When you say professional human, how do therapists get that label? They read analysis of human behaviour done before their time. They come up with categories to classify human behaviour and then choose methods which in the past have worked upon other humans.
This methodology is great for physiological issues since majority of humans have similar biology. But for psychological issues, where each and every individual is distinctly different from another, how can categories be created!? How can anyone tell me what's the correct way to handle a situation when that situation is completely unique to my psyche?
The only person who can tell me is myself. Connecting with my own self is the best form of therapy. No need for any so called "professional". If someone is "helping" me connect with myself, I've got to be one of the most lazy person in the world. Or rich and stupid enough to go for therapy.

Finally a video where i can share my thoughts.
I believe that our ancestors were always into meditation, well being and spirituality which prevented them from all these mental issues and illnesses. Believe it or not, meditation and being spiritual are really magical.
Today people are so impatient that they want instant results while doing these things. And when that obviously doesn't happen, they do baseless criticism of our practices.
However modern or advanced the westerns maybe, but it's a bitter truth that their social and personal life is fjked up and their mental health is in the gutters. And because of all these movies ,TV shows and toxic celebrities that glorify that life, our citizens, especially kids are slowly diverting to that path.

You have no idea how bad mental situation is in the US. I say this after spending a decade there. We are nowhere even close. Many factors contribute to that - stable family structures, active community/social lives (relatives, friends), body/money not the only tangible objective in life, deep faith in God/higher power, etc, and a lot such teachings come from our scriptures, traditions and it keeps us grounded (which the West misses). And yes, yoga, meditation is the next level. So I believe, even if we stick to our basics while adapting to the ever changing world, we'll be OK. I am not sure if people realise how spirituality, meditation translates into our daily lives in India.
    1. Daily pujas at home , chanting of prayers, bhajans, lighting of diyas and agarbattis are all forms of meditation and spirituality.
    2. The festivals we celebrate are all community and family oriented. We meet , gossip, bitch , fight, love, hug and get it out of our systems. That's therapy . Even customs around small festivals based on weather bring human beings together to share and get a break from their routines. Check for festivals other than Dussehra or Diwali across different states of the country.
    3. Rituals surrounding births and deaths are hugely cathartic. Brings the whole clan together. And even if there are undercurrents of conflict in these situations, one always finds a soulmate to connect to.
If we actually follow even 50% of our ancient culture, one wouldn't need mental health coaches or therapists.
We should stop living in silos in the modern age.

In india mental issue were also handled in spiritual ways in past , certain rituals to cleanse the aura especially the elders of family performed on the person , also local astrology also had solutions depending on conditions like they give individual mantra to chant , rituals and some rituals related to moon help in those who have sleep problems, when i went through anxiety & insomnia i was advised by astrologer to do shiva aradhane and watch moon / go in moonlight every night for few mins . This helped me a lot along with pranayama. Later i came to know moon had effects on one’s mind especially women ( as their menstrual cycle was connected to that of moon - 28 day ) . My mom- in - law went through severe mental conditions during menopause and local vaidya ( no medical degree) cured her completely after she went through a psychiatric treatment which kept her under control when under medication. He managed to get her well within a month - he accurately diagnosed her case as sootaka vyadi ( menopausal sickness) while psychiatric never even considered this angle . So we dont have to underestimate indian methods to tackle the issue without even identifying it as mental illness.

No, mental health food among people with stability in life. Normally westernized Indians and poor slum dwellers have mental health issue. Indians are only ones who discuss mental health properly, and invented spirituality and meditation. For lower class people, they will always say oh it is not discussed, but in reality lower class people copy everything from western culture and then "meh why it isn't discussed lol"

I once contacted a therapist on the app and it took him just 10 minutes to conclude that I am suffering from depression and he gave me a list of medicines to buy. and they were really expensive even though I am middle class. It has turned into a big business in the west and I agree that many even in India have the same issue during adulthood but most people chose spirituality over these medicines that are just a huge business and we know about it.

The main set back is that the Christianity is based on forced belief system, which doesn't encourage people to think and apply their mind to life problems. there is a conflict growing in the minds of people causing mental ailments. the religion doesn't give any room for personal experiences of individuals, but it forces people only to believe which some one had written for them to believe. materialistic affluence encouraged by the religion could not provide answers to life problems leading to need for therapies of every kind. people could not find answers to their problems as the religion doesn't give them freedom to express their mind. the minds were made to become bonsai tree towards life problems. people were made to think only for material world but not for spiritual world. they have to to look towards India in this regard for help and solutions.

Work hard to the point of becoming miserable to achieve & be successful. Look at David Goggins. Is he joyful? Joyful existence is not there. Being in love with oneself is not there. One is coached that you are incomplete without these things, and people are miserable. Being kind is taken to be a great virtue but here in India being kind is essential part of our being. Say "thank you for every morsel anyone does for you. Here saying "thank you" used to be taken as an insult (now changing). Act grateful towards who do stuff for you, but they are doing their duty. You do not have to be thankful to your parents for what they did was their duty, now its your turn to do your duty as a child.

For an example I got shocked when I saw Selena Gomez recently, she looks completely different and I dont understand why people there are not comfortable with their own skin. Its their choice but a big question is there, why do they feel that much insecure. Disturbing

One of the reasons for Indians not being so active in taking therapy unlike west is economic conditions. A single session costs minimum like INR 500 for an hour. The masses still cannot afford that much. This is the reason that people who even consider therapy take 1-2 sessions but cannot continue due to this constraint.

Sad that always always it’s said that we are not an open society to human emotional problems being real or have an open minded approach towards the emotional disorders but it’s actually not true…..I do agree yes it comes across that way but it’s bit more complicated then that ….I mean because ours is the only culture which has worked and actually developed full fledge systems for human being upliftment and because we understand the importance of little little things/actions/living/non living…the age old knowledge is way deep about everything and nothing is taken for granted ….for every aspect of human life is taken with utmost care…a culture with rituals from human being taking birth to rituals for its death….this is not accurate that we don’t acknowledge the human pain and hence not open to emotional stuck ups or mental issues of a human…..it’s layered, here it’s simple if you disrespect the cosmos it disrespects you too…..mental illness are actually seen with lot of empathy but if one is talking about emotional trauma caused due to lack of a civilised social culture among the people of a society, that’s different…..a child either born with mental illness or developing one as he/she grows is completely different from a person developed mental illness due to traumatic event like sexual abuse/domestic violence/rape/witnessing sudden death etc, the latter one is majorly social problem due to lack of basic human consciousness……it is because we have tools like yoga/meditation/ayurveda/activities like saat sang (Bhakti) etc one is expected to take help of these, yes of course we don’t see this on the surface but again that’s due to people not practising these tools due to the colonial mindset which led to a colonial life style where everything western is fancy…..we are not at all bad for people with huge population and multidimensional society with complex structure, we are trying our best.
