I'd be curious to see your take on the sequels, or even some of the TV shows. There are so many characters, scenes and dialogues that just beg to be parodied/memed (or whatever you call this).

Seriously why didn't Yoda ever learn to speak properly after so many years? And why doesn't anyone ever question it? His ass backwards way of speaking makes communication very inefficient.

The real reason is probably George Lucas thought it would be cool.
My head canon explanation is that he's 900 years old, so he grew up in a time when that was just how people spoke, the star wars equivalent of Shakespearean "thou art" dialect.
It wasn't so prominent in the OT. It's as if GL decided it was something that should be leaned into for the PT.
I know at least two versions.
1 - he does it intentionally, I mean, he can speak normally, but chooses to speak the way he speaks so people have to listen carefully and think more about what he speaks.
2. Because of Yodas master, I think it was in Legends, I don't remember already. There was some weird alien master and he spoke like that, he wasn't even humanoid, I guess his speech pattern wasn't intentional, he couldn't speak normally. So Yoda decided to remember his master this way.
Yaddle, same species as Yoda, speaks normally, so his speech pattern isn't in his biology.

Yoda casually knowing 39 languages got me.
If they're changing anything like our own languages, probably almost 30 of them are so outdated to the point of where they can't recognized by the up-to-date speakers.
I give him the benefit of a doubt and assume at least 9 of them he has knowledge no older than 100 years.
Master Yogurt? Oh well, shall I call everyone to mind that in fact that in "The Empire Strikes Back" he actually DID know how to speak English correctly, and only did the backwards thing as a front in his test of Luke when they first met? Funny how he then spoke perfect English after that. And in ROTJ as well.
But then, in TPM, they had to make it like he'd had some brain injury or something in an alternate universe, and had him doing the backwards English again. And, of course, nobody remembers that Yoda spoke perfect English because, well, we are either too young and didn't see the originals, or we all have injuries to the memory centers of our own brains.
Technically anakin should know how to speak dutch since vader literally means father and the force(george lucas) gave him a name in that language for a reason

The second sentence Yoda said in German is actually correct, because you can change the sentence structure a lot to empathize certain parts of a sentence in German.
