The world needs more people like these two.
This song is so beautiful, it brings tears to my eyes.. the way they sing it, makes me think of my own roots
JPW is extraordinarily gifted with nonstandard tuning harmony and she’s simply exquisitely smooth
Somehow its not the same knowing they are no longer together now :( my word shattered knowing I'd never get to see one of my absolute favorite bands that helped me through so much with their beautiful music in concert . . . . . This kills me!
This song is everything, still.
this is the music that the world needs
old souls. this is the kind of music that lights a fire in me.
THEY ARE SO DAMN GOOD I CAN'T STAND IT.
She ….. is simply breathtaking
One person was too overcome with the raw beauty of the music and missed the "Like" button.
how can anyone dislike this. with so much beauty and passion. this is what real music is. The Civil Wars warms my heart♥
Whenever I hear their music, I feel at peace. I can listen to their songs repeatedly the entire day and not get tired.
country/folk music. kind of reminds me of the stuff i used to hear as a kid growing up back in the late 60's early 70's
Every conversation should be like this.
They just draw me in SO perfectly.
he looks like Neal Casal too - both of them are gorgeous and their music is to die for......
I get goosebumps every single time I hear these two :) Soul mates in music.
i can't believe anyone would actually dislike this. that's just not normal.
Wow! The harmonization at 1:12 took my breath away.
i love the guitar in this song, and i perosnally think this is one of their best. It does it for me anyways.
I have no clue why but this song made me tear up!! SOOO beautiful!!!
I love how they feel the music. :)
Brilliant pair! First saw them on the 2012 Grammys. They have an impeccable sound and seem to have the entire package.
This is my favourite performance of them
One of the best songs I've ever heard. Just beautiful.
this song gives me chills. so simple and beautiful
Besides wonderful (as always) The civil Wars,
Doug Fellegy is great cameraman, director & editor!
I should remember his name.
Just great.
She's got an angels voice!!
Pretty sure I've yawned fifteen times since I did that. Absolutely perfect lazy Saturday morning combination. Thanks! :)
I never knew Johnny Depp was such an amazing singer.
Magical.
You got my tears =) Wonderful
beautiful!! everything they do i love! their voices where made to be brought together, musical soul mates!!
they are both married but not to each other just in case you didn't know, They just happened to meet one night in an open mic setting in a club. They just happened to get lucky to find each other, I think their harmony is amazing and at first I would have bet money they were sister and brother for everyone knows relatives harmonize the very best
they didn't meet in a club, it was at a song writing gathering in Nashville, they drew straws to be in the same room.
Probably my favorite tune of the Barton Hollow album
LOVE THEM
Some time just wanna drink a nice coffee and hear them sing .but this video is 7 years ago. Where are they now ?
Beautiful voice
Amazing
I love at 2:18 after they do that really cool harmony, the guy looks at her and is like, "yea. that was nice."
I know this is done too often by people within comments, but if you feel so inclined, you should open a new tab and find 'rainymood' (sounds of rain) and let that play while you listen to this performance. With or without it, I can only agree that this is raw beauty; however, I thoroughly enjoy the aesthetic combination and thought you might as well.
Lovely
2:48 John sounds like an angel
Fully convinced Joy is the sexiest woman on the planet.
She really is. She is greater than the sum of her parts.
I think this is one of the first times I've seen Joy in something other than a black dress. Stunning, nonetheless. (:
how is this type of music called? its beautiful.
That's so funny !
Only 4,800 views?!! Is there something wrong with my eyes??? Either that or there's something wrong with people's ears!!!
Who in their right mind dislikes this?
Its called Alternitave, Singer/Songwriter
I do believe she is the most beautiful woman I've ever seen
They're makin love. Hope they're not related.
@MrG123d I totally agree. I think most of the music played on the radio these days is crap.
:) You're welcome.
@tomdunk132 ORLY???
i find that with the facial hair he kinda looks like Johnny Depp :P
Looks more like Johnny Depp crossed with Jack White
That's exactly what I'm saying. America was colonised by England in the 17th Century and the early English settlors brought with them the English language, which Americans couldn't quite grasp correctly, so they invented their own sloppy way of speaking English.
Who are you talking to?
She sounds a bit like Alison Kraus.
Yes, England actually, and just remember who taught you to speak English. How on earth can you infer that the "could care less" relates to the singers when it is clearly personal to the writer. The writer couldn't possibly say with any honesty what the singers think (unless the writer is either Joy or John-Paul. And "could care less" can never mean "couldn't care less" which is, I guess, the real intended meaning. Come on troll, let's have it !
WTF 1 dislike .l.
lol
"they are the greatest singers ive ever heard and could care less what anyone else thinks"
Actually, if read correctly, she's inferring that the singers couldn't care less what anyone things...obviously not what she meant to say, but I just thought I'd hop in here and let you know your English lesson is incorrect. And do tell, where are you from? Please say UK, because I'd LOVE to bash some of the stupid phrases you guys use....troll.
Because you presumably mean "I couldn't care less" but what you have said is not the same. You have said that you do care what antone else thinks but could care less. It's funny how Americans (I presume you are one) have taken perfectly acceptable English phrases and adapted them into meaningless idioms. Sheer laziness for the most part.
Is that not brilliant.
Lol, you're funny. Hmm, well you didn't teach me English, if that is what you meant by your comment of " and just remember who taught you to speak English", and the way you state your sentence you make it out that America was already a white country with no working knowledge of the English language. You might want to retake a couple of basic level History classes so you can get your facts straight.
