Our mental health systems suck, moving the goal post from the source of the problem will only make things worse. There's a difference between social media being a societal Ill and burnt-out 2 income couples sticking their kids infront of an iPad with youtube autoplay instead of actually raising them. It's crazy that things like that can happen, and older generations still have the audacity to wonder why we stopped having kids.
It's not just teenagers it's adults too. I mean adjusting to the pandemic that was a life changer right there. Then we jumped right into the uncertainty with the economy and the cost of living. Who isn't dealing with depression?

I too started out as a child. My feeling is the pandemic had a harmful effect on teenagers because they couldn't socialize with their peers. That's an important part of growing up. Add to that social media which is extremely unsocial and there's going to be a problem. The only thing I can suggest is put down the phone. Get out and play a sport vigorously, if you're not into that jog, get into nature whether it's a park a forest an ocean or a lake. Read a book and let your head clear.
It wasn't the pandemic , the pandemic was no threat to young healthy people. It was the absurd over the top reaction by the lying, hypocritical leaders who ruin our lives and the people who believe them like the gullible, brainwashed idiots they are..🤦♂️
You make a great point about the impact of the pandemic on teenagers' social lives. It's crucial for their development. Your suggestions are spot on - putting down the phone, being active, connecting with nature, and reading can make a world of difference.
I had ISSUES back when I was a teen. I met someone who understood me, and as a result, we became parents. Kept me out of SERIOUS TROUBLE. Trust me.

Yes, it was. Those decades were heaven compared to today
In a few senses yes because in those decades single income households were feasible and everything was very affordable because many industries haven’t consolidated and not even an eighth of the practices Wall Street does today were legal. The late 1970s 1980s is when things went south with Ronald Reagan who came in during the midst of stagflation set upon us by being car dependent, and Reagan went on a cutthroat deregulation spree that resulted in crushing job and pay cuts. All of this led to productivity rising but our wages not.
But please don’t get this twisted…. But if you were not white, not straight, not conforming to gender norms, or not able bodied, the 60s, 70s, and 80s were much worse than today. From segregation to widespread societal condemnation to legalized discrimination, things are a bit better for marginalized people today.
What’s kinda scary about the second paragraph to think about is that the Civil Rights Act led to support in white America for privatization which ultimately led to Reagan.
I was born in 2001 so I never got to experience those decades, but I did get to learn a lot about what the times were really like from the 50s until the early 2000s and I am better off today than I would have been in the 1980s. But I sure would have been much happier if I lived in the 22nd or 23rd centuries instead of the 21st.
I wonder if there is overlap with the 20% of children living in housing, food insecurity or poverty.

Take your kids out of school and teach your own kid
So many children and their mothers are on psychiatric drugs. Does that ever get studied? Or how about the constant fear over the last 3 years??? I know adults that still haven’t come out of the house. I’m glad that at least Dr DPinskey has wondered about all the fear the public was exposed to to get them to comply. Sad times!
The science is out!!! Running cures all this!! The nation should be running 🏃♂️. "Professionals" aren't promoting running and getting off social media. Just look at how many Professionals are on social media knowing the damage it does. All there advice holds no truth if they're addicted. They are planting the seed.

Yeah. A lot of kids were stuck with abusive parents during the pandemic, or parents who just didn’t care to understand how their children felt, or who took out their financial frustrations on their kids.
Bad parents most definitely create very mentally Ill children and then they get surprised when their child get hospitalized. It is such a strain on the system. It’s not fair to the children. The kids didn’t choose to be born. Not to mention they truly are stuck. The foster care system is just a cover up for trafficking and abuse.
America HAS a problem. Gen Z loses so many left and right, it’s a normalcy to see posts of people who have lost YOUNG loved ones or peers by SUICIDE.
Exactly. Not saying there aren't any bad actors in the public school system. But the system isn't designed to deal with mental health issues. That's for the parents to manage. Unfortunately it's the parents who create mental health problems in their children by not wanting to parent or not knowing how to. Many people just have no business procreating because they don't know what they're doing. But they do it anyway and now it's the school and wider society's problem.
Which is WHY we need to keep the worst weapons of war from them. An age limit of 25 and above for assault rifles could help, here.

I never had any issues with mental health when i was 13 back in 2001. Depression started to mess me up at the age of 28 or 29 until now at 34. This is the definition of I Have No Mouth, And I Must Scream. Good thing i have Genshin, Pizza, Coke and soon Honkai Star Rail and a Rog 7 Pro!

The issue is that we live in neighborhoods that are designed to isolate and our third places are disappearing because they are not nearly as profitable for equity companies as our labor is. We are being worked more hours and are getting paid less.
In the case of teens, most of their parents aren’t making enough to buy them a car for their sweet 16, and both their parents are working which means not a lot of time to drive around with a permit. Cars are so expensive nowadays that the rite of passage of getting a first car is something only wealthier families can enjoy. This has been the main contributor to the collapse of teen social infrastructure in the U.S.
What’s sad is that for many of us, our youth is being wasted by living in a country where enjoying youth is becoming something only the rich and powerful enjoy again, just like it was before the surge in unions in the early 20th century and the related strikes. While this has horribly impacted Gen Z, this will impact Gen Alpha much more acutely as state legislatures (the red ones to be exact) are aggressively rolling back child labor laws in order to get kids to work faster.
We need to act fast if we want to fix things. I think we ought to look at what workers did in the early 20th century to fix our problems. We also need to think about doing something a lot different in terms of urban planning than what we are doing right now.
FINALLY SOMEONE ELSE SAYS IT. I am one of those kids who had to see my high middle class to higher class peers get cars, get the simple luxuries of hanging out with friends, going on trips, being able to afford extracurriculars and field trips, etc.
These people don’t realize the economic divide ISOLATES low income teenagers severely.
I am one of those teenagers.
I am a low income teenager living in a tiny apartment, with two other siblings. I have nothing. I’ve got …what? A small twin bed? That’s all I’ve got to show. That’s the amount of space I’m allowed to take.
My mother is a single mother, very mentally ill, so I as the eldest have been left to hold up the fort while she works.
I spend my days inside a tiny apartment with no privacy, caring for and raising two younger brothers, wishing I could be free to go outside, as my mother forbids me from stepping outside due to us living in an area of our rather well off city…that’s in one of the “ghetto” places where low income and immigrants are squashed together, so as to not be an eyesore to the rest of the city.
People here do drugs, litter, drink, etc.
I’m pretty much stuck with no future right now. Thank you for advocating for us.

Not only America, teens are being destroyed by social media and the lack of care by their parents. As a father, you must understand why you work and for who. That means every week you have 3 times conversations with your children. Each time an hour or so. telling them what is wrong or right. Not to smoke, not to drink, not to take any drugs. Asking your children what bothers them so you know what can help them. As for a mother, I don't have to repeat myself but just mention the 9 month you had that child in you. Do you want that child to be a smoker, an alcoholic, a drug addict or being killed from gang or other violent groups he/she might get in. When I speak like this, I wonder if THAT father actually does exist? Greedy governments world wide make money from cigarettes or alcohol and I am sure top very important people use drugs too. The society that started after world war 2, will not last for another 20 years before it falls apart. Yeah, that is what we have created.
You made the fundmental mistake of thinking that the father has a choice, when it's always the mother in absolute control of the children.
@@DistrustHumans Well, mothers have more responsibilities BUT what society we have created, mothers and fathers are working so much that both lack in time to spend with their children. Right now my neighbours are in their late 30s and have 2 children. One 3 years and one just few months. They are both working hard to pay rent for the house. Their children are getting looked after by a woman from another country who can't speak English much. We have build a society where 2 people have to work to be able to pay the stupid bills. Having a house is not luxury, it's important to live. I'm telling you, we are doomed, we just don't see it because what is happening to society is like slowly, dot by dot, step by step. Look at Japan, they're lost.

Easier said than done. EVERYTHING is done on computers these days. Most schools have all of their books online now. Even athletics today make HEAVY use of video recordings, computer analysis/tracking, etc.
I was a teenager in the nineties at 14 my brother was murdered I’ve been kidnapped shot in the head different day and served 4 years in juvenile prison and never developed any mental illness I was and I’m still happy so how’s is a little lockdown going to harm minds??

@@dirk1998 I probably would have issues but I’m so passionate about things in life I’m like a gear head I can talk about cars work and research about cars all day I attended university on Automobile specialists I love working I love learning about all kinds of stuff geography history aerospace science aircrafts animals ect.. if I don’t learn something everyday then yeah maybe I would have problems because when my internet goes out and I’m not able to get a book or anything to feed my curiosity I don’t feel too good my brother is the same way but he loves fitness and my dad loves music I wonder if that’s normal?

I used to tell people 85% of the people in the United Has mental illness 20% that doesn't even reach the mark I would say more like 40% because you know when I was a Foster The classic adults in the government Not a man mostly cause I found a headpsychological A lot of women lose their parents parents needs to take Have Lisa and I dare it what it is to be a parent The kids can have trouble that need to go to therapy and the parents don't seem to see it I'll get it they don't know that the kids are pulling out the hair cutting themselves in their private parts drinking doing drugs they have no clue what their children are doing because what you have with children is 2 kinds of children you have one spade a studeit's very stupid minds the parents do everything that's supposed to do then that same child will go to school around the friends change the clothes and be a totally different person to make up on and be different So imagine yourself have to grow up being 2 people in a world and one body that right there is a probama when you work for people in their homes it's sad to see how they're raised most of them are verbally abused every single day of their life someone have psychological abuse by their parents and the parents don't even understand they're just going that child Life and when you have a child that's in pain 247 you got a phone because what happens with that child is horrible I'm the thing that I know for a fact when I had my young adult girls they went to therapy 3 days a week and it took me 3 months and you wouldn't recognize those kids today the unbelievable human beings you never know they had a problem But most parents never see that problem and when you're working at home they don't see it and let me tell you something else if somebody tells you just imagine this is my home this is my money it's gonna be my way that sounds like somebody that loves you somebody respects you somebody that even likes you now if you hear this every day 365 days a year that's pretty tough that doesn't say I care we're gonna do this together this is our home we're family we're all one we work together in the song no Just the opposite😮😢

I am never more grateful for my Catholic education than when I see what public school kids have to deal with. No where in these clips do you hear about any religious teachings these kids follow. There's no discipline or structure. It's devastating to see how lost they are.
Well, you are one of the lucky ones because for many children across the world, a Catholic education and/or a Catholic upbringing is the very thing that put them into contact with prolific child predators. The child molestation that occurred in the Catholic Church was, by no means, isolated. It was organized, systemic child molestation that occurred in the Catholic Churches across the entire world.

And looking at the state of things in the public school system they are severely lacking it. Those kids don't have steady discipline. Their fathers aren't present in the household. A slew of issues.

Catholic values, on the other hand, stick with you your entire life. Sports don't encourage the presence of fathers in a home, for example, whereas the Catholic church truly recognizes the importance of this.
