124 yrs since this was filmed! She was on her last tour. She passed in January 1901! You tell it was her carriage when everyone started to wave their hanky's and take their hats off (the men).
@@andrewwigglesworth3030 I don't think the IRA saw any great value in assassinating Queen Elizabeth. Lord Mountbatten was a different matter because he was not just a monarch but also a high-ranking member of the British military. So he was a high value target.
I doubt many (if any) of that crowd are ordinary Irish people. The probably would not be left near the place anyway. Most likely they are from the UK's Irish administration and diplomats / politicians and Ulster Orangemen down from the north.
Fascinating footage from so long ago
Strange watching these people knowing their long dead. People will look back on us as well.
Yeahh and some day. Some one will read this comment and on that day you are already dead. . ..
Or yahh both of us.
That’s depressing.
Me too 🤣🤣

I am thrilled to see footages of Queen Victoria as her reign neared its end. Of very huge interest, indeed.

Ship St. entrance, Lower Castle Yard.
As an Irish person I feel no shame watching this. At the time she was our Queen after all.
As an A republic of Ireland person , I want to know if there were attempts on her life and by whom ?
Well you should be ashamed - she wasn't called the famine queen for nothing you know.
Come off it. She was never our queen
According to an Irish newspaper she "pissed " over the bridge. The type-setter was sacked.
@johnbryson1019 That's gas 🤣🤣🤣

Were there any assassination attempts ?
The IRA made a half-hearted attempt in 1977 at Sullom Voe in Scotland but were unsuccessful.
@@leesider You're saying that the IRA attempted to assassinate Queen Victoria in 1977? No wonder it was half-hearted :-D
There were several assassination attempts against Queen Victoria over the years, none in Ireland.

@@leesider Err, the Queen is the Head of the Armed Forces.

Yeah like me. I'm very Irish, an Australian descended from Irish convicts sent to Tasmania, but when it comes to Irish nationalism...MEH.
In and of themselves, VERY overrated whiners of people.
