    LOL. Every time you paint and your compressor comes on I keep thinking it's mine.
    Great videos by the way keep them coming.

    That's coming along nicely. It's not often people do pilot or crew figures in an aeroplane model. It makes for a refreshing touch to remind us that people flew these aeroplanes. My uncle Bob flew Typhoons, Tempests and did a stint in Hunters before he retired.

      @@TheModelGuy Actually I only met him twice, first time I was to young. The second time was when we were emigrating to Australia. Unfortunately that was 52years ago and the information he gave me has been lost over time. I accidentally stumbled upon a picture when I researching and Australian typhoon pilot. There were three pilots in the picture and one was my uncle. It was taken at B12 in France but where that was I didn't find out.

    Absolutely love this style and the longer videos, agree with another viewer that it's like a 1-1 tutorial, please continue like that (when possible) - one idea would be to do a project in this way and then after it's all done, create an additional "shortened" video by sampling from the longer ones, as a summary (but with all the essentials included), so that viewers who don't like the longer videos can skip them and just watch the "summary" video (which can be a bit longish by itself, say, 30 mins or 45 mins, for such a complex project, less for smaller builds).
    I also love your additional comments about the real aircraft history and usage etc., I wish you had even more of that in your videos, makes the whole experience much more interesting than just the build. Cheers!

    Surprisingly the Typhoon & Tempest shared few (if any) major components, they just looked similar.
    A lot of the photo-etch is a waste on the interior, as once closed up - the cockpit is quite a black hole.

    • @TheModelGuy
      @TheModelGuy  3 года назад +2

      The wings, tail, and longer nose are the most visible differences.

      @@TheModelGuy true, but having worked for Hawkers (BAE Systems), you get to know about common parts - Harrier I's used drawings for parts that where first issued for the Typhoon.

    Awesome! I’m currently working on an Eduard F6F-3 Hellcat and I don’t know if this is a regular feature but instead of tabs the wings and tail plug in to the fuselage at the cross-section. Makes for a really sturdy join and even in 1/72 it feels solid and able to be handled. I’m still a Tamiya snob but I think I’ll pick up a few weekend edition kits in the future.

      They're nice bargains especially at the price point. My only real complaint with this kit is the lower wing fit.

    I like the new style but don’t want it to completely replace the old style of your videos. A good mixture of both would be perfect. Model is coming along well, for more tips and tricks for painting figures I’d recommend checking out some miniature painting RUclipsrs, I also found night shifts videos about them particularly good, he also is pretty new to it, and is painting scale models rather then fantasy or sci-fi miniatures.

      I'm revisiting the Eduard Mustang that melted last year, then my first kit review sent by a manufacturer. ICM sent me their JU-88C night fighter. After that, not entirely sure. I know I said Spit vs Spit but we're getting closed to show time in October. So maybe I'll finish the B-17 or so something completely out of my wheelhouse...like an SU-34 :)

    Hi Robbie, I rather like this longer style of video, but then again if the right person is doing it I could watch paint dry, Maybe you could for every longer video do a couple/three shorter ones. the Tempest really is taking shape.

      Thanks for your feedback. I'm trying to track the comments and analytics to see what the mass wants :). Doing a single video edit takes about 2-3 nights and consists of about 100-150 video clips to edit. This style allows me to put them together and render. Takes 2-3 hours.
