    Wow, this is so great on so many levels! F3 variation, or shoould I say "Ginger variation' is briliant, also kind of 'discrescpecting' Ben Finegold's "never play f3', who of course Simon had a feud with. GingerGM and ChessNetwork were my favorites when I started watching chess on youtube around 2016, and in many regards still are, I just recently re-listened Simon's interviews on Perpetual Chess Podcast just to hear some of the stories again, and now this happens, so freaking great!

    • @adamd9610
      @adamd9610 Год назад

      @@KNNY61 nah, I dont think Ben's that type of guy and there's not much bad blood between them anymore, it seems. When you analyze the game with engine, it's not that easy to understand why white's evaluation is creeping up until a certain move unless you're a GM with a strong postional understanding. Obviously black not taking a pawn with a bishop on move 13 was a mistake which should not have been made on 2200 FIDE level, but you can also easilly undestand how black, with all the the potential threats that white had in this position and time ticking away, missed the fact gaining a tempo with check makes this move quite safe and actually, saves them from being put on a costatnt defensive.

    The 2:00 position by Simon has been the position I've always been trying to get to in my games in the past couple months, I just love this centre control. This F3 pawn I've been doing in a while

    The kingside rook was activated without even making a single move, which was only made possible due to f3 on move 5!
