Tip on boring hole with holesaw bit on irregular surface or pre existing hole . Bore a hole through a piece of plywood or board and clamp over spot to bore hole. The hole in board will guide hole saw.👍🇺🇲🇺🇲👍
Brilliant! Get a patent on that thing! Maybe figure out a clamping system to clamp the lip of the boat gunwales to the frame (i.e. bolts, angleiron, and wing nuts)? That way you won’t have to struggle with ratchet straps. Also, a tip for shielding welding sparks: a wool blanket, wet towel, or wet cardboard. I can’t wait to see more!
Yeah, I was eyeing the oar locks, they looked like a really good place to attach it. I also want to add the outboard, a set of oars, and a spare tire up there, so I'll need to do a complete update soon. Maybe a winch for lifting, this might get heavy...
Since you painted it and put the gold wheels on it, it looks pretty good. Sounds like a beast. Ive been looking for a LSD rear axle or just the carrier. Ive been looking for months now with zero luck,I figure they must be pretty rare nowadays. I might end up swapping in a Ford 8.8 instead. My little welder won't penetrate the metal deep enough. I'm just gonna tack the new mounting points in place. Then take it to somebody/ some place whose got a bigger welder. Your channel is really good, gave me some good ideas. Thank you.🙂
The sun visor is arguably the greatest benefit of this advancement, followed by preventing hail damage. Let's be real though, you could have just sealed the sunroof with RTV.
I forgot about the hail damage benefit! I do like to have the sunroof being able to open, as this ZJ has the automatic climate control that usually doesn't work...
You Sir are genius! You have just managed to make the world's First jeep brand DUKW duck! All you need to do is flip your jeep off the right bridge and landing on your boat! You may want to keep your outboard mounted to the transom in the upside-down fashion, but it may flood or leak, so that calls for a self righting gas tank system! I have thought about this one for ya and I don't know why? I should be thinking about more important things in life I guess? But if it's not easy to solve or it's not been don't before it bothers me until I find an answer......! So mounting the boat remote tank within the boat will require some sort of gimbal assembly and a counterweighted preferably metal gas tank say from an old Johnson or Evinrude or even a Mercury would work. Picturing the gas tank as a self aligning compass like they used for ships in the old days. Basically a floating tank in a gimbal frame, and the counterweight of more than how much the gasoline weighs should keep the tank upright in normal road driving conditions and as you flip off your bridge and begin to turn over the tank will Basically remain in space as gravity and it's counterweight will then keep it facing the correct direction fuel cap up 👆! Upon landing in the water boat side down hopefully? Connect the quick disconnect fuel line to your outboard and away you go! No problems and absolutely no need to remove the boat! The best part is you remove all those prior steps of loading and unloading the boat, plus all the junk that you have in the jeep is already there will you as well. Life persevers, coolers, fishing poles and tackle boxes. Think about how much time you'd be saving on each loading and unloading. The only problem is getting the jeep back to its wheels. Haven't thought that far ahead yet? But I'm sure it's not too difficult? Using the boat anchor and a power winch I see that being BS in the grand scheme of things LMFAO! Or you could do it the more difficult way and stretch out and widen the boat to fit around the lower half of the jeep and make it an official Jeep DUKW duck that actually can drive into and out of the water under its own power??? Again it solves the problem of boat and accessories handling at all phases. The best part of the second plan is that, you remain in your seat at all times! Who wants to sit on a hard piece of wood half the day? When you could have power windows, a roof, and even heat or AC when your out on the water!? Even if it works maybe some tunes as well, and plenty of non-spillable cup holders while charging your cell phones. Now that's more like it! No BS here man! No boat handling, no trailers to worry about backing into the unknown underwater obstacles or losing a tire on the highway. It basically would solve all your boating and transportation needs! While being much more aerodynamic than any jeep ever made! Of course I would have to made of half inch steel for the dual, dual action of providing the jeep as a off roading skid plate.....1/4" would work as well, but I foresee it getting pretty dented up on the rocks. This way with the 1/2" it's basically bomb proof as well. Just incase you hit any live ordnance left out in the desert from the military testing that's been going on out there for decades now. I mean it just seems to keep snowballing the benefits of the DUKW of the Cherokee and its plethora of uses. No need to ever fear a flash flood out there either, which is always a hazard living in the desert regions. You don't know what the weather's doing 50 miles away? And how many actual dry stream beds you've gone through? This way with the DUKW off road vehicle, you can focus on seeing how badly stuck out in the middle of nowhere you can possibly get from all humanity? If that's your thing? Getting low on fuel? While out exploring the wild? Head for the nearest river and drive on in! Eventually you will float your way to the next closest town which will have a gad station....... See how it just keeps repaying itself over and over again? Or maybe trade a half-track for a used DUKW and put a lift kit in the thing? It maybe easier than converting the jeep over? But you would be missing out on those creature comforts of the Limited Grand Cherokee over a lawn chair WWll searing and wooden bench seats. So it's a toss up of what you're willing to give or take I guess? Good luck and I hope you find this project interesting to think about? I surely did! LOL! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks! For the J-10, I think I've finally collected enough parts to get a chevy/jeep/ford hydroboost system on the brakes, and a few other parts to add. You should see the video in a couple of weeks if all goes well.
I had to buy this one about 15 years ago for a specific job that needed large diameter tubing. Its overkill for most normal things, and unfortunately was not cheap. The big thing I would say is to get a "draw" type bender, which pulls the tubing through the die. This makes a much smoother bend than a "ram/compression" bender, which can give you wrinkles or kinks on the inside of the bend.
@@LowBuckGarage being honest hadn't even noticed the the type difference. Looked at a lots of videos on using different brands . Seems the affordable bender is the cheapest one for being able to do a decent job. But one like or similar to yours I think is a better option. Maybe in the future if economy doesn't crash.
I gave up on patenting things years ago, the cost of even doing it yourself runs into the thousands. Last time I got a patent was when the company I worked for paid for it, but I haven't worked for anyone else for decades!
@@LowBuckGarage . *- Yes, I can understand your point.* *- I think there are/were companies that will help you with this process for a % of your success in either from production/sales or selling the patent.* *- If that is still true...there may be an option you could take advantage of.*

Great idea, I will definitely use that!

What comedy clubs will you be performing at this year. I would love to see your show. ;0)
Your sense of humor is fantastic... The great low-buck projects are just a side bonus. :)
Thanks, I sure appreciate that!
I'm watching what you did with hole saw and I just think "Yup, would have done the same thing... Brute strength and awkwardness"
Your projects. Make me smile
And entertain all of us. Thank you.
That is super. It looks great up there and looks like your design works like a champ. Five speed is just as cool as the paint work!
Thanks 👍
Very cool solution to your "sun roof leak" lol!
Love it! Super nifty idea and solved problems at the same time.
Thanks!
What’s the most waterproof thing in the world? FLEX TA….oh a boat….DUH.😂

Thanks, glad I could help!
Strange but yet if it works run it .. Damage free loading of a boat on the roof is hard to do by your self ! ENJOYED..
Thanks!
You just created a business model.
Love it,hope the wind doesn't get under the front
One word...PATENT. Fabulous vid
Thanks, glad you liked it!
I might try this to put portable solar panels on my car port. Have to see what materials I have to work with.
At least you will be able to see the people you are about to hit when you start blowing red lights.
I personally would have gone with the duck idea. Lotsa rubber duckies siliconed to the perimeter of the sun roof....
Always great content!!!!!!

Ha ha, that was a good read! Thanks!
My lord you could sell the crap out of these in Florida.
I have a 1 man boat loader, pivots on single post in reciever.
GENIUS!! Thanks 👍
In my home state and a few others it’s up to 4 feet of overhang before you need a red flag
That is awesome!
Brilliant desert rat engineering!
Thanks!
Awesome 👍
Good video.do you have solar in your shop ,I see the windmill on the roof
No solar on the shop, but solar heating water panels in the summer!
That is genius
Cool 🎉

Mount the motor on the rack! You don’t want that in the Jeep!
I was thinking that too, I can probably tuck it under the boat so it was out of sight, but easy to get to when the rack was down.
Like a swinging spare tire gate with a mount plate?
Little off subject. I have been wanting a tubing bender for sometime for projects. Did you find a deal on yours or suggestions ? Appreciate the videos

Balancing it so well was an accident, right?
LBG patent #123

You spent 20 minutes talking about the history of your Jeep snd almost no time on how to get the boat on the roof. I want my 20 minutes back.
