Not how it works mate, Chelsea simply found loop holes to exploit, its called amortisation, I did post another message explaining how it works above.
They get away with (so far), because they offer or give new signings 5-8 year contracts and can pay off the other team over that term. 8 year contracts were meant to be abolished last season, but Chelsea still used them.
They have spent over £1.2 billion in 3 years of their new ownership, and I doubt they got a minimum £1.85 billion back.
I don't see this ever happening in a million years, but Chelsea having the audacity to even make an approach is absolutely infuriating. How they are allowed to spend so much this early into the transfer window after spending over a billion in the past year is absolutely disgraceful. Shows the level of corruption that's built into PSR.

@@lukebrach3942 The way Chelsea have gotten around it is by spending big and giving huge contracts of 6,7,8 years, so any fee for a player is divided buy his contractual length.
For example you buy a player for £100m and give him an 8 year contract, it means his cost is only 12.5m a season, so it then means if they spend £1billion they can divided that entire spend over the length of the contracts, so they may only be actually spending £125m a season on transfers, it is called amortisation.
Now the big downside is if the player flops or gets injured and loses value you are tied to very long contracts and dead weight, it also means that a team like Chelsea need to be in the top 4 EVERY season to account for that £125m spend on players.
They will eventually need to sell unless they can become more successful and earn more money to keep in line with PFR rules further down the line, hopefully that makes sense?
They have found loopholes to exploit which most other teams have so far not jumped on.

Last season if they had a top class striker I think they would have made top 4. London has to be a big draw for him plus he'll probably more than double his salary. At the end of the day he has a contract so the ball is in our court. If our board don't want to sell then he won't move, he doesn't seem the type to down tools and go on strike. The decision that's made will tell a lot about the real ambition of our board. There's no way we'll be able to replace Isak with a player of similar quality due to the fact that we have no European football to offer.....even Arsenal are struggling to find a striker this summer.

We are building our team, Isak has to remain, Minteh, Bruno, are also the corner stones of the team, £120m is good but Who do you replace him with, the future should see Minteh and Isak forming a formidable partnership, we so desperately need, the videos that I have seen of Minteh, remind me of Peter Beardsley great all rounder. Selling a player for £150m+ is a fakse economy anyway. As soon as other clubs know you have this money they start asking for £60m for dan gosling etc or no deal. You have to massively overspend to recruit and the money goes to nowhere.
Think this story is a non starter. We should be asking for a minimum £150 million and even then i would want more but even then you don't replace a player of that quality. Eddie has already said it's imperative we keep Isak. I think Minteh and Callum Wilson will be sold to sort out psr. The prem need to sort it out and bin these rules it's anti-competitive.
