Yeah, it was shown afterwards when Trunks tested Goku. Goku was able to deflect Trunk's swordplay with barely any effort and Trunks commented same moves made short work out of Frieza. I'd say if King cold and Frieza fought future Goku, it was very short fight and extremely one sided.

In Trunks timeline, Goku died before he could fight the androids.
But that also means someone fought Frieza and King Cold and defeated them in that timeline.
It was probably Goku who did that because Trunks didn't exist yet.

My belief is that Gohan was fighting the Androids for that entire length of time but that a lot of those fights were more like skirmishes or delaying tactics than actual full-on battles. He wasn't so much trying to destroy them as he knew he wasn't at that level and was more trying to slow them down to help protect civilians in the areas the androids were attacking and give them time to get somewhere safer. So while Gohan couldn't defeat the Androids, he could probably at least slow them down.
Also probably analyzing how they fought so he do better the next time

@@abdulbah2176 Both of what OP says and you are saying is true. Gohan could slow them down but not win and the androids didn't killed him because they knew if they did, no one would be there to play with theme anymore.
A huge question is how did he manage to make the Androids so powerful? As Team Four Star pointed out, he had no idea of what happened on Namek.
I know right? Makes no sense since he was severely limited in terms of money & resources to make robots that are more powerful than Mecha Frieza who was stronger than he was at full power on Namek.
He shouldn't be able to thanks to the destruction of the Red Ribbon Army. And get this, he made the twin androids based on his last record of Goku battling in the Saiyan Saga. And yet, his spy drones somehow got DNA from Frieza & King Cold despite likely never knowing about their existence before his demise. Let alone the Dragonballs.

Alright this head canon probably doesn’t make sense but I’d like to think of it like while Gero was hands on with 17 and 18 he left certain things automated while he worked on other things. His spy bot was taking data for cell and data for the androids, and so with the data that the machine had it implemented it to 17 and 18

Has it ever occur to you in DBS Goku Black arc King Kai never bothered to get involved or was even a little bit curious about why is there an "evil Goku" rampaging on planet earth or why there were two Gokus' fighting each other and also Vegeta and rogue Supreme kai roaming in F. Trunks timeline. These questions need to be answered on why King Kai just decided to drop the ball and gave everyone on planet earth the middle finger after Goku died in F. Trunks timeline.

Well I never thought of it that way, now that I think of it, it is not too hard to believe or even a stretch to say he is no better than Beerus and Supreme Kai Shin being bad at his job if we look at it that way. If higher up gods are bad at their jobs then more likely than not the rest of the lower god tiers are going to follow behind(i.e. lazy and terrible at doing their perspective jobs).

My questions are: why couldn't an ADULT Gohan stomp the androids with his huge power potential, especially if he had the pain and anguish of losing all of his friends and multiple zenkai boosts from fighting them over the years? Also, why the hell did Gohan not train in the hyperbolic time chamber with or without Trunks? I know I'm asking questions without answers other than "it serves the plot", but these are two Grand Canyon sized plot holes.
Because in the future timeline Goku had died so he never was trained in the hyperbolic time chamber wherein the present timeline Goku taught Gohan how to manifest this power from the pain and suffering which triggered his potential to use SSJ2 and break the walls of SSJ. Everyone was dead that knew about the hyperbolic time chamber.

My theory is that since they are nkt androids and their power level isn't sensed the saiyan body doesn't respond to zenkais, that or zenkais stop working altogether when supersaiyan is reached
Gohan needs a trigger to access his potential. Without it he gets destroyed everytime. Against cell the threat of his friends being beaten to death right in front of him and Android 16s death brought out his power. He didn't have that motivation fighting the androids not only that he might have died on purpose to give trunks motivation the same way goku sacrifices himself to save the z fighters against cell. He put all his hope in trunks.
Most of the Z-Fighters should've went to king Kai since they didn't die naturally.

I always thought that the future ones were weaker not because of the butterfly effect, but because their supposed unlimited power source was actually decreasing in its power over time, so slowly they hadnt yet noticed it, but trunks was able to know right away that there was a difference. I always liked to think that the androids were slowly dying rather than being immortal and all powerful like they thought they were.
This honestly makes a lot of sense. Especially if the androids were on a whole year's long rampage. Their power source can't really be infinite it's just a very high amount and they just keep expending without really thinking about how long it could realistically last.
And then along came Super.
In recent times, people have told me that Trunks thinks that the Present Androids are stronger because he's been dealing with the Future Androids that have been holding back their power, so he wouldn't even know if they were actually weaker. They do tend to play around, so this whole time Trunks could've been fighting against the Future Androids that are at half strength.
I don't really know, but it sounded kinda cool.

The reason why the Androids were more evil in the future is because their mission in the present timeline was to kill Goku, but since Goku was already dead Gero must've made their new mission to help him conquer the world, giving them a hatred for humanity in their programming. And they're more powerful in the present timeline because Gero must've figured it'd take more power to beat Goku then to conquer the planet, which was still their mission because Goku didn't die.

the Cold and Frieza part is always makes me wonder what happened. i love these time theories bc I've always been fascinated by Trunks's TL and what actually happened. I REALLY badly wish to one day know what happened in with Cooler and Frieza of the regular TL.

Gohan fled after surviving the battles, thus received zenkai boosts to be able to contend somewhat with the androids. Since his body couldn't sense their power levels, the zenkais were not as large as they could be.
Evil Android 17 and 18 are severely underrated as villains...

They haven't had much expansion, all we saw from them were short fights in history of trunks, but we never saw how they specifically beat all the z warriors or how they fought Gohan for years and years. Yet we saw freeza, cell, and buu how many times?
@@amajyseryeager5971 the problem was that the series focus to the goku timeline not the Trunks one. The film that show the type of live that Trunks had, was, a film. So, not time to waste 2 hours focusing about 17 and 18 plus other things (so they need to cut a lot of content) And the only "canon" thing we had, was a chapter from the series where Trunks destroyed the 2 androids in les than 15 minuts. For that future 17 and 18 had so little screen time and that chapter was so rushed and anticlimathic. (Quoting DBZA)
All good questions: On the last questions, the only thing I can think of is. Dr Gero was watching them. When Trunks came and killed Frieza and King Cold and all the training everyone was doing, he was able to spy on them. So while they trained and got stronger, Dr Gero observed and made changes. I also think that every time Trunks go back in time, it is going to change the time line, So GT may not happen.

I don't think the androids were weaker in the future. Keep in mind their energy can't be sensed, and they never had trouble even once fighting against future gohan and trunks. this suggest that they were always holding back their full power.
From Trunks point of view since he himself was stronger than the last time he fought the androids, plus the fact that after warning everyone about the androids they trained and got stronger as well, he assumed their new strength would be enough to beat the androids. But really all this means is that the androids had to try a bit harder.

Let's just admit it: the future timeline doesn't make sense, and is sustained through contrivance and plot device alone. Like, Trunks training by himself on earth could make him strong enough to wreck Frieza without effort, at a young age? And Gohan, with his massive potential and pushed to the limit by experience, couldn't beat the androids after years of training? GTF outta here. When Namek blew up, it took sensible plot with it, apparently lol.
trunks trained with gohan. He turned ssj when he was 8. He trained for 9 whole years while also fighting the androids. It makes a lot of sense of how he beat frieza.
@@FireWarrior-xz5ny Turning super saiyan doesn't increase the base power level - it just provides a static multiplier - so it doesn't matter how early Trunks was able to transform. Goku trained for a hell of a lot longer than 9 years and struggled with Frieza as a much older man than Trunks. Still doesn't make sense, man.
@@AOPrinciple To be fair Trunks wasn't only training, he was mainly surviving against 17 and 18, who was stronger than Frieza, so all those near death experiences were stacking up. That's the only thing I could thing of that would allow him to be stronger than Frieza when he went to the past.
First off trunks can become strong enough to beat Frieza because I’m sure he faced multiple near death experiences fighting the androids so his strength is increased. Also goku use to train alone and he’s defeated frieza. And ssj goku was way stronger then frieza 100% full power. But like always goku made it a fair fight. Yes mecha frieza was stronger then he was on namek but with enough training trunks and goku could usually defeat frieza. On the theories have simple answers people just over look them

In the manga, the andriods tell to Future Gohan that they where always holding back half of their power before killing him and they probably did the same with F. Trunks, but in the present timeline when they first meet F. Trunks the androids didn't have any reason to hold back because they didn't know him, so he got a taste of their real power.
Yeah that would explain why Trunks thought that the future timeline androids were weaker.... simply because they were always holding back... because it really doesn't make any sense for the future and present androids to be different in power..

My question: why did future Gohan wait so long to start training trunks? As the only one of the group left and especially as the only other Saiyan left you’d think gohan would have been training him ASAP
Why the present androids were stronger:
1. Dr Gero absorbed a lot of Vegeta’s super saiyan energy before activating them.
2. Cell’s camera saw Trunks obliterate King Cold and Freeza, so updated the intel.
1)the androids didn’t get stronger from Gero, he literally pressed a button and had no time to upgrade them since he was being chased by the dragon team
2)cell was worked on by the computer and gero didn’t watch trunks show up/ the frieza fight. Also Future Goku>Future Trunks so our cell probably would’ve been weaker
It appears that the Androids don't attack every single day. That's why the humans are able to rebuild their cities. And Gohan constantly trains and escapes the Androids when he can't beat them. Every battle is a test for him to see how far he still is from beating the Androids.
The reason Android 17 and 18 were stronger in the present was simply because of the fact that the Z fighters knew they were coming and trained hard for the next 3 years. So if the Z fights became stronger, the androids might've became stronger as well.
Me and my brother used to talk about this, and one explanation we posed as to why the future androids were more wicked was that Goku was already dead in their timeline, so they had nothing to preoccupy themselves with besides terrorizing humanity. In the present timeline, Goku was still alive, so their main goal was to simply pursue him. Just a theory. It could be that they would have been wicked in the future either way.
Trunks must have just gotten tons of zenkai boostd behind the scenes over the 3 years and was also training rigorously. Thats all i can think of.
And he still was no match for the androids, android 17 even said he was using less than half of his power.

To answer the whole "why are they more evil but weaker in the future?" question is kinda like what you said about suppression. My theory is in the future timeline Gero had more time to try to control them and suppress them in a manner that would make them easier to control and use. (didn't work obviously but that's besides the point) The aftereffect for it is that they turned out more evil because his programming made the whole "kill goku and his friends" thing stick in their minds more dominantly but at the same time make them weaker because they were still being suppressed. In the present he didn't get to do this so they kept their original power and didn't have a bloodthirsty mindset.

Goku beating King Cold and Frieza, Gohan achieving Super Saiyan, etc. I somehow never even thought of why/how the future androids were weaker. Just some obvious things that I miss sometimes 😂 I just wish that Goku could have communicated with Gohan or Gohan being able to communicate with Trunks. But maybe it was best for Trunks considering how young he was at the time. He wouldn't understand how Gohan could,be talking to him if he's already dead

Future trunks timeline is the original dbz timeline the one were familiar with is an alternate timeline where goku survived so the dbz series switched over to an alternate timeline because trunks future is still the dbz we watched from the sayian and namek sagas then they split apart when trunks went back in time strange the future trunks movie is the real dbz the series is not

Trunks might have been extremely strong in his base for from Gohan’s training. Gohan seemed to believe if Trunks could be a super saiyan, they could win, so maybe he didn’t grow so much in those 3 years, but he was already plenty strong.

The manga implies the arms wouldnt make a difference. and for the HTC yes I think it would make a difference but it's implied the lookout was blown up.

But didn't Gohan have senzu for Trunks in the anime? So if he still had some up until that point maybe Korin's tower and the lookout was still there. That's until Black came of course lol.

we did see that yajirobe was alive in the goku black arc but he was living on the ground which makes me think that korin as well as both his lookout and kamis may have been destroyed which may mean that senzu beans were ultimately destroyed as well since future yajirobe doesnt have any

Why didnt freeza resurrrection happened in the future trunks timeline. I heard that future trunks said that he never got resurrected but what about sorbet and tagoma? Were they not alive in that timeline?
Going to Earth was a last resort for Sorbet and Tagoma. They only went because they couldn't find New Namek, making Earth the only place with Dragon Balls that they knew about. The changes to the events on Earth in the Future Trunks timeline wouldn't have affected them, but there would have been no point going to Earth if there were no Dragon Balls. Considering they put the planet under surveillance in the main timeline, it's safe to assume they did the same in the future. They probably took one look at Future Gohan or Future Trunks and said, "Yeah, nope. Not going there if there's nothing we need."

In order to use the "Namekian Dragonballs", you have to speak a Namekian password and then speak the wishes in Namekian which I makes me doubt Future Bulma, Gohan, and Trunks know Namekian.
Dende also takes Kami's position during the Present Timeline Cell Saga and so that wouldn't happen in Future Trunks Timeline because the Cell Saga never happened because Goku died.
Why didn't Goku teleport to Namek and let Dende heal him from the heart virus?
Well when we see Goku in the Present Timeline not able to do anything with the heart virus, it's safe to say that the heart virus might be strong enough to keep Goku from using his powers.
Also in the Buu Saga, Goku told Dende that New Namek was too far away for him to use Instant Transmission because their ki signatures were too far away.
Goku didn't master Instant Transmission until after the Cell Saga.

Goku not telling the Z Fighters or anyone else about the Hyperbolic Time Chamber is the main reason why they didn't use the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.

Well The Z Fighters and Bulma as well as the viewers just got to know what Instant Transmission was so we didn't realize all the things we know NOW about Instant Transmission that we did when the Cell Saga started.

Future Trunks never knew about the Hyperbolic Time Chamber but IMO I think Future Trunks thought that with Goku(Goku was the strongest of all the Z Fighters at the time then Future Trunks was 2nd.) learning about his heart virus and the androids that Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, and Piccolo would easily train for 3 years(I say 3 years because Goku heart virus doesn't show up til his fight with Android 19.) and defeat 17 and 18 so he returned to his timeline.
Future Trunks later comes back after seeing Android 19s head and Android 20(Dr. Gero) and realizes the timeline was messed up. I imagine that Dr. Gero probably saw that Future Trunks came from the future when he killed Frieza and King Cold because remember Cell is also made of King Cold DNA as well and for the storyline to make since, 17 and 18 were made stronger.
Future Trunks did go back to the past like you stated in your question and train in the time chamber but the androids were the least of anyone worries because Piccolo found Imperfect Cell(which came from a different timeline than Future Trunks timeline) and his purpose. Now mind you without absorbing humans from town to town, Imperfect Cell wouldn't be a match for SSJ Goku, Vegeta, or Future Trunks and would get destroyed instantly by 17 and 18 if he tried to absorb them because 17 and 18 are way more powerful in the Present Timeline.
Why didn't Future Trunks find the Androids place of origin?
Present Bulma did know of Dr. Gero and where his lab was at which was in North City and Future Trunks when he first talked to Goku stated that Dr. Gero created the Androids but it's never STATED in The History of Trunks that Future Bulma, Gohan, or Trunks knew about Dr. Gero being the one to create the androids so I guess the writers want the viewers to think that Bulma, Gohan, and Trunks knew about Dr. Gero.
If you go on Dragon Ball wiki and read Bulma biography during the Red Ribbon Saga, it never states anything about Dr. Gero or Androids until the Cell Saga.

It's most likely that he became a Super Saiyan after Krillin and Piccolo died.
In the manga, 17 does say that him and 18 only kept Gohan around throughout the 13 years as their amusement. In the anime, Gohan was actually much more powerful as he was stronger than both of the Androids individually. So it was harder.
As for why the Zenkai boosts didn't work, well…after Frieza, Zenkai boosts from injuries were pretty small unless you almost died. Only reasonable explanation is that Gohan came back from every fight heavily injured, but not near death. So…yeah they were pretty insignificant.

I think it's a narrative thing for why the Z-fighters deaths were so final. It's hard to keep the tension if Goku, Piccolo and Vegeta were having regular conversations with Trunks and Gohan via King Kai. And the idea of Baba bringing someone back for a day likely didn't exist yet. Because yeah, that doesn't make much sense otherwise.
Ya know I just realized something if the nemek dragon balls can't bring back people who have died of natural causes then why didn't someone just kill goku right before he died of the virus then he could be wished back
It may be a bit of a stretch, but possibly because the virus had weakened him so much it mighta still counted as natural causes due to the virus being the main cause and driving factor of why he died. That or because everyone still believed he might pull through or simply couldn't bring themselves to do such a thing, or potentially just didnt think of the idea of killing him before the virus as a work around for wishing him back.

i think after the androids killed everyone and realised Goku was dead, it allowed them to explore, grt drunk on power and indulge their dark desires. With no one to stop them, they only continued destroying. thats how i see it at least as to why they seem mpre aggressive in the future

Vegeta prolly never became SSJ, Piccalo was killed so Kami died as well. Gohan became SSJ when Piccalo died.

That least question. I think, in the future Trunks timeline, they killed Dr. Gero early. But in the present timeline, Dr. Gero managed to turn them of, and encapculate them, essentially charging them more up and making them stronger (+ making them less aggressive, I agree).

The only explanation for the lack of communication is that something different happened with King Kai. Maybe they started to train there with him, but blew up his planet, causing a fuss.

Like did Vegeta do the same training to achieve Super Saiyan as he did in the present timeline? What was everyone doing after Goku died and how were they? How did the fights between Goku and MechaFrieza & King Cold (as you said) & the fight the Z fighters had with the Androids go (they all died, yes, but a more elaborative version would be greatly appreciated)? What was Gohan's training like and what was his first time achieving Super Saiyan like? How was Gohan's 1st couple of fights with the Androids like? What did Trunks do between the time Gohan died and when he fought the Androids after that? What did Trunks do between the time he killed the Androids/Cell & the time Goku Black showed up? I think trunks is more closely tied to the changes in the androids then we are told. Gero still had 3 years to work on 17 and 18 after the death of king cold. If another super saiyan had appeared, I can totally see him boosting their power more than needed to compensate while also adding 3 androids for insurance. Since one of those androids would be him, it stands to reason he may dial back their misanthropy so that they wouldnt immediately turn on him. Which they did anyway which is funny.
The real question is how Cell factors into that future timeline. Like, why?

My best guess to gohan to why gohan grew slowly and trunks growing so fast was gohan just wanted to stall long enough for the city to evacuate and get out without major injury while trunks was fighting until he was knocked out on the floor try to kill them because the androids did want to break their toy (Trunks) so he got a lot more zenkais
In regards to trunks getting stronger than gohan in 3 years is because Trunks bought the android way more often then gohan did. Which gave him a lot of battle experience.

it's a possibility that Trunks is just like Gohan. Saiyan/Human hybrid with insane potential. Plus, being the progeny of Vegeta and Bulma, he has a lot of spirit and willpower. He's been through quite a bit but manages to keep it all together.
That brings up an idea for a video! Does Future Trunks have PTSD? There were a few moments in Super where he seemed to display signs of psychological distress. Wouldn't be surprised considering all the shit with the Androids, Cell, Black and Zamasu. And the fact that after ALL of his fighting, his timeline ended up being erased by Future Xeno. I feel sorry for the guy, man.

As for their wickedness they didn't any of the same interactions with the Z fighters as the present timeline being Cell wasn't around. And for Trunks being as strong as he was I think he had the same or greater hidden potential then Gohan.
