- Hello guys, welcome back! got another base build for you today, had quite a few people in the comments request a bigger base build with turrets and plant species x. So here it is, a compact 2x2 Solo PvP base build, featuring 2 vaults, a generator, smithy, forge, 2 cages. a preserving bin and a lot of mortar and pestles

About Ark: Survival Evolved:
As a man or woman stranded naked, freezing and starving on the shores of a mysterious island called ARK, you must hunt, harvest resources, craft items, grow crops, research technologies, and build shelters to withstand the elements. Dinosaurs, Creatures, & Breeding! -- over 70+ currently at Early Access and 100+ planned for final release -- can be tamed using a challenging capture-&-affinity process, involving weakening a feral creature to knock it unconscious, and then nursing it back to health with appropriate food. Once tamed, you can issue commands to your Pet, which it may follow depending on how well you’ve tamed and trained it. Pets, which can continue to level-up and consume food, can also carry Inventory and Equipment such as Armor, carry prey back to your settlement depending on their strength, and larger pets can be ridden and directly controlled! Fly a Pterodactyl over the snow-capped mountains, lift allies over enemy walls, race through the jungle with a pack of Raptors, tromp through an enemy base along a gigantic brontosaurus, or chase down prey on the back of a raging T-Rex! Take part in a dynamic ecosystem life-cycle with its own predator & prey hierarchies, where you are just one creature among many species struggling for dominance and survival. Pets can also be mated with the opposite gender, to selectively breed successive generations using a trait system based on recombinant genetic inheritance. This process includes both egg-based incubation and mammalian gestation lifecycles! Or put more simply, breed & raise Dino Babies!

Yo guys, apologies for the lack of videos in the past few days, I was feeling pretty sick recently.
Had a few people requesting a bigger base build, with some turrets. Here it is!
I'm thinking of starting a solo survival series on official servers in the near future, I'm looking for some comments on what you guys would like to see, length of videos, which footage to cut, things like that. Let me know :)

I hate directly copying bases, usually I just jumble my own ideas, other friends ideas, and RUclipsrs ideas to make a good base but this base is so perfect for the way that I play. Like damn dude.
I personally like seeing some farming as well as raids. Good base build keep it up.

i am a seasoned pvp ark player but thats the first time i saw such an awesome base
Just an idea, if you sink the foundations two levels for the cages, you can place items on the second floor. This would give you much more floor space up there for storage, furnaces, etc. I think the extra few steps would be very much worth the effort. You could also add a fridge, however that also need to be sunk two foundations as well to still use second floor.

You should totally do a solo series, preferably no episodes longer than 45 minutes (but I can just skim through them if they are)
yeah a lot of people have suggested 15-20 mins, So I will probably aim for that.

Full playthrough. So many youtubers edit the vids down to bite size portions with just action packed content and while thats fun, for the newer/average player like myself the leveling/gathering/building process in general is still somewhat of a mystery to us on how to optimise our time. Great content though dude keep up the good work

I think you can fit multiple things in one cage. We currently have multiple beetles in one so I think you could have it on top of the snail in one cage. Long episodes would good I think with maybe some cuts. By the way I noticed that green paint doesn't really work on metal but it really helps camouflage stone. It's especially good when you're in the jungle near those moss covered rocks. What do you think about using fence foundations to make the inside wall metal but the outside stone with forest paint? I think it could a long way when you're in the trees and jungle areas. Great vids by the way earned a sub.

Nice vid man! I'd love to see a solo survival series from you. Just a few suggestions, maybe 20-30 min vids to get a reasonable amount of content in but not bore anyone. First few in the series could possibly be raw gameplay of you just starting out(obviously cut out the wait time of any tames). Any major changes to your base structure or location would be nice as well as showing the knocking out process of larger tames(Rex's etc) if you do end up taming one.

You could maybe include the chem bench in place of the cage so you can craft bullets faster
I'd like to see something similar size with the chem bench and at least one fridge. A full build with the layering would be good too, great builds so far

builds, short clips of farming,so taming basically putting clips of everything into 1 and make them short

Try adding a Dino pen to your next build, for a bird, trike, and anky..... that would be great!

and official pvp would be immense but very hard for you solo, maybe try a modded one with slightly higher rates, either way would like to see you play and some of everything would be nice to see.
Nice build, can't wait for the patch to hit xbox, so the vaults get smaller. Also if you do a solo pvp series, which it looks like most people want to see (inc me) id say 20 - 30 minute videos. A lot of people like to watch the grinding and building side of Ark too, so dont think you have to raid every episode.

I like your base design, but I'm my opinion there is a flaw, once someone breaks your door they will be able to break the bed very easily (if it didn't get blown up from the door being blown up)
and you wouldn't be able to respawn and defend your base.
I would recommend moving or adding a bed to the 2nd floor or add some sleeping bags around your base area so you can defend.
yeah I guess that's true, I usually play solo, so its pretty hard to defend though. Sleeping bags nearby is a good idea.
Ben Ether I would layer foundations and put the bed on the lowest so it is protected . trick also works for a spawn point in the area to counter any pesky visitors

That's a great build. Can't wait for the small vaults on console. Where would you keep your tames?
Captain Rednek u wouldn't go for anything big or large if u wanna remain hidden, I would place Species X and pillars around x2-x3 high around the base and have the plant X set to all targets incase any wilds get in and attack ur passive dino
Yeah six you should do that it would be a good idea but it is if u have the time and also you maybe should time lapse instead of cut out the farming

I would prefer a 3x3 or 4x4 design with a Dino pen as for the pvp series I would like it if you could go over where to start and where to build and overall just a guide on how to play solo. On the island map preferably

I think it would be better to get the Geny on second floor somehow cuz when they blow in trough the door then they will destroy ladder and can't get up to it
Small pyramid build would have worked so much better for you. Though might not be good for a hidden base.

Nice video mate! this build would hold its own pretty damn good against larger tribe's, small in a forest Is best in ark!
I see so many noobs building eye sore bases that I can raid with a few c4 and running to the walls out of turret range due to extremely bad placement, but I'm not complaining as I get stacks of loot from them sir ha ha!

Liking your stuff, I have a small tribe of 4, your builds might be useful to us.
These are good for starting off but we can very quickly end up expanding and getting dinos which makes us more noticeable. Any ideas for maintaining low profile? Biggest threat is tyrannical alphas which wouldn't be phased by the defended 2x2 unfortunately
Matt Tolman Add stone fence foundations and place a layer of stone walls on the outside of metal walls that way you can paint them green to make it blend into the jungle setting.
Can u fit a fridge in there and wat colour would u recommend painting it. And also Wat u think about putting pillars around to stop Dinos?

nice build. for your series cut the farming out and do the taming and building progress only in parts not the full time

Amazing base!! I'm in a 2 man tribe with my friend on a pvp server and we have your hidden 1x1 compact base placed in walking distance from silica pearls, metal nodes, and all beaver dam spawns. I was wondering, what range would you have the turrets and plant species X on in order to not shoot fliers flying above? We want to stay hidden, but still be strong enough to take down anyone trying to raid the base safely?
thanks man, I would probably have them set to low or medium, and put a few plant turrets on all targets, so they can clear out any carnivorous dinos in the area (would be particularly useful if you had any passive dinos near the base).
SixShadows btw, why the cages?
I usually tame a snail and dung beetle, put them in the cage and set them to wander. Snail produces CP passively, and dung beetle for fertilizer.
Alright. I've just place down this base with a few slight modifications. I took out the cages and fit the smithy and the preserving bin on the first floor. No vaults yet, I'm on PS4 so I have the huge vaults until the patch drops on the console. I put the smithy where the cages are as far back touching the fabricator. Then I put the preserving bin facing the forge with the back of the preserving bin against the smithy. There's enough space to access everything so you can put all of it inside a 2x2x1. I also made one with a 2x2x3 where the second and 3rd level are out of stone and the giant hatch frame above is stone. Yes it's weak, but that den is just for 1 ptera. I play pvp so stealth is key. Either way, amazing video. It was very inspiring to this base and it's worked out great. I've built your 1x1 by multiple beaver spawns, by the silica pearl coast, and one half way up the blue obs mountain and I just fast travel to harvest metal pearls and paste. Then, from this base, I just fly to them with my bird and collect everything and bring it back with my bird. I only fly around when my server is near empty. When it's packed, I farm with fast traveling or just make dodo kibble or pvp lol.
Alexei Lima oh nice man, not sure if you know , but you can actually fit a ptera through a normal door, so building a small 1x1 on the side might help you to stay hidden , rather then the expansion on the top :)

never build your bed in front of a door.... of they blow up your door your beds are gone.. beds always go on the 2nd floor
i have been looking to start on official for a while now and starting solo is almost impossible nowadays so if your up for it i would love to start with you.
