Hello guys, welcome back! back on ARK again today, the new update has dropped and I'm super excited about the new vault changes. It allows us solo players to have a vault inside of our hidden bases, In this video I go over a compact 2x1 base build that includes a smithy, forge, frabricator and a vault! Hopefully being able to build a vault inside of our small hidden bases will help us to remain hidden and safe against the annoying alpha tribes.

About Ark: Survival Evolved:

Pets, which can continue to level-up and consume food, can also carry Inventory and Equipment such as Armor, carry prey back to your settlement depending on their strength, and larger pets can be ridden and directly controlled! Fly a Pterodactyl over the snow-capped mountains, lift allies over enemy walls, race through the jungle with a pack of Raptors, tromp through an enemy base along a gigantic brontosaurus, or chase down prey on the back of a raging T-Rex! Take part in a dynamic ecosystem life-cycle with its own predator & prey hierarchies, where you are just one creature among many species struggling for dominance and survival. Pets can also be mated with the opposite gender, to selectively breed successive generations using a trait system based on recombinant genetic inheritance. This process includes both egg-based incubation and mammalian gestation lifecycles! Or put more simply, breed & raise Dino Babies!

I love this design and I've built 3 bases with it so far. I have a few comments though:
First, you can also fit a preserving bin in front of the smithy over half of your bed. If you use a single-wide door, you won't be able to get in and out, though, so you either need to move the door to the side, or use a double door.
Second, the bed is close enough to the door that someone can hold E and "lay on bed" to get inside. They won't be able to get out without dying or destroying a wall but they could dump everything in your smithy/fab/forge onto the ground. Make sure to keep everything locked in the vault.
Finally, the fabricator can and will get hit by wild dinos on the top. I've had 2 destroyed this way, first by a crab and at another base by a baryonyx. When this happens, you have to destroy your vault, built a new fab and drop a new vault! Its a huge pain and resource intensive. One easy solution is to build a foundation nearby, raise it by 2 (using the raising/lower tricks involving pillars) and then build a wall up and ceilings across. You'll have a second ceiling slightly above the old ceiling (its about 2 edge widths higher). This is sufficient to protect the fabricator without making the whole structure much bigger.
Yo guys, new vault changes are live! its amazing for solo players, allows us to still remain hidden in small bases, but now we have the added protection of a vault! :)

A few people have commented that you are able to pike the fabricator through the roof of this (pretty terrific) design. I was able to circumvent the problem in two ways, one considerably simpler than the other:
First, you can simply stick two sloped ceilings (along with two sloped and two regular walls) on top of the whole thing. After they're in place, I was no longer able to reach the fab with the pike. Also, you're no longer able to see the fab at all from the outside. Disadvantage is, of couse, that you add another half of a story to your profile, possibly decreasing concealment.
A second, more elegant (but more complicated) method is to lower the level of the ceiling on which the fabricator sits by two snap points. To do so, use the usual foundation lwering method: After you lay your two foundations, stick a pillar in the middle of the one opposite from where your doorframe will be. Use that pillar to snap a third foundation adjacent to it, but lowered by one snap point. Now stick another pillar into that new foundation (making sure that it is at the lower snap point) and use it to snap a fourth foundation, another snap point lower and adjacent to your doorframe foundation.
You can now snap a temporary wall and ceiling over that fourth foundation, two snap points lower than the main foundation level. If you snap the hatchframe on which you're going to place the fab to that ceiling, it will still be supported by the walls which you build at the normal level after you've demolished the temporary foundations, wall, and ceiling. It will also lower the fabricator by enough that you will no longer be able to pike it through tthe ceilings placed at the main snap height on top (although, alas, the very highest part of iit will still be slightly visible from outside, letting people know it's there.)
Complications are: You'll absolutely have to place your beds before placing the (lowered) hatchframe; it's not possible to place beds under a ceiling lowered in this manner. Same goes for the door(s): The lowered ceiling won't block the doorframe, itself, but it will block the doors from placing, so you have to put it in afterward. Finally, you'll always have to crouch inside and when entering the base. This may complicate respawning, and you might have to wait a bit and spam the crouch button before you fall to the ground when waking up on the beds.
Hope all that might help somebody, and many thanks again for a great design.
This is a really solid vid man! Very good little build, only problem being if it does get found you only have 1 door to most of your stuff, other than that it's an awesome build and I can see alot of subs coming your way 😉

Yep, few tribes will waste c4 on a 2x1 vault base.
I really liked how you listed the build requirements. So many youtubers just start building, but many just want to make sure they have everything without having to stop midway through to farm.

Nice. Love those small builds. I think you'd be able to have a generator under the vault, then a single vertical cable and an outlet. If it works, you've got a very protected genny, and turret defense. Can you try it?
U wont be able to access the generator after u drop the vault
OMG_ITZ_AP3X I believe a gen with full gas lasts over a month. That way, you won’t have to worry about it for quite a long time. The base would probably get destroyed before the gen needs refueling. If not, you’ve got some editing to do haha

this is Pure Gold! I'm thinking of jumping back on to PvP when the flyer nerf hits consoles gonna build this straight away! perfect for solo players. :)
hell yeah! i'm pretty happy with the flyer nerfs as a solo player. Metal runs are a little more tedious, but it seems like we can fight back a little now :)
FINALLY a nice Base small and useable on officials. I'm sick of the "best base showcases" with 50k Metal and so on.
Made this base, but i dont have the fab or vault yet. Double walled and double door but didnt do the foundation or ceiling

Really cool video in going to build one. I see you don't have a fire or food bin does that ever become an issuse? All so is it safe to use the forge at night in that build can players see the flames?

Thank you bro I've been a fan for a long time I built this in official and my vault is full of ascendant riot and weapons because I can stay hidden while having a base that takes 20 c4 to raid
hey six! i just wanted to add, you can put a generator in the back before you drop the vault but its a pain in the neck because it took me 4 vaults! aha. atleast then you can put up a few turrets
could be helpful but if u cant reach the fabricator when u have a trapdoor just open it and spamm F on frabicator when it opens
If u make it 1x3 u could fit a genie in there and then u could also make a airlock against door campers with the forge in that airlock.
Edit: U could also fit aircondition or a fridge above the airlock.

Good and small only problem I see is if u wanna place turrents there where would u place the gen? Also where would a gem bench go? Other then that it's pretty decent

Could you do a midgame solo pvp base with a generator, preserving bin/refrigerator and some turrets as well as what is in this build. By the way great video really good base design.
I made a 3x1 base design with a fridge generator and aircondition and the rest that this base design does have.
Maybe instead of a metal hatch frame and trap door you could put a metal cat walk so you don't have to deal with the hatch door problem.
Gen waffle The point in the trapdoor is so people don't have access to it by blowing the door, they'd have to get the trapdoor aswell
To access fab put a ladder and when you climb up look up ex’s access

Hey man I managed to place a generator and I ended up bringing the base out one foundations in all directions and put vaults round it

Is this base viable as a spawn point? I'm not even finished with construction, and all my tests have me stuck in the hatchframe and needing to demolish it.

yeah sure, you could probs fit a generator in the back.
Only thing about having a generator in a hidden base is that the light from the gen will often render before the surroundings (not to mention the noise), and then people will know that a base is there to look for, and that it's active and probably contains something worth raiding for

No not yet. We console players are always a few weeks behind you PC players. My Ptera is still fast ;)
I found out that even more can be placed in this build, I managed to fit all this and a preserving bin to my build it on my channel (-shameless self plug😂)
