I have been a mother for a year. I have had difficulties since the birth of my son. It made me relive my entire childhood. I absolutely want to break my family's toxic legacies. Today I discovered your channel. I ordered your book. You tell the story of my whole life in your videos. I believe that thanks to you my life will take a new turn. Thank you for all your work. You are a fantastic person! Much love from France ❤
I’ve learned more from your vids and your IG than I have in decades of therapy. Truly life changing. Thank you !
Hands-down, the most clear explanation of Ego I’ve ever seen on RUclips. Thank you so much.🥂
Just read your Book .The Title in Germany is "heal your self" . Its the best Book I have ever read to understand myself better. Thank you, its a great Book.
This is so me.
it can become so overwhelming that i more often behave out of ego subconsciously. I wish to learn to identiy and starve this ego self.
Thank you@holistic psychologist
What I have learned is to focus on the heart think through, speak through the heart not the brain that seems to stop the ego for me .
Thank you for sharing these points! Healing is a long journey a nd with the proper Love & Guidance can get better! The problem/s have to be recognized for healing to begin! ❤️🙏❤️🙏
I named my ego Maleficent 😊 I really appreciate this technique. I look forward to seeing how it helps me on my journey. Thank you 😁 Love your books, btw 😊
Maleficent😂…Why give it such a glorious name?
I wouldn’t even name it cos all you’re doing is owning it even more.
If you really feel the need to name it may I suggest calling it Shits n giggles rather?
It will help you not to identify with it😂😂
I want to honor my ego, because she was the first person who protected me. Her methods aren't always helpful, but she was there when I experienced whatever I experienced in childhood. I wanted her to be a misunderstood villain.
We are to appreciate the ego, not hating it! It's trying to help us. Listen carefully.
Wow, so that is what my therapist has had me doing for some time, but she didn't describe it as ego work. It has taken me a long time to work this out but it is soooo worth it.
Sometimes you only need one more explanation to finally grasp the concept for good. THIS WAS IT, for me.
Thanks Nicole ❤
Another excellent vid, thanks for sharing a little bit about your own journey.
I wonder if you'd consider any content on darker, but very real, issues, such as sociopathy or malignant narcissism, and the current understanding in your profession about the roots of them.
One of my ego stories is that the world is dangerous and humans vicious and not to be trusted - sure, I've got selection bias, but there's plenty of evidence for it.
Arming yourself with the knowledge will help us to navigate the minefield we seem to be in.
Thanks again for your work, much gratitude.
You are such a special gem for us to learn from :) thanks a million!
Excellent, informative video! Thank you so much again. ❤
Thank you
Thanks for this info and helping to make the ego more relatable and understandable. I so appreciate this 🤗
Really helpful, thank you ❤
Amen to the enth degree!!!!
Great info, thank you 🙏🏼✨
So good!!!
Thank you for your videos. They are proving to be the most helpful on this topic. 🙏💜 That said, my ego has been my protector for most of my life. While I've learned over the years to be cognizant of it... my ego can tend to show up and show out when I'm having a ffff moment. How do I recognize/deescalate its presence the moment Before the moment?
Thank you, this is so helpful right now. My therapist has been talking to me about separating myself from my enmeshed father and being able to separate the true me from the internal enmeshed stuff. Being able to identify when it's the true me showing up by naming my ego and going through the steps you outlined here seems like its going to do alot of good.
Thanks for the info.
Amazing video thankyou! 😊❤
Thank you so much for the easy to understand definition! I now know what "ego" means. Thanks a lot! Appreciate your work, so happy to have found you ❤
This is so helpful. I’m calling her Sheila.
Amazing explanation! Eye-opening, clear and precise. So helpful! Thank you for making these videos!!
Hello Nicole, thank you so much for sharing your work with us !
I was wondering where is the other video about the last one you did on mother wound ? Where is "the ways to overcome it" as you were saying at the end ?
Thanks again. 🙏
Hi, love your work, it's so thorough that often I listen to the videos several times to really digest the concepts. The may sound silly, but does it matter what name you give it? Meaning, does it matter if it's a name you like , dislike, a 'title' or something? Maybe I'm splitting hairs, but it doesnt feel real to me if the name doesnt fit, if that makes any sense.

Isn't this our shadow self?
Ego=Me,More,Now.
What is Soul?
Is this the false self in narcissism?
❤️☀️🌙
You are already separate from the concept Ego. If you are aware of the ego how could you be the ego.
So I guess that what people call the ego death is not completely possible unless you become a buda...I'm just wondering 🤔
True we will always have a aspect of ego that keeps us here . Kim Michaels has lots videos on this .
Ego is Latin for "I." Buddhism seeks to eliminate that "I." It's not necessarily ideal, the choice for everyone, or even healthy. It's just a system of belief that seeks to get rid of "I." That's what they call Moksha. Release.

Ego sum..
Tu es
Ille est
Nos sumus
Vos estáis
Illi sunt...lots of egos to get rid of...
That's what I am saying, we have to get rid of the part which is our parents' construction mainly but we can't even scape from our own language and this is connected with the way we think about egos and everything else outside.
I appreciate your comment but language, culture, brain 🧠... it's like trying to separate philosophy, psychology, sociology and all kinds of disciplines under the umbrella of reality. We can't share a common reality but objective pieces of reality. Even mortality is not shared evenly among all of us. The rich and the nastiest have more longevity than the rest.
It's impossible to get rid of your ego; just make it rest in the back seat, never behind the steering wheel.

Didn't know about Moksha... thanks ☺️
James T. Kirk (shut up) is my idea of a healthy Ego, which simply means "I." Ego has to make choices everyday. But Kirk's choices affects the crew of his ship, the life of others, war and peace. Why I say his Ego is healthy is his two friends and closest advisors. Spock and Bones. Spock is dispassionate and rational, but also clever and curious. Bones is emotional, empathetic, and favors action over thinking, rules be damned. Kirk often listens to both then makes his choice, as Captain (the Ego of the ship). Even in the films we see Kirk's Ego challenged. In Wrath of Khan he has to come to terms with learning he has an adult son, and facing that consequence of who he is and has been. He faces one of his great enemies and perhaps greatest mistakes in Khan. He loses Spock. A sequence of events that he, as captain and a man, set in motion. And he faces it with humility. In Star Trek V he even resists the desire to lose all of his pain, insisting that it is an essential part of who he is. He is always learning and growing (sometimes painfully), while remaining true to himself. Perhaps his ability to set Ego aside is best demonstrated when he time travels and meets and falls in love with the young Joan Collins in 1930s America in City at the Edge of Forever. He knows she has to die in a car accident to prevent the future from changing. The future was the US never enters the war against the Nazis and Japanese, which ups the drama. But the choice is still the same, give up his love or allow a great evil to occur unchecked. Episode was written by Harlan Ellison. Good stuff.
Recognizing my ego, naming it, and treating it like a well-meaning but stupid childhood friend, as Gabor Mate might say, has really helped
I was having some difficulty naming my ego, this helped, thanks
How long have you been making videos Nicole? The audio is tinny and terrible!
Kind of a personal attack- just say “the video audio quality on this one is very poor “
@@Diane_McDon yeah it was a bit blunt. But I look harshly at the unprofessionalism of professional RUclipsrs. Quality audio is a fundamental of the game FGS.
@@chillie000 fair enough
@@Diane_McDon btw, truth be told, I turned the vid off after a minute. The audio just made it too much hassle to bother with. Yes, I’ve heard worse. I was tired and felt “nah, can’t be bothered”.
RUclipsrs need to understand it’s not just annoying, but it adds to the listener’s cognitive load. And if that listener is already tired/distracted ha! Good luck keeping them round!
Ego is you playing God.
Simple.
