I don't have RH but based on your vids, it seems as if this world has the best build/buy objects out of any DLC but ironically, the worst, least inspired builds. It strikes me as sad, because it's like the team who built the lots completely squandered all the hard work of the asset team. The objects look so lovingly detailed and pitch-perfect, but the lots come across as people who either didn't like or didn't get art deco at all and were like, "Whatever. Is it payday yet? Gimme my paycheck."
Yes well said!! Like I genuinely think the world is beautiful, and even some of the builds are nice, however it’s like they just gave up half way through. Houses are one thing, but a community lot as lazily made as this one is really sad. 😭😭
I love roaring heights as a world so much, but sadly the builds just make it unplayable for me... I really don't want to replace every single lot every time i want to play in it
I think for the shelves that EA was pretending to make it look like the burled wood popular in the time period , but made the worst choice possible. Half of Roaring Heights looks like some who loved the 1920s put a lot of thought into it while looking at magazines from the time. The other half looks like people didn’t care as long as they could pretend that they were making the world look like a bustling 1920s city, as the library and museum both show.
I looked it up and that makes a lot of sense!! I just wished they chose a different color. And exactly!! Some of the lots in the world are really nice. I just wished they took their time with the other ones. 😭😭
I'm back. I just recently bought Roaring Heights and tried tackling the library. I didn't limit myself to just the base game and Roaring Heights though. I reduced the parking garage by half and put two Savvy Seller shops at the garage level - a jewelry and collectibles store (with the artisan forge and gem cutting machine a back room) and a pet store. I renovated the first two levels of the library and decided if I made it any bigger it would always look empty. I dropped some cones and a construction sign at the base of the stairs to the 3rd level, then on the 4th level I moved all the furniture it the corners and set up homeless encampments in the study room and "town hall" room. I really wish we could make lots multi-use, so we could put some apartments or something above commercial lots. Sims can still make their way to the top floors, but they seem less likely to go there on their own. Before I moved everything into a corner, making the desks inaccessible to sit at, my sim would still go up there to do her homework. Now she stays in the renovated part.
When some sims are done with a book they will walk to the nearest surface/table that has room, so you might want a table close to everywhere there are chairs and bookshelves.
Almost all of the EA libraries are horrible. They're not made for sims. People come in and leave the kids on the first floor and all of the toys are on the upper floors. No potty chairs, or even changing tables either. I do a lot of editing to libraries.
CJ, you’ve got mad productivity! I’ve been addicted to your vids and streams lately and I feel so blessed to find you on RUclips/Twitch as there are very few people with such admiration and dedication for what they are doing in media. Your boost in growth of this channel is so inspiring and deserved. Go king!❤
Do you think they just gave up? like a bunch of the development team had moved on to the sims 4? or maybe a bunch of work went into building the boardwalk and rollercoaster for this world and then the buildings were of lesser importance?
I think they just gave up and wanted to move on to The Sims 4. It’s interesting how you have to buy The Boardwalk separately, like why didn’t it just come with the Gold Edition of the world? The Gold Edition literally comes with Boardwalk Attire. It’s very confusing. 😅😅
CJ I just discovered your channel a few days ago and I already had a marathon of your videos! You have such a lovable personality and I can really see how much you love the sims 3, you actually made me want to play again 😂❤. Keep up with the amazing content 🫶🏻.
Nah, whoever did this just DGAF or they hired Stevie Wonder for the day. I understand not having a lot of objects, but that doesn't excuse the lousy color coordination, poorly lit bathrooms and weird wood patterns being applied to everything. I think that's why they had the debug lights as well. Just easier to spam them than put some thought into lights. 🤣
That’s what I’m saying, and seeing as how this was the last world they made, I’m sure someone on the team knew how to build a smaller and properly furnished library. 😭😭
The first time I saw the library in Roaring Heights I was really torn. First the shell on it is really a pain during gameplay, seriously. But I tend to go in and add skill building items to my libraries and so the empty spaces in the library was great for that. On the other hand... look at it. Yeah. I think I ended up just leaving it alone and putting my own "community lot" in another space and just not using it. I don't like deleting the lots they put unless I have to but I don't have to use them either.
How do you delete the top shell on these buildings? I wanted to live in one of the apartments in roaring heights but the top shell makes it hard to see. Keeps blocking my camera view

yo. the old people gonna riot at all those stairs they gonna have to walk up to get to the town hall room. I'm rollin' (nice job per usual)

😱 They should be ashamed of themselves not only for those janky top pieces that annoy the crap out of me but that LIBRARY!!! Beyond yikes.
Absolutely love the renovation. Great job!
Thank you so much!! It took awhile, but I’m so pleased with the end result!! 😎💯

@@CjplaysYT they started to practice early on for Sims 4 Kits... 😉😆

Cjplays,
In EA’s defense, they have to worry about frame rate, so that might be one of the reasons it’s so empty. It’s a pretty big lot after all.
I felt like there was a way to make the build smaller, and properly furnished without sacrificing frame rate.

Cjplays,
You really should do more community lot speed builds and renovations
I plan to start doing more!!
I would LOVE if you did a renovating roaring heights series or built some better houses for there!!

That was the saddest looking library I've ever seen! You made it so much better.
Ykw, i think its just so the lots load smoother. Roaring Heights is pretty big. Aesthetics are crazy though, i give them that.
Oh yeah the world is beautiful!! I just wished they took their time to make this lot look better.
Wow you completely transformed it! I've just found my new favorite sims youtuber :-) ✨
I love watching your videos! It’s so fun seeing you review these builds and I’ve even learned a few ideas when it comes to decorating from you! ✨❤️🌸
Don't forget, even if technology wasn't a part of this time, some sims have laptops.
I love RH much... But it definitely needs help

What a massive building
I loved this world the most but GOD they didn’t even try
Funny video :) "Sims 4 is coming out, they just don't care"
do u like sims 4 also, and have u tried downloading custom content for sims? its addicting... be prepared to clean ur computer lol
And yet, it's better than Sims 4's best, lol.
