Gain 3 by cracking a food. Then equip frying pan to frodo swing unblockable then after blockers before damage crack a bunch more food hit for a tonne was honetly terrifying watching an opponent get 2 shot by frodo 😂

Rick, steadfast leader will be getting a universes within reprint in the Wilds of Eldraine later this year. My guess is that it will drop to about ~$10-$15 dollars. Just letting everyone know so you don't go out and drop $50 on something that will probably fall.

Man I actually really liked the Mordor deck. Swapped to the Saruman for commander and leave Sauron for a mid-late game haymaker. Obviously not on par with most home brewed decks but still stronger than I expected out of the box.
A couple more budget adds for the Food and Fellowship precon: Jaheira, Friend of the Forest is a great way to make your Food more useful, since they become mana rocks, and Samwise Gamgee from the main set, since he's a better version of Gyome for half the mana cost. Also he has a very useful recursion ability stapled to him that synergizes pretty well with the precon since there are a lot of legendary creatures in the list. In addition from the main set, Meriadoc Brandybuck and Peregrin Took are great food synergy pieces.

Treebeard, Gracious Host is super underrated in Food and Fellowship. In a recent game I had Swiftfoot, Mithril Coat and fully loaded ring attached to him and I got him up to a 70/75 with Trample and Ward 2…
They did such an amazing job on the flavor for this set. As a huge Tolkien nerd, every card is referencing a specific in universe thing or event, and even the ones where Joe gets one of the references, there are further layers of reference he isn't getting. It is 🧑🍳💋
Toxic Deluge is a nod to the book ending of Return of the King, in which Saruman has taken over the Shire and enslaved the Hobbits. When Frodo and Sam get back it is completely changed.
The hobbits deck is def my favorite but the Rohan deck is by far the most powerful. These decks seem a lot more powerful than the 40k ones which is odd because 40k has characters who can blow up cities or planets.

I can tell they haven't actually played the mordor deck as the few games ive used it with its alt commander it pops off. The simic deck is the weakest.
Sauron is strong! Taking opponents permanents did work! We played all 4 of them directly out of the box. It was a really fun back and forth. Everyone did stuff. I played Sauron, but used sauroman as the commander. I ended up winning after taking the bat from the hobbit player, then swinging with my dragon that made 14 treasures because he had a ton of food out. I ended up winning from that bat I took from my opponent. The arcane denial stopped the humans player from killing the dragon on attack. Then sacrificing all the treasures knocked everyone out.
It's comforting to know that I can save my cards from someone pouring vodka on them by triple sleeving, using a toploader, then a bullet proof case, in a bank, that I bury underground
Most health I’ve gotten too with food and fellowship was 90, 1 game I probably gained over 200 life but not at once, I was getting hit for atleast 15-20 damage every turn and staying at 40 health the whole time
I had fun with the Mordor deck with my playgroup last night. Agreed it’s probably the weakest of the four out of the box but I got better results with Saruman as the commander in the second game. It’s got potential to be a solid deck once upgraded for sure.
Speaking of liquor on cards I was playing some Imperium precon commander and I spilled my shot of tequila and I saldy did not have that same 3 level of card protection but we were quick to save and dry off the cards

Every time you trigger a food you trigger revolt and that trigger always there so when you get Merry dropping out 1/1 white soldiers that become super strong based on however many counters are on call of unity. I pop my food tokens a ton so this get to be adding +8/8 pretty fast
Naw, you see. The frying pan... that deck especially is heavily theming life-gain around eating food, so the more life you've gained, theoretically the more food you've eaten. The more food you've eaten, the more food you've cooked with the frying pan to eat, so the pan gets extra hot. What's worse than getting struck with a heap of dense metal? Getting struck by a super hot heap of dense metal.
@@teferitoots8043 i print out cards on paper on a 3x3 sheet and cut them out then i place them over draft chaff in a sleeve. Only cost is the sleeves cus i already had the chaff from when i foolishly used to give wotc money.
I think that a cool sword like effect would have been a good add for the food and fellowship deck. Something like +2/+2, protection from creatures with lesser power and when it deals combat damage to a player create a food token and gain 3 life.

One of my favorite synergies in the Riders of Rohan precon is Gilraen, Dunedain Protector and Éomer, King of Rohan. Blink it to give it lifelink, then smack someone for a ton of damage at the end of your turn and gain a bunch of life. Really good.
I know nothing of magic. My buddies been wanting me to play for years. I decided hat if we all get same set pre con then I shouldn’t have to worry about power creep or whatever. Anyways we are each getting a different one and I chose Sauron. What’s the best way to learn magic? 2 players are really good and I don’t want to get completely clapped when trying to learn 😂
Double and the card should be inserted upside down for the inner sleeve. The reason is nothing will ever get into that inner sleeve. Triple sleeving is definitely unnecessary if optimal protection is the goal.
Yeah, I play with a friend who has a decent selection of his own commander decks. Against all of my other pre-cons, he either wins or it's a decent match up. Against my 40k decks he just gets smashed so we tend to just play them against each other.
Kind of a flavour fail having eowyn as the face commander of the Precon. It would have made more sense to have theoden play a role, you know the King of the Rohirrim. The abilities would have got his character more. Eowyn doesn’t do anything related to tokens or mustering armies. Seems like they missed here
@@XheroldX Thats not true at all, they have cards depicting scenes at helms deep, the burning of the westfold, at minas tirith before the seige, afterwards. The Precon is based around the human faction of the free peoples, it is not limited by any particular moment. So Theoden would have been the logical choice as king of Rohan. Eowyn has one remarkable moment in the story, and should have been featured appropriately, but flavourfully not the best choice on the Rohan precon.

I think the Elf deck is better than Rohan, but Halfling is better than Elf and Rohan is better than Halfling. The Sauron deck has good opportunities to get better than all of them.

Best budget upgrades for the Mordor deck is to go to your LGS, dig through a War of the Spark bulk box then find those Amass cards and run Saruman 😁

Frying pan either hits harder because you are well fed and re-energized after, or it is still hot (freshly made food). Not a stretch at all.

I got Mordor and used alt commander after prerelease and won twice in a row. I think it is a mid to late game deck but people are sleeping on it.

My pod calls Stigma Lasher Ligma Lasher. Mono red burn staple.
I think the Elf deck is better than Rohan, but Halfling is better than Elf and Rohan is better than Halfling. The Sauron deck has good opportunities to get better than all of them.
so if mordor the worse deck out of the 4 why is this deck by far the most expensive commander deck?
