i found this box in the scrap yard, it will work perfect for what i want it to hold, but first, its gotta be a little less ugly. follow me on instagram!!! www.instagram....
my brother gave me a truck box that was given to him. he got his use from it and it was just sitting around for years after. i have about 30-35 in it now after putting new springs and locks in it. thanks to amazon and china. it had 2 holes knocked in it as well. i just used a boat patch on it, fiberglass and resin. planning on putting that side on the back so, not a concern. it will hold water now, i tried it with some purple power scrubbing the crud out of it. i also used rtv on the latches. i'm a polish or paint away from having a decent box.
Next time try gasoline to remove the adhesive if you don’t have Goo gone And when you use WD and then you’re going to paint just use dish soap or any type of degreaser Oven cleaner or anything along those lines to clean it
8:10 “alright ladies and gentlemen, probably mostly dudes” i have no idea why but I laughed so loud I woke my wife and kids and I was laughing so hard I started to cry 😂😂😂😂😂
I laughed to dear😂cause l'm a chick sitting here watching this, cause my Dad inherited my Moms tool box when she passed away and it's been sitting well I'd say 12 or 15 yeas so my Dad recently gave it to me, that's why I'm watching this video is to get some tips on what to do to redo this TOOL😂BOX.
Sweet I just got the same stuff you used got a plate on the front of my trailer I’m going to try and tackle. Thanks for the quick response man and the box looks awesome dude
Didn’t even show us the actual painting. And did you even do any sanding or etch priming? 🤦🏽♀️ And yes I’m a Lady but wish I hadn’t wasted 13min watching, as didn’t teach me anything
@@Bufordboone yea hence junk ! I got a homemade just regular square box just to have for storage but its ugly the box works just a quick fix wanted to see what ppl were using lol JUNK!!

Love the runs haha
Adds character
How does it look now
You should order a nice craftsman sticker or logo off amazon and slap it back on the center of the toolbox where you took off the last one
I thought about it, sold the box though.
Should of taken a scourer to it all , then lightly primed , then painted with anti chip .
I wasn’t that worried about it, I knew it wasn’t gonna last long in the truck anyway.
Hey brother, hows the box holding up?
Thinking about painting my diamond plate plates around my truck bed!
I honestly don’t know how it has held up, I sold it not long after this to put a stack in the truck.
How many coats did it take to spray it?
SilverFin2016 I think I did 3
But I used pretty decent paint as well.

SilverFin2016 good luck!
Mine doesn’t even cover 1/4 lol
So how has the paint job held up so far?
It was a great paint job, but as soon as anything hit it the paint would chip pretty easy
Generally, you want to prime with acid etch primer. Then apply your paint. I use to paint signs and everything we built was aluminum of some sort.
What size bed does your truck have?
Traxxas Rules 8 foot
Hey, let's "restore" this tool box! Yeah all we need is a can of paint!!! Bahaha
It was 3 cans! Thank you!
🤣 piss por job 💯
Your mom did a piss poor job as well.
Spotted the fake pee

It would be better if you clean it really good and then polish the chrome it would be a better finish than just paint. That's a little lazy.
I don’t like chrome.
Think he said to clean and polish it before painting 🙄
Say the word junk one more fucking time
Junk
@@Bufordboone 😂 I actually found this cuz I gotta paint “a piece of junk diamond plate box” JUNK
@@sonnycalzone7784 honestly I only painted it cause I was to broke to buy a new one, and this box was in BAD shape and black covers everything lol.
