It's my personal experience though as an isfj that to always communicate with rivals or sneaky peers in written form. Because it is easy for us to debate if we have tangible proof to defend ourselves. I faced many organizational politics where being an introvert is quite a difficult thing to debate for yourself but keeping evidence of your good work/ tasks will really help you in defending yourself.
Small anecdote on the ESFJ and isolation... yes, it really does work. Well... mostly. Half the time I tried cutting off contact, he just tried even harder to get through to me. But if you're honest with your feelings, you might just get to the point where the ESFJ is willing to throw down their weapons and listen, because destroying a relationship is the LAST thing they want to do (despite what their actions might say).
Oh yes, by all means. Try frustrating the "Guardian" types. If you are lucky enough the frustration will make us anxious to your profit. This video shows how I as an INTP teaching seemingly INFP-oriented English lessons unintentionally stump ISxJs too often. The lessons are filled to the brim with hypotheticals that I feel comfortable making guesses about even if I know little about them but they cannot guess at all simply because they haven't experienced anything remotely similar. Asking them to fill in the holes in their otherwise stable personal beliefs paralyzes the more passive/inexperienced/lazy ones among them. INFPs are honest with their feelings and expect others to be similarly honest which can be a challenge for both ISTJs and ISFJs. Loops are especially annoying. I think ISTJs on Si-Fi loops are blind to logical truths and are tough to correct. ISFJs on Si-Ti loops are too dispassionate and crumble at the presence of a question about morality (I sometimes feel like my own Fe overpowers theirs). Much younger ISFJs on Si-Ti loops answer in heavily summarized and oversimplified ways to the point I sometimes mistype them as ISTPs.
