    Add a circuit protection board for you Li-po or li-on batterry , it's bad for lifetime to use without the circuit protection , but good job for the creation .

    Dude THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I have SO MANY of these batts laying around cuz I smoke usen a vaping mod and use these same batts everyday. N I have a bunch so I dont use all of them everyday. Only 4. So I couldnt think of wat to use them for. And a few times my crappy iron left life support n moved to the afterlife and i ended up not being able to solder stuff n have to wait for my mail to come for my new iron in from ebay. NOW I can make a SUPER cheap n ok iron for quick fix its. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!! KEEP UP THE WORK!!

      +pe6o991 I also thought they read "do not short" on batteries.

    • @binaryLV
      @binaryLV 8 лет назад +1

      +Sailor OnDaTea where do you see the short? I see the load attached to the battery. It's the same as if you would power a ~5W bulb with a battery.

    • @sailorondatea
      @sailorondatea 8 лет назад

      how many ohms are there?

    • @binaryLV
      @binaryLV 8 лет назад

      +Sailor OnDaTea
      1:14 - he uses Nichrome wire 0.2mm which might be 34.7 Ohm/m.
      3:03 - he uses 10cm which is around 3.5 Ohm. He does not use full length, so final resistance is smaller, could be roughly 3 Ohm.

    • @kafir1mw2quick
      @kafir1mw2quick 8 лет назад

      +binaryLV alot of E-cigs also use Li-ion batterys with coils being around 1,2-3 ohm so there is no diffrence. ive never heard of a E-cig exploding in someones face.

    brilliant for quick fix now when playing where there is no power. others commented it's not LiPo but NiMh, is better for this anyhow. a couple sub C NiMh in series and longer nichrome for more heat less current draw maybe, but the idea is solid.

    As someone else already pointed out, this is a perfect way to kill a perfectly working lithium cell. Unless you're very, very careful about not discharging it too much, I guess, but you should not just rely on that. Lithium cells protection circuits are very cheap, you can grab several for a couple of bucks on eBay.
    I have to say though, that it's a really neat idea.
