him up enough to kill the Androids dead.
You KNOW Goku was juicing in Otherworld. And even if he found himself unable to come back via Baba, Vegeta would have gotten on that grind ASAP.
King Kai would stall out the wish as long as possible, then bring back Piccolo, wish the Earth Dragon Balls to be gathered before him, wish the Earth to be restored, and then Piccolo uses the Earth Dragon Balls to revive everyone killed by the Androids.
Vegeta would probably have gotten Grade 2 by juicing with Goku on King Kai's planet all this time, and so would obliterate the Androids and then Cell.
Shin can be dismissed by the fact that Shin is fucking useless, but unless the Androids went and killed King Kai, there's no way things would happen like that.
Bulma probably would make the time machine at Vegeta's request, wanting to be able to fight his rival in one final battle. By donning a disguise, courtesy of Capsule Corp, Future Vegeta goes back to the past reveals Super Saiyan, then reveals Grade 2, finally gets to kill Freeza, takes Goku aside, reveals himself to Goku, gives him the medicine, and tells him about what Grade 2 is.
I like to imagine that King Kai and Goku were always watching what is happening there, they just don't show for us. Like, who the hell makes that "Spirit Bomb" on episode 66 of Dragon Ball Super if Trunks didn't know how to do it? Just think about it.

The thing that's hilarious is even though it's now anime canon that Future Trunks has blue hair and always did, Present Trunks still has the same purple hair he did back in Z. Aside from living in different timelines, they're both the same person.
I would have understood the random hair change if this was secretly some galaxy brain plan to make F. Trunks a mainstay character. If they were to do that, making his hair different from kid Trunk's would totally make sense as it would make identifying the two easier when Kid Trunks inevitably gets older. Too bad F. Trunks would rather live in a world with another F. Trunks than in the world that follows on DBZ/DBS.
@@Jesse110 It makes sense that they would want to try to keep use of him to a minimum so they can focus on building up Present Trunks. So far though, he's mostly been a background character. It would be nice if future seasons could find a way to stop making it the Goku and Vegeta show and give Gohan and the others the spotlight they deserve. Maybe do the occasional arc where Goku and Vegeta are busy training on Beerus's planet or visiting the Universe 6 Saiyans, leaving the others to fend for themselves.
There's a lot of really cool potential for Goten and Trunks if they are allowed to get some spotlight for character development. As Gotenks, they could even outshine Gohan at his best, and they have come to fuse so casually and often that they could even be the only outlet possible for us to see further levels of fusion as a result of mastery of the technique. Perhaps they could find ways of making the fusion last longer, or draw out more power from it in the time they have, or etc.

@@firestriker3580 They are. Future Trunks is from a timeline where Goku died to the heart virus and the Androids killed most everyone else. His original timeline got destroyed by Zeno, and he's now living in an alternate version of it that wasn't ravaged by Goku Black with an alternate version of himself.
Present Trunks is part of the main story's prime timeline, which was saved from Goku dying from the heart disease and the Androids by Future Trunks' time traveling back into it, as well as some interference by Cell.
Well... Are they? Think about it. When Future Trunks got to the main timeline, Bulma wasn't pregnant yet. Unless people are destined to be born in the DB universe, Future Trunks and Present Trunks CANNOT be the same person. Yes, they're both named Trunks and they look alike, but they're not the same individual. That would explain the difference in hair color.

fun fact, before bulma had blue hair, it was purple in dragon ball. Akira Toriyama stated himself that its a form of aging, as weird as that sounds. so its just a form of aging.
Akira Toriyama has written weirder stuff but going from purple to blue is cannon.
For Toriyama, Both Trunks and Bulma have purple hair, Bulma's is more commonly blue due to her hair being made blue in the anime, I believe the reason was miscommunication early on, same reason in early Z Vegeta had brown hair for afew episodes, but Bulma's blue hair was well established before Toriyama has done his own coloring for the manga so it remained. Thats why Trunk's hair was still purple in Z, because thats what color it was supposed to be and they knew that when they started the trunks appearance. Why is it blue in super? Honestly no idea, I assumed they were just going for "lets make both of them have blue hair and be done with it" but kid trunks still has purple hair so it's just bizzare tbh.

The real reason is because Future Bulma has no way to get the crystal she needs for the time machine without the dragon balls.
Trunks's future never seems to mention that Goku could've potentially spoken to Gohan from the Afterlife through King Kai and given him advice, like we've seen before (even Yamcha and the others did this long before the Android Saga.)
Either of them could had used their 1 day pass to bail out Trunks but did not

That's the most notable difference, honestly.
Trunks is already able to turn Super Saiyan prior to Gohan's death. Gohan is still missing an arm and still knocks out Trunks before his showdown with the androids. Everything else is additional information that Akira Toriyama never wrote.
I wouldn't say it's vastly different. The anime simply alters mostly minor things. But overall, the anime version is pretty faithful to the original manga counterpart.

This one is a stretch. It's fairly well known that Toriyama always envisioned both Trunks and Bulma's hair color to be blue, but since the manga was traditionally black and white, it was never shown outside of the covers.
When the manga finally made it to full color anime in the early Dragon Ball days, the animators messed up and gave Bulma green hair. This is actually a cultural problem as the Japanese often use the same word to describe both blue and green. Several poorly subbed anime will mix up the two colors - case in point, the "wait for the light to turn blue before crossing!" meme.
Toriyama has always been famously lackadaisical about enforcing his own canon, so he didn't correct anyone when Bulma's hair color was changed for the anime. The same happened when Trunks was finally introduced with purple hair - it was just a rogue animator's decision that Toriyama never bothered to counter and became tradition clear up until Super fixed the inconsistency for both characters.
Actually they made Bulma’s hair blue in the anime and the very beginning and didn’t fix both of there hairs in super. And Toriyama always envision Bulma and Trunks hair to be purple. Even Bulla. Just read the full color comics of the manga.
Accept that in the Manga Bulma has purple hair.

The creator himself said "things like hair color isn't important", then he gave android 18 purple hair. Actually happened, but quickly corrected. There's even a screenshot out there somewhere.
It seems clear to me that this video was only meant to troll us. For HOT not to happen over the studio's hiring of an animator favoring purple over blue and vice-versa was quite funny.
The problem here is that Toei consistently messed up the colors of things in the original run of DB and DBZ, the first scene with Vegeta, his hair is red before they fixed it to black. Not only that, Bulma's hair was originally purple but Toei made it blue and stuck with it, then they made Trunks hair purple only to fix it in Super.
The best part of this whole thing is that Trunks' backstory is the only special that actually happened in the manga, albeit with a few changes like Trunks turning super saiyan after Gohan's death (an improvement tbh, there aren't really any good first SSJ awakenings in the manga after Goku). Also the only clear answer to this predicament is that in the Briefs family hair changes with age, hence why Bulma has purple in the manga and blue in the anime. Count on Super to mess everything up lol
I'm surprised they didn't point out the discrepancy between Trunks talking to Cell about it and what was shown in the special. When Trunks was talking to Cell he specifically mentioned Vegeta was the first to be killed, where as in the special it's explicitly stated that Piccolo was.
Also worth pointing out that Bulma was originally supposed to have the same hair colour as Trunks' from Z when the manga was created, I don't recall why it was changed in the anime
What's really trippy is that the Trunks we see on 17's island with Goten in DBS is the same age as the Trunks that discovered Gohan's dead body and went Super Saiyan. So the Buu saga Trunks not only more easily achieved Super Saiyan, he also aged slower for seemingly no reason. I've theorized that maybe Saiyans grow faster in times of conflict and slower in times of peace, but Trunks is really the only data point for that theory. In DBS: Super Hero, Trunks and Goten do mention that Saiyans stay small until having an insane growth spurt at some point, but that doesn't explain why two versions of Trunks reached that growth spurt at different times.

The Androids weren't harassing the universe. The gods have to have a level of impartiality. Unless the Androids were planning to leave earth and wipe out other planets, there'd be no reason to say anything.
Also King Kai can't even sense the Androids since they don't have a ki signature

Well, there's some pieces missing.
First, kid Trunks' hair - It's purple
Second, By the time Goku Black arrived (based on the anime) , the city basically appeared to be extremely close to being completely reconstructed, and knowing how the trade routes do shit and that they require resources which costs money, so selling was the only choice and since we have like a 9 year gap between the end of the androids and black, there's plenty of time to restore stuff. There's an incredibly high chance that hair dye is available basically, so your point about hair dye is partially or completely annulled.
Third, kid Trunks' hair is still purple. So was Bulma's hair, cuz different canons and whatnot.
And that's it.
Also, a point for you:
Gohan is the one who has more potential than anyone among the fighters, so its weird how Gohan isn't much stronger than Trunks when he went back in time.

The hair color change was officially clarified and if you see the young Trunks has purple hair at 4:46. It is also stated in the series that because Trunks isn't full saiyan is why his hair can grow and change unluck pure saiyans.

By the time of Battle of Gods, Akira Toriyama had begun coloring both Trunks & Bulma with blue hair- not purple. While Toei kept kid Trunks' hair purple, Future Trunks' hair was made blue to match his modern character design

there's a scene in the dragon ball super manga where Bulma asks present trunks if the person in the time machine is a young man with the same color hair as him, and his response is "maybe?". The manga is of course in black and white, making this line meta for multiple reasons.

Figured this one is obvious since his plot is literally making sure his future doesn't happen in their timeline
So what trunks just dyed his hair blue. That doesn't mean that history of trunks can't happen.
It’s Dragon Ball Super that’s not canon, not History Of Trunks. We know that because Future Trunks came back with purple hair multiple times in DBZ, so it makes ZERO sense for DBS Future Trunks to have blue hair.
Conclusion: DBS is not canon, GT is the actual canon sequel, and History Of Trunks is canon along with it.
So basically History of trunks is cannon in your eyes.
The Future trunks timeline could have actually gotten better if three things had come to pass, if Goku had gotten in touch with trunks via King Kai, and given him the coordinates of new namek, then the Earth would have had another guardian and the Dragon balls would have been back. 2. After the Goku black incident trunks just decided to stay in the past, 3. Goku had been in contact with Gohan the whole time he was dead even though I know that last one is impossible due to the fact Goku died of natural causes and would have passed on to heaven instead of going to train with King Kai
Edit: after watching an interview about future trunks, the history of trunks can happen trunks just has a very inconsistent hair color problem
