Bought a 18 High Country 6.2L didnt like what they did with the next generation very disappointing and the 10 speed absolutely didnt do anything for MPG another let down.
motownautospa why would Lie. I test drove the tundra ford and Chevy highcounty both year 2018 and 2019. Reason why I didn’t buy those trucks 1. the ford crew cab lariat too bouncy and shaky on the street and freeway. I did like the sound system and interior. 2. Tundra the ride was a bit rough and ride was aggressive and horrible sound system. 3. 19 Chevy the ride wasn’t as smooth as the 18. I bought my cousin with me he weighed 220. I had him seat in the passenger seat. In both ride I made him try to shake and wobble the truck as much as he can. The 19 Chevy definitely wobble why more than the 18!

Great review! I am still debating about introducing a truck to my channel and this Chevy is on my short list (I'm a Chevy guy). Looking forward to seeing your next review.
Whatever happened to solid, reliable WORK trucks? I don't want heated / cooled seats, and all the tech. I want to haul. I want to tow. And I don't want to spend a fortune on gimmicks. Knock 15-20K off the price, and give me a simple truck.
Yea trucks are screwed these days. You can get a work model but you usually dont get the needed essentials like power windows, tow hooks, trailer break. You have to go up about 10k to get the needed stuff and then it comes with useless crap. You either get nothing or get everything, thats how they get ya.

Hi Nolan, nice review. Wish I would’ve paid attention to more of these before I drove off in my 2019 RST. I’m incredibly disappointed with the interior features of the truck, so much that I’ve been trying tirelessly to get the dealership to take it back. The DFM and auto start stop features-I’m getting 13.5 city and that’s not with a heavy foot, so what’s the point in all that added crap that’s gonna be an expensive fix later when I don’t feel like it’s saving a penny in gas. How in the heck is there no sunglasses holder??? The scroll on the right of the steering wheel that controls the dash menu options, hit it all the time by accident when turning the wheel, changing my menu when I just want it left on one. I had a 2015 Colorado before this and thought the layout/buttons were just fine. Definitely a step backwards here. So yes, subtle changes on the interior that you don’t realize til your locked in, unless you’ve done your research. I loved my Colorado so it makes sense I would like the new look of the Silverado. I didn’t think I’d actually be losing here...plus I couldn’t afford 4x4 and leather, so basically I have nothing but regrets that I’ll be putting up with for another 45 months.
Like the new Camaro, the new Silverado polarizes the Chevy fan base, especially where the front fascia assemblies are concerned. We love both but then we're biased of course. Great video man - thanks for sharing!
You make some very good points. I’m looking at a 2019 when my lease is up. I don’t want that auto stop start crap. Maybe someone will make one of the OBD II dongles to plug in that will make it stay off.
What I like about the new gm trucks is that the rocker panels are so thin you can push up on it with just finger pressure ? Seen trucks in the northeast rusted out before you can pay for them
I traded my 2016 F-150 Lariat in for LTZ Z71. And all I can say is wow I love my truck compared to my F-150. Small things like when your tailgate is down it tells you that it’s down when your in drive. My Ford didnt do that. I really like the wireless charging as well. Headlights are extremely bright and auto highbeam is really nice as well.
I always know if my tail gate is up or down, because I remember whether or not I opened it or not. My big complaint with Chevy has nothing to do with the higher trim levels as in this review; higher trim levels I know nothing about which is why I don't understand the tail gate complaint. They all compete pretty well up there for the big bucks. On the lower trims though, F150 kills everyone. Even a regular cab short bed, which is a configuration, by the way, that no other manufacturer will even offer once Ram Custom ends production, a customer can choose between a base 3.3L with competitive performance for a base engine and mpg @ 20/25/22 at a competitive base price; or a 2.7L Ecoboost with 400 ft-lb torque at 2750 RPM and best gas-power mpg in a 1/2-ton truck mated to a ten speed for another grand; or a great, updated V8 with 395 hp / 400 ft-lb torque and decent mpg, mated to a ten speed for another grand. Move up to just a long bed XL regular cab up to XLT crew cab long wheel base, and now you have four gas choices in many, many packages. GM is offering 2 choices in the lower trims; both get far worse mpg than before; far worse mpg than the competition with inferior performance (though good capability) for the same starting price. The new Chevy has a new body, but it's further behind overall than before, because of the huge mpg drops with the carryover power trains; and the fact that Ford just built a new base and updated all their other engines for 2017 and 2018 model years; and Ram now offers their base with eTorque standard. GM does nothing for the work truck buyers to make them want a new Chevy.
Gregory Faulkner My tonneau cover fit was tight and my tailgate button wouldn’t drop it. So I wouldn’t know it would be unlocked until I was going down the road and hit a bump and it would come open. My mpg is the same as my eco 3.5 or with .2. I owned a 16 lariat which I loved but my Chevy is on another level compared to that. For example my 16 steering wheel wasn’t a fully wrapped leather and I had 2 replaced because it peeled. I love all trucks( maybe not a tundra) I really liked that Ram and Fords but i just feel in love with this Chevy ltz. At the end of the day I trade my trucks in every 3-5 years so I’m sure I’ll get something else next time .
The one thing that I was most disappointed about or with the newer trucks is a lack of a manual transmission and transfer case. Even if noone buys one its good to know that they are sitting on a shelf in the GM warehouse ready for use or to be ordered. I agree that the interior is more of an update rather than class leading especially for the premium money these trucks are asking for. A new truck should be available in the 16k-19k price range from GM... it's not impossible. Short box, V6, M/T, A/C, P/S, P/B, and a bench...done...16k.
7 million miles of testing?? GM will say anything for sales at this point 1 week of testing reviews are useless. Do a 10yr review and see if it's still around !
A truck with a 6.2 shouldn’t even have the auto start stop. That 6.2 should not even b rated by the EPA for fuel economy because it doesn’t offer it. When u buy a truck with anything bigger than a v-6 or a small v-8 in rare cases, your not buying it to watch gas mileage. Nice job GM, and thank you for stealing our camera system and making a ridiculous attempt at stealing our tow mirrors.
The stop/start feature is a deal breaker for me. The money you save on fuel you will need to invest on premature wear on battery and starter eventhough they say it comes with stronger starter .. Chevy also said they are more reliable that Honda or Toyota hmmm?
I’m with you, can’t stand it! On the Traverse and Blazer there’s not even a switch to shut it off! I saw that commercial...then heard that they took that commercial down lol
Just a word of caution - the new 2019 Silverado-Sierra twins can’t be ordered or does Not come with the power brake and foot pedal adjuster. This is normally a pretty standard option for most trucks (GM, Ram, Ford)...I own a 2017 Silverado, but some “bean counter” within GM axed this very useful feature......why?
It's a good looking truck no doubt, but I will agree with you that the 2018 5.3 V8 is definitely a very nice truck. Looking forward to you doing 2018 F150 Xlt Fx4 5.0 V8.
Good to hear from you James! I got my first ford “press vehicle” and hopefully can get more. It was the F-150 diesel though but I might be able to grab a 5.0 XLT from a dealer. Thanks for watching!
I actually like the looks of the new Silverado. It reminds of some older trucks with subtle sweeping lines. Not much of a Chevy guy (think they have week transmissions, brake-lines, and front ends), but would be willing to look one over and test drive with an Open mind.
Would agree 100%......wanted ram but dealers around me were shady af...so got RST ( for cheap).brake pedal is 2 in closer to driver than gas pedal....so getting comfy with both is difficult....manual telescoping wheel is fine for work truck but c'mon for upper trim....hard to set it at perfect angle...auto start/stop sucks and won't that burn your your starter out?....interior is ok, but not wow....for money these things are selling for they could do better......ram did.........configuration of storage seems odd as well in bench seat.....custom T.B. doesn't even get a storage console, REALLY FOR 40K YOU CANT AFFORD TO GIVE EM STORAGE IN CONSOLE, lol........I just don't like ford trucks so won't comment on them but negatives were spot on with chevy......like my truck but wish I would have done few things different.... Every truck should come with Berliner and rear wheel liners these days as well.....should be factory equipment
The bottom line is that there has never been a better time to buy a pickup if you want/need one. The big three all make a range of vehicles that will serve your purpose. Not everyone needs a complex interior with a huge tablet (which I have read can be balky) like RAM's. Watching them beat the hell out of one another to win another sale has elevated all three. I suspect that GM will make the changes to functionality that are suggested here. Another reason to not buy the first year of anything.
Youre delusional, it the worst time to buy a truck. Trucks are selling around $20k-$30k over the inflation rate. Top truck models should be around $50,000 give or take, instead we got diesels goin for $80k.
With heavy discounts, that's what you should pay. It's true that, like SUVs, the big three have marketed pickups to the general buying public to the point where they want one, whether they really need one or not. That translates to higher costs/profit margins. I liked it better when my K-Blazer was a truck, and not a more expensive aspirational vehicle.
Nothing but a oversized car made with cheap material, REAL trucks haven't been made in years. I'm sick of these cheap made from plastic and aluminum, with some electronics thrown in and costing 10 times what they're worth pieces of crap from all the manufacturers. NO THANKS.
You're joking right? I've been buying trucks since 1971, and the old trucks don't compare to the new ones in power, comfort, handling, mileage, features, safety, and performance. The "good old days" - that's a fantasy from people who never drove the products available in the "good old days."
@@buckhorncortez No it's not a joke, I've had and drove trucks from the "good old days" ranging from '39 to present, and yes the older trucks were tough and reliable and not so expensive to maintain. These modern trucks are grocery getters for females and sissy boys. Enjoy your expensive comfort when it breaks, and it WILL break. LMAO
These new truck he'll lot better those old ass heavy junk slow ass rusted shit he'll if old trucks would make it to 100,000 miles without a rebuild your lucky
Take this from a die-hard Chevy fan since with early 2000s who trades every 2-3 years for a new model; these trucks are hideous. If we're being honest, and objective, they just are. The High Country exterior is ok, but as you can see, the black and brown interior is terrible. Then, any trim below that, that is ALMOST reasonably priced looks cheap and lazy. Not to mention the Trail Boss looks like a bloated work truck trim. All for an absurd sticker of 65k? I traded my 2017 High Country for a 2018 High Country, loaded out with the 6.2, 4wd and factory 22s for 48k and couldn't be happier. This model feels like a step back for Chevrolet. No thanks, GM.
Hey Nolan I went and looked at the new denali I've been talking about. It drove really well but I think I like the feel of the 18 better. Do you know when you might be able to get a hold of a 2019 ram?
That’s awesome, glad to hear you tested them. The soonest would probably be 2 weeks...IF my local dealer agrees because I don’t have access to any FCA fleet yet. I’m out of state until after Christmas, that’s why it might be a couple weeks. What trim you thinking? I’d love to get ahold of one!
@@PrimeAutotainment I think it would be nice to see the limited or laramie just as a comparison to the denali. I know you can definitely get a bigger discount on the rams from what I've heard. I've heard anywhere between 7 to 13k off of the msrp for a brand new one.
@@PrimeAutotainment With or without E torque is fine with me whichever you can get your hands on. I did hear the E torque makes the auto stop start the most seamless though so that would interesting.
I just bought one but I want to know how to turn off the auto start/stop “A” off forever Bc I don’t like when complete stop and the engine turn off. Let me know if you know how. Thanks👍
I just bought a used 2019 LTZ and it has a button to set the “gap” or follow distance but the cruise control is not radar? Then what is the gap button for?
I’m going to buy a new truck and after months of looking and comparing I’m between a 2019 Chevy Silverado LTZ with the 6.2 or a 2019 Ram 1500 Sport. I really can’t decide.
The 2tone seats look great! Muck better than just black, hint, hint , GMC!! I like the sides better on the Chevy, not the front though. Don’t like the running boards
I drove Chevys all my life until the cylinder deactivation crap started. I was constantly fixing my 2001 Silverado and when shopping for a new one my cousin warned me about the cylinder program. He had a bad oil consumption problem due to it and had a total engine replacement by GM. When a second person I knew also had the same problem I decided that was it. I gambled on a Ford F-150 with the 5.0 Coyote V8 and could not be happier!! 22mpg ( video to prove it) running on all 8 cylinders in a 4x4 super crew cab truck. I was surprised to say the least. The Chevy 5.3 is a great engine and the cylinder deactivation is total BS when it’s perfectly capable of decent mpg on all 8. I dunno why some things have to be ruined by making them overly complex. I spent 20 years making Ford jokes while replacing parts on my Silverado....the joke was on me lol 😂
I don't like all the new gimmicks. That's just more to go wrong & given time, they WILL go wrong. May of the new electrical gimmicks are tied together with other electronics & when 1 item fails, it takes out other systems with it. The more complicated they make it, the more problems you WILL have. I have a 2014 LT that works well still at 60k miles & have absolutely no wish for all the new gimmicks. I added the Range device, about a year ago, to defeat the v4 mode & it continues to work flawlessly keeping me in v8 mode. I would prefer to buy a stripped down truck with the options of auto trans, AC & power windows. Only reason I include the power windows is that's it's not possible to roll up or down any window other than drivers window, while driving.
Ron Snyder I know exactly what you mean. Simplicity is great especially with trucks. Great idea killing the V4 mode. I’ve heard of people doing that and I’d personally want to do that too...can’t stand the idea of that cylinder deactivation system ever quitting..especially on these new ‘19s with a more complicated deactivation system. Thanks for the input! 👍
The cylinder deactivation and auto start/ stop alone was enough to keep me from buying this truck. I really like the look of the tail boss. But those 2 things turned me away.
I’m with 100% on that. It’s a shame. I think I’ve heard people say. Out of those things can be permanently disabled but I’m not sure...worth looking in to I guess!
@@PrimeAutotainment I disabled it on my 2013 Sierra. It took a programmer to do it. And they're not cheap. Plus I'm sure that would void your warranty on a new truck.
Yeah but which truck is going to hold up the best. GM has issues with AFM. Ram usually has electrical issues. Ford has many issues. What should a person buy?
Good question! It’s always hard to say. You hear people from each brand saying how many miles they have or how reliable it is, but who really knows on a redesigned vehicle...
Based on this report it seems that GM is trying to catch up with RAM and F Series. I saw nothing earth shacking in the new design. I am certainly not a big fan of the exterior styling either. I would think that they would have done more with such a big redesign of the platform.
I do like how they moved the battery up to where its more accessible from what ive noticed...most of yall with the last generation truck probably know what I'm talking about. I'm kinda hesitant on the quality of the fuel management systems though. My '15 is starting to shudder in 4 cylinder cruising around town up and down hills looking for the best gear/cylinder combo...don't know if this ones better but zapping it to stay in 8 cylinder is pretty tempting.
Use your column shift lever button to keep the truck in 5th gear. That will eliminate the deactivate cylinder mode at all speeds. Have a 2011 I've driven every day in no higher than 5 and has 214000 miles on moter with no oil issues, shudder or gear seeking. Try it
To each their own. I’m not a fan of the cosmetic appearance of this truck. The Ram looks horrible and now the GM trucks look like prissy little city trucks.
Thanks for the input! The GM truck looks took a while to grow on me, still not a big fan but I prefer the look of the Trail Boss / AT4 the most of the GM twins. What do you think is the best looking truck including midsizers?
I'm a Chevy guy for 1 reason. I'm on my 6th Chevy. Not 1 time have they let me down except a dead battery. Thanks to my daughter. I would hate to change because the Rams interior is nicer and have problems down the road and then regret it. I'm not saying it would let me down. But it's a tool to me and does allot more. We tend to have to much envy in the other guy. My neighbor is a Ford guy for the same reason I have.
@@andrue17 one of my buddies got screwed on the air ride. It malfunctioned and they refused to cover it under warranty because the product is not make by ram.
As to your #5 the whole truck is more evolutionary than revolutionary. Most trims still have that rough 8 speed as well. This will not convert anyone to GM.
One of these days I hope GM gets rid of that old school column shifter at least on premium models. Ram and ford already have. But I guess if they can’t do it on an Escalade Silverado has no hope.
I would think they do sometime soon...but idk. Surprised me to see they kept it for all trims too. Like you said, an option on more Premium models would be good
The cable shifter is fail proof. Chrysler has all kinds of trouble with the shifter knob.. it's a truck! Buy a car! Along with the push button start and shutting off the engine at idle. More trouble that will NOT last 300,000 miles..
Max de la Rosa actually most truck buyer really (ON A TRUCK) prefer the column shifter. The Fords are alright with the console shifter, and Dodge Ram really still makes me scratch my head at how UN-TRUCK the dial shifter is on a truck that has always been a truckers truck! For real the dial shifters lame ass Ram!
@@philllsxga.7737 I agree with auto shut-off feature that's junk. But most owners don't keep their vehicles to 300,000 miles, so that logic is flawed. And push button start/ stop has been around for years and I've never heard any issues about that. The same with console mounted shifters. Work trucks I agree with should have the column shifter, but when you're paying close to a hundred thousand dollars for a pick up that has heated and cooled front seats with pretty much every other bell and whistle on it, it is no longer just a truck is a premium vehicle and should have premium shifting abilities.
I went to buy the 2019 Chevy Silverado with the 6.2 and drove off the lot in a 2019 Ram because it kicked the Chevy's butt in every single category when driving and hauling. And I'm a Chevy fanatic! Yes, the Ram even hauled better than the 6.2 GM. Go try for yourself. And, all the other things on the Ram just walked GM's ass.
Owing a 2017 Silverado LTZ Z71, I would like to chime in. I agree, that auto stop/start is baloney. Let me pay a $1,500 gas guzzler tax and leave me alone, EPA. I think the gauges look cheap in the new Silverado, much like you would find on a $1,200 lawn tractor from the Home Cheapo. As for trim levels, you can no longer get a LTZ with the Z71 off road package. And speaking of that Z71 off road package, when I went to do my first oil change on my Silverado with the Z71, I discovered that the so-called "protective shield" for the engine is made out of plastic! Great job GM.
@@PrimeAutotainment That crap came over from Europe, I read the 70% of cars there have it, and the tree huggers are pushing it here to save gas, just think how many starters and solenoids you will be using in place of a few dollars in gas:)
GM needs to realize,, sure nice technology and bells and whistle, but if your dropping over 50, 60 k on one of these, the public want to know that these things will last 15 to 20 yrs...
Give us the 6.2 in any trim. You're really failing here GM All we want is that 6.2 . We don't want all the useless crap that makes it a 60,70,80 grand truck. Gimme a rubber floor, floor shifter and a dirty 6.2 . This weak 5.3 is pathetic.
I agree Ram is doing better with interior, but I’d take the Chevy interior over the ford interior any day. That’s a big reason why I would never consider a ford
@R MH lol. True on most of your comment. As far as fords interior looking cheap that's wrong. I looked at them all and drove before I bought, and the Ford was the last one I looked at, and all I did was sit in it and I said now this is a truck I was amazed at how nice the interior looks and how well put together it is. Just feels like a truck compared to the rest. Way better.
@@PrimeAutotainment I just tried a very small $20.00 1 gal from wal-mart in my F150 and it couldn't even start it. Great for a plug in cell charger and thats about it. 400watt I think but not many amps
GM really makes me mad. I have looked at and driven the Trail Boss and I really liked it. The fact that it has auto start stop and it has that goofy cylinder shut down thing spooked me from buying it. If it did not have those two things I would have paid for the truck right there. The Trail Boss was13 thousand dollars off. It was a really fair price.
tom thorn You can turn off the auto stop start(have to do it upon start up each time), but if you don’t want cylinder deactivation, you have to go Ford or Toyota.
Prime Autotainment my friends made a knocking noise when he used 87 so he only uses 91. That’s very important when buying a truck for me. I really wish more auto reviewers would go over that section in the manual on these new trucks.
Been looking the past 2 days. 1 day at chev and 1 day at ford. And i still don't know what i want. But man chevy is pricey units and lackluster interior. And the v4 to v8 thing i didn't care for
I'm trading in my 2018 f150 they have shit for options they piss me off. The joke of a 4in screen is ridiculous. I spent 46k on a damn truck the 8in screen should be standard.
I have owned at least one model of every version of the Chevy truck since the 67-72 one. I still have my 72 and I wish I had my 89. I still have a 16 but I won’t be looking at this one. Who is designing Chevy front ends? I would love to see what my grandfather would have said about this truck. I wonder how much manure is going in the bed or muddy boots are going in the truck.
Dislike 1. The 2019 was driven onto the ice during a break at a hockey game but the truck stalled out and had to be toed off the ice by a Zamboni!!! LOL I guess they forgot to test the motor!! The video is on youtube if you want to laugh!!
Auto start/stop shouldn’t be a dislike. There’s nothing Chevy can do about that. It’s the law now. Every single manufacturer has to put it on all new vehicles now. Can’t hold it against the truck.
I know and I understand that...my biggest gripe with it was that it’s not as smooth as others and not even as smooth as it is with the 5.3 V8. There’s a legitimate pause before you can go and was really annoying
J M that came straight out of GMs press release. I’m not making it up lol. I even questioned its reliability - as GMs reputation is going down in that department
Wait until Oct/Nov of 2019 to buy 2019. Research carcomplaints to see the issues it may have. Buy at the end of the month. Reap discounts up to 13,500 off sticker.
Sorry to hear that! That sucks, what kind of issues? Even though the testing is done with several different test mules...I have a hard time believing GM in that number too 🙄
GM cuts mad corners everywhere, their 8 speed transmissions are garbage too. A friend of mine has brought his new canyon Denali back 3 times for transmission problems. I told him to can that piece of shit and buy a Ranger
If I am spending 60k for a pickup truck. It has to look and feel like 60k. The outside looks ok but the interior looks the same in all models. I think for this reason Ram and Ford will sell more. Even ram is selling more than Chevy now in some months. Never thought it would happen.
After a week, these are some of the things I like and don't like. What are your favorite or least favorite things?

Great review! I am still debating about introducing a truck to my channel and this Chevy is on my short list (I'm a Chevy guy). Looking forward to seeing your next review.
Thank you very much! That would be sweet and a good idea. Thanks again!
Chevy scored some points with this truck. The tech and design updates are great. I think LTZ is my favorite
Don't forget that this is the first Silverado where the steering wheel is finally centered with the driver's seat.
That is a nice feature I’ve been waiting for Chevy to do that for a long time
What does that even mean. I have a silverado and my steering wheel is in line with the middle of my seat
Its NOT centered with the steering wheel. 😅
Whatever happened to solid, reliable WORK trucks? I don't want heated / cooled seats, and all the tech. I want to haul. I want to tow. And I don't want to spend a fortune on gimmicks. Knock 15-20K off the price, and give me a simple truck.

Well said! They both took me by surprise but of course have grown on me since then! Thank you for watching and commenting 👍
You make some very good points. I’m looking at a 2019 when my lease is up. I don’t want that auto stop start crap. Maybe someone will make one of the OBD II dongles to plug in that will make it stay off.
I would think so. Hopefully because I feel like you do
@@PrimeAutotainment I did see someone has made a bypass for that start stop sytem
Glad to hear that! Hope you continue to enjoy your new Silverado!
Dont like the auto beam because it doesn't work with the fog lights on for some reason
Anthony Macneil that is true but the lights are bright enough without them on
I always know if my tail gate is up or down, because I remember whether or not I opened it or not.
No way. There is no where near the market to be able to sell enough trucks to get the price that low.
7 million miles of testing?? GM will say anything for sales at this point
1 week of testing reviews are useless.
Start/stop on any vehicle is total b.s.
There is usually a plug you can unplug to shut it off permanently. I did on my 2018 F150
There's a button to turn it off
You can buy an insert that plugs into the of the switch that permanently disables it. Also im sure you can have it tuned it out on any model
I love your videos i think you explain very good all cars thanks
Thank you Jorge! I appreciate that!
Nicely done. I'm shopping for a new truck come the end of 2019. Lots to take in.
Comes with dildos
I have a 2019 Silverado LT for sale
GM basically built a truck to answer the 2015 F-150.
I don't like how the seat belt height isn't adjustable on the B-pillar.
If auto start/stop has a button on the dash just jumper the wires together. I did that in my last f150 it shuts it off everytime you start it.
Yeah there is a kit they sell.
That interior is sick! Love it! When I saw ‘ownership review’ I thought maybe you made a new purchase!
Glad to hear it! Haha i know it's kinda deceptive and I might change it, but thanks for watching man!
@@buckhorncortez
No it's not a joke, I've had and drove trucks from the "good old days" ranging from '39 to present, and yes the older trucks were tough and reliable and not so expensive to maintain. These modern trucks are grocery getters for females and sissy boys. Enjoy your expensive comfort when it breaks, and it WILL break. LMAO

Sounds good! I will definitely see what I can do! E Torque system matter to you?
Looking forward to it
@@PrimeAutotainment With or without E torque is fine with me whichever you can get your hands on.

It’s tough! I haven’t spent much time with a Ram so I can’t say much in that. Good luck 👍
Truth.
Major fail on my truck is the non-locking gas door or gas cap! 2019 Silverado
You cant siphon gas out of it anyway.

Yuck.
Why does it look like a Tundra???
It looks like 3 different trucks combined. I see a try for a Ford front end failed, a side look like ram, failed and a rear end like a tundra, failed.
I think it looks like a big Colorado.
The base model 19 ram headlights r just roped off from the tundra
They should change the name to TOY-LET! HAHAHAHAHAHA
Same designer
The cylinder deactivation and auto start/ stop alone was enough to keep me from buying this truck. I really like the look of the tail boss. But those 2 things turned me away.
I’m with 100% on that. It’s a shame. I think I’ve heard people say. Out of those things can be permanently disabled but I’m not sure...worth looking in to I guess!
@@PrimeAutotainment I disabled it on my 2013 Sierra. It took a programmer to do it. And they're not cheap. Plus I'm sure that would void your warranty on a new truck.
You can turn off the auto off with a button press
Up The Creek
I agree, but both are here to stay I’m afraid.I think Ford and Toyota are the only ones that don’t use cylinder deactivation.
The interior is why I started looking at Ram and ended buying a 2019. Very happy with the new Rams !
Glad to hear it! Thanks for watching!
The Toyota Tundra.
Tundra
Based on this report it seems that GM is trying to catch up with RAM and F Series. I saw nothing earth shacking in the new design. I am certainly not a big fan of the exterior styling either. I would think that they would have done more with such a big redesign of the platform.
Review the 2019 ram 1500 limited with the etorque. 🙃
I hope to soon!
Good review.
Is it possible to install rear tail gate from GMC to Silverado?
Try it
That auto stop and start turns me off lol no pun intended. I see why car manufacturers are putting it into their cars but I hate it so much.
Went from a 17 Gmc Slt to a 19 Silverado Lt Truck is quieter and rides better. So far so good.
Ed Hlavaty awesome glad to hear it! 👍
The difference between GMC and Chevrolet is that the GMC is put together with lock washers.
GM has some catching up to do compared to RAM. And I was a Chevy guy for 35 years.
Glad to hear your thoughts Tony! I’ve had a few Chevy guys say similar things on other Silverado videos, Thanks for watching!
Bryan E l agree, my Chevys never let me down either. But I am over 2 years into my 2017 RAM and have no regrets.
They missed on the interior. Outside looks good though. I bought a 2019 Ram, really nice interior.
Yeah it surprised me. Hope you’re enjoying your new Ram! 👍
Good luck with your transmission and air ride if you have it.
Arun the 8 speed in the ram is one of the best on the market right now. The air ride i agree with you though.
@@andrue17 one of my buddies got screwed on the air ride. It malfunctioned and they refused to cover it under warranty because the product is not make by ram.
I didn’t get the air ride.
As to your #5 the whole truck is more evolutionary than revolutionary. Most trims still have that rough 8 speed as well. This will not convert anyone to GM.
The 8 speed is garbage. Makes me hate my 2019 LTZ Z71....😏
One of these days I hope GM gets rid of that old school column shifter at least on premium models. Ram and ford already have. But I guess if they can’t do it on an Escalade Silverado has no hope.
I would think they do sometime soon...but idk. Surprised me to see they kept it for all trims too.
Like you said, an option on more Premium models would be good
I love it there. I save room for 2 extra cup holders that get used daily. Over a dang shifter taking up room
Hope you don't plan on owning that Ram for too long. The Chev will most likely outlast it by a long shot.
Thanks for chipping in! That’s a bummer about the LTZ Z71...I didn’t realize that. Same with the plastic...
What are you, stupid? I have a 2019 LTZ with the Z71 package. So everything you said has no merit. 💯🙈🙉🙊💯

Been looking the past 2 days. 1 day at chev and 1 day at ford. And i still don't know what i want. But man chevy is pricey units and lackluster interior. And the v4 to v8 thing i didn't care for
Buy the Chevy. Fords have aweful reliability

If you don’t want cylinder deactivation,Ford or Toyota are your only options. No sure about Nissan.
I'm trading in my 2018 f150 they have shit for options they piss me off. The joke of a 4in screen is ridiculous. I spent 46k on a damn truck the 8in screen should be standard.
The best truck is the one you borrow from a friend or family member. Lol
Everything Atvs I saw them early. Only color to have is black. I just don’t like the front end. I like the GMC better.
I was in a commercial for this truck
Haha that’s awesome!
Wouldn't admit to that
Daniel Brice lol I wasn’t in one of those, I was a soccer player for the Spanish commercial
Stay far away from GM products....got tired of the junk and switched to America's favorite truck the F-150 and couldn't be happier.
No power pedals on a HC? nor power tilt/telescoping? really
Yep, weird because they had it last year..
Dislike 1. The 2019 was driven onto the ice during a break at a hockey game but the truck stalled out and had to be toed off the ice by a Zamboni!!! LOL I guess they forgot to test the motor!! The video is on youtube if you want to laugh!!
Haha I know I saw that! I was taking video of a ford from a dealership and they had a poster of the new Silverado stalled on the ice lol
I meant to write ALMOST had to be towed. ha
Yeah I hear ya...life would have ended for Chevy if it had to be towed haha. I bet the people driving it were having heart attacks
@@PrimeAutotainment I couldn't stop laughing at it! How could you blow your big moment with a new truck worse than that! ha
@@PrimeAutotainment I couldn't stop thinking about Saturday Night Live when I saw it.
7 million miles of testing, and they have had more recalls and more issues then any other Chevrolet truck in history. Do some research kid.
J M that came straight out of GMs press release. I’m not making it up lol. I even questioned its reliability - as GMs reputation is going down in that department
Dislike 3 please tell me you can tern it off
Yes you can, but always defaults to being in each time you start the truck
Wait until Oct/Nov of 2019 to buy 2019.
Research carcomplaints to see the issues it may have. Buy at the end of the month. Reap discounts up to 13,500 off sticker.
7,000,000 miles of real testing my ass. My Trail Boss has issues that a teenager would have picked up on.
Sorry to hear that! That sucks, what kind of issues? Even though the testing is done with several different test mules...I have a hard time believing GM in that number too 🙄
eventually, theres gonna be a delete for an auto start stop... and AFM
I hope so
Leatherkid01
Both can be defeated, but the afm takes more doing.
GM cuts mad corners everywhere, their 8 speed transmissions are garbage too. A friend of mine has brought his new canyon Denali back 3 times for transmission problems. I told him to can that piece of shit and buy a Ranger
The cgi silverado looks a thousand times better than the real one
I wouldn't trade it for my 2015 in my opinion it's one of the best models.
If I am spending 60k for a pickup truck. It has to look and feel like 60k. The outside looks ok but the interior looks the same in all models. I think for this reason Ram and Ford will sell more. Even ram is selling more than Chevy now in some months. Never thought it would happen.
I know what you mean! That’s wild, I haven’t seen any recent sales figures but I believe it.
No adjustable pedals and the fancy turn signals on the mirror
I started cracking up laughing when i saw gmc tailgate. Awesome truck though!
Dallas Time Bandits tail gate on the GMC is sooo heavy .. unlike the Silverado better for everyday
