So freaking good. Found this because I’ve been looking at buying an a7s III. But found myself forgetting what camera it was shot on and just simply enjoyed the beauty of the video. Absolutely perfect. You seriously nailed the sound design so perfectly!
Amazing shots. I think my fav was 0:36 . You really nailed the lighting and composition for the 'cinematic' feel, i find the filmic look to have really low mids and blacks which a lot of people don't consider, but you captured it really well. What was your main lens? And do i detect a diffusion filter?
Thank you! That's a classic shot for me as well. I'm glad you thought I nailed the cinematic look. When it comes to my personal work, I always love going darker, especially low mids and blacks. I know that's not for everyone, but it's my personally favorite look. I actually shot this entire thing with the 24-70 f2.8 gm. And I threw on a ProMist filter (1/4) for those shots in the evening! Good eye!
This is actually all just on standard camera stabilization! I did add warp stabilizer whenever it got a little wobbly, but I mostly tried to be as smooth as possible haha.
Thanks. I miss being home, but I only return to Chicago for Winter Retreats (sub-zero temps). Maybe next year my A7SIII and I will get there. Great footage!
The simplicity is beautiful! It's always refreshing to see something so good yet simple. I need to make some trips to the city when I'm back home this summer.
Thank you so much! I was definitely going for timeless with this video. Sometimes simplicity just works. Summer is hands down the best time to be around here, so I hope you get to make a few trips down!
this is wonderful, very nice grading love your simple edit and audio choice, fell kinda Studio Ghibli vibe cant imagine if you were in Kyoto and got some scenery there with this audio track
Thank you! I was really trying to make it feel as timeless as possible. And not to try and persuade you even more... but it might be my favorite camera I've ever shot with... I've been thinking about picking up a second one haha.
@@WilbertC that’s enough to get me to buy it now, I’m sold !! great video again man, love the lowkey RUclipsrs but really won’t be surprised when you shoot up soon
You nailed this! Everything about it, the color, sound design, pacing! Definitely one of the best videos I've seen. What picture profile did you shoot on and did you grade each clip or use a lut?
Thank you so much! I really appreciate those kind words! I shot this in S-log 3. I used the S-Log 3 conversion LUT from Sony to switch this from Log to Rec703. But other than that, I didn't use any LUT! Just did some adjustments in Lumetri.
This is beautiful work, Wilbert. Just popped up on my recommended - maybe because I'm in Chicago, but also maybe because I'm currently lusting after your camera! :) You hit many of the favorite spots in the city. Do you live here?
Thanks so much! I really appreciate that. I actually just licensed most of the sounds from Epidemic Sound and I do all of my audio editing in Premiere. Nothing too fancy :)
Thank's so much! Actually, a lot of it is such with the onboard microphone. A good amount of the sound design is from Epidemic Sound and just some crafting audio editing.
SLAY. I just wish the sequence at 0:54 was a bit more spread out! Had to pause a couple times to take it in. Super dreamy and great audio mix to bring it to life, too.
Great video! Not sure how you don’t have more subscribers but you can add me to that list. How do you like the a7siii? I am still waiting on mine to be shipped.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the support :) I love it. It's probably my favorite camera I've owned so far. Just a great shooting experience all around. Let me know what you think when you get yours! It's so great.
Thanks for the feedback! Any idea what you would've liked to see instead from a color standpoint? I'm always curious what people think can be improved.
@@WilbertC I don't really have any specifics, other than to experiment w/ varied color values or luts. Seems to me, you'd be the best judge since your work thus far is excellent.
Well done Wilbert! Amazing
Love that Footage.Very nice Impressions of this City.👍🏻👍🏻Greetings and subscribe.
Loved it! Your video is inspiring.

Super smooth shots! Is this on a gimbal, Catalyst Browse, or just the in camera active stabilization?
This is actually all just on standard camera stabilization! I did add warp stabilizer whenever it got a little wobbly, but I mostly tried to be as smooth as possible haha.
@@WilbertC wow that’s super impressive. You have steady hands!
Great what you achieved, the music fits perfectly with the video. It's one of my favorite Chicago cinematic videos!!

Nice one!!
Lot of notes on the color, but this sound design is sumn serious! Great work!
Thank you! I'd love to hear some notes on color if you have a minute. Always working on it!
Nice!! Which lens?
The 24-70mm f2.8 g-master! Probably my favorite lens ever.
What lenses did you use? Loved the angles you chose.
Thank you! I only used one lens for this - I really wanted to keep it simple and travel light. It was a g-master 24-70mm f2.8
