What Artumbo did is inarguably the worse of the two offenses, flat out. But - if I had a nickel for every time GuobaCertified was caught trying to instigate drama between 2 HSR content creators and then run away and apologize when caught, I'd have 2 nickels. How long till we make it 3?

Compare it to the gacha smack one where he actually used his position of trust to patronise gacha smack(which he did fix up afterwards) compared to this one which is literally a mistake anyone could make the gap is clear
@@Scope34 Calling someone out for stealing content isn't just some "dumb comment", especially when it's coming from someone who is claiming to be your friend. Imagine your so-called friend is publicly calling you out for potentially stealing content, and they reply "holy backreading" after you give your response. Even if you can't understand why randoms would be mad, it shouldn't be hard to understand as to why ZMM would personally be heated. Trying to make it seem like it wasn't a big deal was the exact purpose of making that joke at that moment to begin with.
@@anon4767 as a chatter, when I saw HOLY BACKREADING, i myself interpreted that as memeing or even just joking. But i do get that if you are involved in a claim, u would look at it on a serious note. So, its just a joke made on the wrong time.
Another thing is, all of this couldve been avoided if Guoba just DMd instead of talking it in a public chat. While i do understand that he is a guide maker and I also see him in some reddit conversations so i know that he has that spirit of a general chatter like if a nobody points it out then one will just ignore it. So, as a content creator that make credible guides, i think he should be more mindful on what he says and where he says it.
I know it sucks that it seems like u are altering ur personality because of it but that is just the truth. Unless of course his guides had personality added in it like inserting jokes here and there something like how brax does his guide.
I understand why people would try to defend Gouba when in comparison it's not as bad as stealing content but to me Gouba had no reason to try and call out Zmm (because he actually credits his sources) so that was just a flat out lie, but also because Gouba chose to not call out Artumbo when the latter is obviously at fault, Gouba could've just kept quiet.
I understand Zmm's pov fully because he was being ripped off AND unjustly attacked so it's completely understandable that they're both in the same video.
I feel like Zmms's response is well presented and completely justified.

Guoba: phrasing was a mistake, saying it in public was a mistake, not fully covering his ass and at least checking the vid's description and comment was a mistake, the response made in part jest (holy backreading) to zmm's was a mistake, was just being dumb in general, hopefully he actually learns from this and thinks through things more moving forward
Zmm: felt reaching at certain points (stealing about thinking the owner not deserving respect, guoba being about policing and putting himself above others), some would say a bit of an overreaction, but i think for the most part most things were warranted

34:53 I think the reason why Zmm got so angry at little bear is because of how he kept holding in the fact that Artumbo stole his content. He was probably pissed, hurt and Guoba's comment did rub salt to his wound and probably was the last straw for him
Attacking a content creator on public server is not a small thing lol.
Reasons why this is actually a bigger thing than people give credit for:
1.Guoba indirectly called Zmm a plagarist,when he could have used dm's, unless he wants some attention or clout.
2. Zmm defended himself perfectly,and shoutout to nak for responding immediately,what would have happened if nak didn't responded to this or supported Zmm,that he gave him his permissions.
3. Guoba is not even related to this entire thing,he just self inserted himself.
4. And Guoba response to the Zmm defending himself against was not even serious, he's not even said sorry and choice to reply "Holy Back reading" .
Even tectone said guoba should shut up and that guoba was wrong in this case.
Meanwhile mr pokke playing down the guoba role is just sad, it's honestly a L take from mr. Pokke, didn't expected his initial reaction changed so quickly by the end of the video.
Most of this issue could have been dealt with if Guoba apologised sooner in that public server, but chose not to because he don't want to agree that he was wrong in public, unnecessary ego.
Listening to Guoba's convo with Mr Pokke, both of them are more concerned with Guoba getting cancelled anyway.
No idea why Guoba insists his main wrong is on being a hypocrite instead of not being a decent human being by dissing others in public.

Zmm is a content creator he earns money from his uploads and he might be relying on it to pay off some of his bills.
Imagine if they're chefs and Guoba just publicly accuse Zmm for stealing the recipe they use for cooking.
Zmm is in the right here and is protecting himself he wasn't stealing recipes he was the one being stolen of the recipes and this is just him showing reciept.

Anyway, at the end of the day all these HSR content creators say the same thing. What it boils down to is who's presentation and personality you enjoy the most.
Going forward, I won't be watching anyone childish enough to have a beef over a gotcha game.

Just feel so bad but also proud of Zmmm. Also, while I can see that he may have been overreacting about Guoba. I think he may have felt that he was being ganged up by other content creators especially with the scheme Artumbo pulled on him. At the end of the day, everyone is entitled to their own feelings, so if Zmmm felt hurt by Guoba, there's nothing to undermine there. Honestly, if I was Zmmm, I'm not sure I would want to reconnect with the person that plagiarized him. This whole drama was so bad. I watched Artumbo and Guoba occasionally, and it was disappointing to see this behavior :C
Accusing someone of stealing isn’t a joke. Shouldn’t dumb down Dramacertifieds actions especially when this isn’t the first time.
Artumbo and Guoba are sorry they got caught. You don't apologize just with words. You apologize with actions. I would like to see Artumbo taking down all the videos he copied from others, for starters. And as Tectone said, Guoba needs to shut up and stay in his lane, instead of chatting in public discord servers and self-reporting. Not even E6 Dr. Ratio can cure their idiocy.

@@Rhoki11 'Steal' seems like a pretty harsh word. I cleared C12 2 days after the release of G&G using this method, i wrote the script, recorded, edited and uploaded the guide a week later. Between that time and the release of the video, i also recorded 40 guide videos covering every hidden achievement in v1.6 as that was the priority.
Honkai star rail is not a difficult game, and the mathematics behind it are quite simple and i would not be surprised at all to think that hundreds of others came to a similar conclusion.

He was NOT overreacting about Guoba. If Guoba was a nobody no one would care bc a nobody's opinion holds zero weight. Its literally THE FACT THAT HE IS A CC that makes it bad. Because it holds weight. Because people will look at it and believe it without investigating it themselves. Because it will start a rumor about ZMM's channel and had he not "backread" to see the comment it would have went unanswered and ZMM's reputation as a CC would be tarnished without him even fucking realising it. It's a big deal to accuse a CC, who's entire livelihood revolves around making content, of being a fraud and plagiarizing. That could ruin his channel. He'd be out of money and a community and no way to provide for himself IF this was what he was doing for a living. All becuase of a "dumb joke". It's not a goddamn joke if it can impact someone's life negatively. Nor is it less damaging than stealing his comment. The fuck are you smoking kid? No one cares about the opinions of content creators unless you are 12 or have no original thoughts in your head. The are nobodies just as much as the randos that comment and the trolls, to think otherwise just tells me you spend an unhealthy amount of gime online. Try leveling up your social life and gaining some life experience, Artumbo could have ignored the drama and continued and he would still make money, but he wants to be part of the community so he apologized. I always assume these creators just cannibalize each other anyways.
This is just sad; I follow both Artumbo / Guoba as they are genuinely good CC's from a viewer's perspective, but this lack of empathy is just leaves a bad insinuation as to their character. And for Guoba this is now two strikes.
Edit: Seems like this comment got some traction. To follow up, I've basically unfollowed both of them and will wait and see 3 months down the line whether they've taken a lesson. I don't like to brigade / cancel people on whatever is the drama of the day cues for and I think everyone deserves chance at redemption, but a suspension is a proportionate response. Just my 2 cents

To be honest I don't think Guoba's content is very good. I used to watch him but his videos waste too much time on really basic stuff and he fails to properly discuss his calculations other than energy calcs (and energy calcs are really easy). He just presents very professionally so it comes off as pleasant and informative but I rarely learn anything of genuine value.
For example, in his latest video on the DoT set, when it gets to his actual calcs, he doesn't do any explanation about the assumptions he made for his calcs (because ALL calcs have to make assumptions).
Not only that, but despite it being a comparison-focused video, he establishes the damage increases of each relic set SEPARATELY before comparing them. Why? Instead of this whole roundabout process of showing Relic A's damage increase over nothing, then Relic B's damage increase over nothing, and finally compare them at the end; why not just directly show Relic A's damage increase over Relic B?
When the entire video can be summarized in a single concise infographic without losing any value, I don't consider it a good video
I learn way more from MrPokke's informative videos and it's not even close.
@@cheezie9520 i think it's a bit of nitpick and preference tho, i do follow both and in the end i just want to know which one is better while the calculation is kinda whatever, because just to be honest if you can just get your answer right away the video won't be more than 1 minutes anyway, thus why it feels like a bit nitpick because i believe many people just wanna know if it worth to farm a new set or the general idea of the best build, The video could only show that the comparison is about x% and done, whether you want to pursue it or not, it's back to the individual.
Back to topic, but i agree that at least Artumbo is more like fun video more than guide ? So i never seen Artumbo channel being informative at all because it just shows that in the end Relics matter and git gud with your relics farm.

I don't know what it is called but what Guoba did there when he said 'Holy backreading' is what I call Joke-jab. Gouba meant it as 99% joke and 1% jab. But unless you are really close with the one you're speaking/joking with, this might be seen as 99% Jab and 1% joke.

HOLY backreading. I will say tho, I agree with guoba and pokke. Out of the two, guoba’s was a joke (a poor one) but it was still a light jab (in comparison). Artumbo’s was…. Yeah that shit is bad. Caused an unsub from me personally. I’m not about to support a creator who just steals content. Quite a shame, as I liked his qq vids.
Never got the "I'm unfollowing/unsubbing" mentality for someone's content just because who they are behind the content. When you first come to someone's channel. You aren't there for their personality. You are there initially because the content they made was very cool or informative to you. Its not like the guy is a vlogger or something. You don't know the guy. Most CCs you watch are probably not perfect people either but apparently cause you discover they aren't so robotic like in the vids and are more human, they suddenly can't have my attention.
You can do you but i srsly think the logic is screwed here.
To extend on it i'll give an example. If someone comes out with the cure for cancer but it came at the cost of horrid human experimentation and a lot of death. Would you still not accept using the cure to cancer?
@@Ty_Jac this situation is more like, a smaller not well known dr found the cure for cancer, but then a well known Dr took his work and labeled it as his own giving no credit to his source at all. And then receiving the credit for making “original” content. So in artumbo’s case, how do we know if he isn’t just taking the info from another person’s guide? We won’t know unless it was pointed out. And at this point in the game, I can always just watch other content creator’s work. It doesn’t have to be that content creator’s videos.

35:14 MrPokke, you're missing the point completely. GuobaCertified is a MAJOR content creator with a lot of clout. What he says matters, even if a mistake or a joke or whatever... when speaking to or about smaller content creators. Zmm doesn't have the clout or followers or whatever. Major content creators going around attacking (yes he attacked Zmm) is a power imbalance and makes smaller content creators FEAR speaking out. That's part of why Zmm didn't call out Artumbo. That's why it's HIGHLY relevant to the Artumbo content theft.
And yes, the content theft is SERIOUS for smaller creators. They put in all this hard work and to get it stolen by a bigger creator AND have to have their content fight - THEIR OWN CONTENT kills smaller creators. It's serious.
I'm adding a reply to follow up after watching the entire Pokke video. Guoba's post apologizing goes a long way. I'm not mad at Guoba - he honestly seems to have made a mistake. He needs to recognize that he has power as a major content creator. He needs to recognize how what he says matters a lot more when speaking with or about smaller creators. With great power comes great responsibility. It's not just a meme.
As for Artumbo. He needs to take the videos down - they're still stealing views and ad revenue from Zmm (and anyone else he stole from). And he should give the ad revenue he earned to Zmm and others. Zmm can decide how to divide that revenue with Zakfrg or whoever he feels deserves it.
Do I think Artumbo can be redeemed? Yes, IF he takes the videos down and gives the ad revenue to Zmm. And he needs to never do these things again. People make mistakes. Greed and laziness can overcome the best of us. But IF he makes amends, I think he can redeem himself.
Guoba has apologized. I think he just needs to be more aware of his power and his effect on others.
I think the community can heal if people make proper amends.
Even tho both parties already apologized, i really hope artumbo gets real consequence because the shit he pulled is vile. Guoba on the other hand is fine, it's much easy and possible to forgive that.

Guoba is harder to forgive here because this isn't the first time he's instigated nor the first time he's "apologized". Artumbo's honestly the more mature between the two for how he handled this, and I have higher hopes that he will do better in the future. But only time will tell.

Not to mention this is so normal, someone who throws shades on discord, who has some sort of double standards or is bias towards his friends. So while what he did was still bad, this was just like telling someone to quit an annoying habit, and just like w bad habits, it takes a long time to get rid of.
It's pretty disappointing that we live in an era where events like these are farmed and milked for content, even though that drama was already resolved.

One issue I have with all this is people claiming some of this stuff as theirs. This game is not that complicated, many people can end up coming up with the same strats without referencing anything. The clear plagiarism copy is clearly bad, but if it was not obvious, anyone can come up with that. I was using Remembrance to clear normal Sim well before Swarm released so like of course if I saw how op it was in Sim, someone would try to make use of it in Swarm.
Yeah, a lot of people were. And his guide was also not the first, even in the west. There's a lot of day 1 guides coming out as people know of leaks, play beta etc.
Seems really weird to make it sound like he had figured out some kind of "elite strat" when the particular strategy wasnt anything new at all.
Even so, plagiarism still exists. It's one thing to independently arrive at similar strategies, it's another to outright quote a mistake outright. That's where it goes from "ehh, could've been coincidence" to very sus.

And that's USING A F2P TEAM, when you could've easily used a 5 star unit or two (gepard instead of nat, jingliu instead of herta, hell even yangqing instead of herta). Of course, I still think all of this wasn't needed. Except the guoba part of the drama, my guy stated "I don't want to partake in any kind of drama" and then started beef on purpose in public chat. Not dms, but in the public for everyone to see.

"holy backreading" is such a terrible "joke" to make. People always say they're joking when they understand how much what they said can hurt.
Plus, here you were accusing him of something THAT WAS HAPPENING TO HIM by one of YOUR OWN friends, he responded calmly, and here you respond back to him with attitude and lack of any semblance of taking responsibility for being wrong. Sometimes accusing plagiarizing is just as bad as the plagiarism itself -- because it can ultimately tarnish someone's reputation, whether they did actually plagiarize or not.
It's literally just a lack of maturity. Hopefully Artumbo and Guoba can do some real growing up from this whole event.

Honestly pretty pleased with this response from the two, prompt and honest. Not that it's particularly noble as the evidence was rather clear but I've seen a lot of drama turn into accusations back and forth for no good reason.
Agree with most folks here, Artumbo has earned an unsub for now and Ill see if he takes real action like taking the vid down and anything else. Guoba, well to me that was just inelegant, a slip in the server. We hold content creatoes to higher standards but he is just a person. I did find the conment briefly highlighted in the video very aggressive so hopefully not too much of that in the future, but for now I don't feel like I need to drop the bear.

Still watching. At the point of coming up with the strategy and it working first try, not a big issue. My first clear on Swarm 5 was Nihility path, I don't have Kafka NOR ANY dot character build. I just decided I didn't have the damage to clear, I am going to tank with blade and high def supports and let the path do all the dmg. It was a stupid idea that worked on my first try. (pretty sure someone else I don't know has done it before, btw)

I had a similar experience. Its not online, its just I caught someone in the act of abusing authority, and she called on relatives instead of calling on authorities. In the end, the truth came out. The abuser and the cohorts never came back to apologize. The only thing I gained is being shown their true colors immediately, and severing ties to such people.

It's funny that I watched this after the Blade video. Sometimes I'll scroll thru the comments and see some people ask questions that go unanswered so I try to help a bit if I can. I always preface that it's just one person's opinion tho. Then someone else came in and asked me another question about LC. I then explained a lil bit but since MrPokke had made a video regarding which LC to pull when not sure I referred them to that video since MrPokke has a lot more insight and credibility than a mere youtube commenter. Credit where credit is due.
I found similar case with Terraria youtuber, but they somehow act more mature and solve the problem in short.

CRAZY IK) like 2 years ago but it's more normally drama around the VAs or Twitter and TikTok users complaining about some silly thing or another, but that's just par for the course for those platforms.
Do you know a creator called Guru Larry? He makes Fact Hunt, a list series but he always inserts a fact or two purposefully wrong in his videos. Now, around 6 years ago WatchMojo didn't know about that and copied his content, wrong facts and all. That became a whole thing. Anyway, Artumbo getting caught because of false info reminded me of that.

As for my experience with Artumbo, I once subscribed to his channel, but unsubscribed almost in three days. The reason was that he sounded as "the most clueless CC" to me: laughing at every single action as if he did not expect their outcome at all, and just boasting of his E6s.
To me what Guoba did is almost worse cuz he's gonna get away with it. I assume Artumbo did it to grow his channel with the scummiest way possible, while Guoba did it only to put himself on top by making others look worse. If intent is what we consider here then what Guoba did strikes me as more sinister.
Nah, plagiarizing is way worse in this scenario. Guoba's situation is forgivable even if it isn't good, he can potentially learn from his mistakes and reflect on himself. Artumbo straight up copying other people's content almost word for word is straight up disgusting and imo unforgivable, his credibility is ruined.

Zmm having to hold back his distress and frustration of Artumbo stealing his content for 4 months without properly crediting or citing his sources and references and with full supportive evidence to back up his claims against Artumbo, it makes me feel really disappointed in him. I hope Zmm receives a proper apology from Artumbo soon.
For Guoba, like he and MrPokke said, it was absolutely the wrong place and the wrong time to make a joke that jabs and pokes fun at another creator. It was clear to me though at a glance that the comment that Guoba made was for 'shits and giggles'. The fact that Guoba had to make a long-ass community post essay to explain the errors of his decision of making that comment in that moment on that public server, longer than Artumbo's severe offense of PLAGIARISM, actually bugs me because Guoba did not have to go through those lengths to rectify his mistakes and was clearly regretful and apologetic. Again, wrong place at the wrong time.
Artumbo should be the one to post a lengthy apology video and essay towards Zmm, hopefully one that is longer than Guoba's (Guoba's was long enough tbf, and not saying this should be a competition), since the plagiarism is the real main problem here.
