Great review! Just ordered this because I love coffee with a lot of crema but the nice espresso machines are over $600. The pod prices were easily justified once I realized that compared to my daily Starbucks runs this is still much cheaper
It's not crema, though. It's aerated foam. They're produced via different methods which creates different texture and flavor. Crema is produced via carbon dioxide trapped in the coffee. The foam from a Nespresso is caused by the blender-like action of the spinning pod and aerated water.

Hi Justin, thanks does your review. I didn’t like the Kuerig Coffee. I’ve been wondering about this machine for quite some time. Honestly, you’re the first video I could sit through. It’s was thorough, to the point and covered a lot. I hate it when there a lot of background info and unnecessary comments about who knows what. This is the type of video I was looking for. Thank you!!!
I just got mine and am enjoying experimenting with it. My machine was made by Breville, and I believe some of them are made by another company, but that may be just for the original Nepresso. Once I finished the 12 pods that came with my machine, I tried to find the pods locally but found out they can only be obtained from the company. When I finally placed my order (on a Friday night), they arrived Monday morning. I compare this machine to having a printer; as stated, thy make their money on the pods, like printer manufacturers make it on ink cartridges. For me, I plan to use this when I only have time for one cup of coffee or I want a specialty drink. Mine came with a frothed, so I do have some extra options. I really appreciate the tips given here for cleaning the machine, etc. Do order the recycling bag when you place your order; it’s free.
I have the same machine which is about 10 months old. While brewing the coffee started streaming out the back of the machine through the pod ejection ramp and all over the counter. I tried cleaning then rescaling and it still does it. Called customer service and they were amazing, Tried one more thing that didn’t work. They will send me a box specifically to ship the machine in for repair with the shipping prepaid. The repair time might be a little longer due to the pandemic, but she was very understanding. Very caring customer service. I have to make due with drip coffee for 3 or more weeks, and believe me, there is a big difference in taste! And I love the 14 ounce choice as well as the ability to choose the strength and underlying notes of the coffee.
I'm in the market for a Nespresso to replace my Keurig. I've watched tons of reviews and yours is the most straight forward and informative I've found so far! Thank you :)
@@illsuive You forgot to mention that you can't purchase the pods anywhere the only way to get them is directly from the company which is how they get all of the money. There is only one store I've ever seen them in and it was my Bed Bath & Beyond unfortunately my BB&B just closed.
Nespresso currently only sells their capsules from their own stores as they want to create a one on one personal experience with their costumers but the have many options online to help you out with that and only two days shipping when you purchase the capsules they come in a sleeve of 10 per kind and it really doesn’t range over $12 per sleeve which when you consider how much you spend on a cup of coffee is not a lot and you are getting a 100% coffee grind
@@josephbennett3482 Pods are available through Nespresso online, in their physical stores (I happen to live near one) and on Amazon. There is also some third-party selling a refillable pod now, but I'm not sure I trust it. And he did very clearly say in the video that the pods are where they make their money. By the way, according to the Nespresso rep in the BB&B, BB&B has never carried the virtuo pods.
@@SkylarCarswell33 this rationale was why I finally got one of these. I was first put off by the price of pods and that they were only sold by the one company, but I finally decided that 1) the lattes it makes are as good as what I get at most coffee shops, and a lot cheaper and more convenient, and 2). The regular coffees it makes are a bonus for quick convenience. It did not replace my percolator for most morning coffee at home, but it did replace almost all my trips out for a latte. Plus it's much easier to use and clean than a traditional espresso machine. 3). I predict Nespresso will be in business for a while, and if they stop selling the pods while I still have a machine, I predict some third party will step in. And Justin is right, if you're a coffee craft expert, who will drink nothing but the best, you're not looking at one of these anyway.
I use these for mornings because I’m in back to back meetings, often triple or quadruple booked, and simply don’t have time to use my proper machine. Proper espresso machine takes 30 minutes to heat up, never mind grinding, pressing, pulling, frothing if I make a cappuccino, and cleaning. It’s as good as you can get without spending the time to make a proper espresso.
This review was really helpful as I'm thinking about becoming a first time Nespresso owner. Have you had problems with water leakage? I saw a concerning number of comments on their site.
I just got mine as a gift and wow I’m very impressed and coffee take amazing .. it cheaper then Starbucks and with COVID this is a great alternative.. love the coffee Great review !! Short and sweet and too the point
@@MrUltimateX the nespresso vertuo line is more $$$ then the original it also produces amazing coffee. If you invest the refill system or reusable pod, it makes it worth it. I still buy new on sale or special but been very happy
Descaling solution can be made by adding a Tbsp of citric acid (found at chemical supply companies on line), or one packet of non-sweetened lemonade flavored Kool Ade to a full tank of water. Just run another tank of clean water through afterward.
I can not understate how amazing my machine has been. I am a senior in high school, and I wake up every morning to make myself a nice drink that tastes just as good as what I would order from starbucks, for a fraction of the price and time. It takes 5 minutes to make my iced coffee with espresso at the max, and I'm ready to go! The only bad thing to come out of my machine has been that my mom also fell in love with it, and now has to buy her own when I move off to college! It's made my mornings easier, vastly cut down my calorie count, and has generally improved my mornings as a whole. One thing I think is underrated about Nespresso is the amount of quality control they have with their product. With Keurig, they have an abundance of options for different flavors and brands, but they as a company have no control over how those different flavors actually taste when made in the machine or just the "health" aspect of the product. Nespresso controls essentially every aspect of their product which, yes, increases the price (really not much, though), but vastly improves the quality of the brew and the ingredients inside of it. The machine is intuitive and easy to use and clean, and above all, makes a good brew. I wholeheartedly recommend this product to ANYONE wanting a fast, easy, and delicious coffee experience, NO MATTER your age! For people my age (late HS and college) STOP going to Starbucks and buy this! I used to go to Starbucks maybe 3 times a week at the most to get an Iced Caramel Macchiato, but now I can have one everyday, and an entire month's worth of Nespresso double espresso pods and vanilla coffee syrup costs as much as 1.5 weeks of going to Starbucks. Last thing: I think it says a lot about a product when an 18 year old kid is spending his afternoon writing a lengthy overwhelmingly positive review about it. That's how much I love this thing. *EDIT* I feel the need to make it clear that this product is AMAZING for its ability to make a good cup of coffee or espresso at its price point and its extreme ease of use and overall convenience. I would not endorse this product over a traditional espresso maker if you want to drink espresso by itself, or if you have the time and willingness to actually make a quality espresso each morning (or whenever you feel like it). If you're like me and you want to make Starbucks-type drinks with all the fixings, or if you only want-to-spend/have 3-5 minutes to make your coffee in the morning, this product is for you. If you're choosing between Keurig and Nespresso, keep doing your research and make your decision individually, not solely based on this comment or video! (Also, Amazon has AMAZING customer service and return policies, so maybe even order either the keurig or nespresso and try them out for a week or so and return it if you don't like it! I will say that our old Keurig lost its touch a year or so in, but the Nespresso is still going strong now that we've had it about 6 months.)
I got one this year and its great! PODs are about $1 a piece which is less then getting Starbucks. Very premium and the coffee is WAY better then anything I got out of my Keurig. Great gift for a coffee connoisseur.
Nice job... overall, a very thorough overview. I own two of these machines. One was on my kitchen counter and the other on my desk at work. I have since started my own coffee roasting business so neither get use anymore but they served their purpose well and in the year or two I used them, never ran into a single issue. That’s not something I can say of any of the Keurig machines I had owned prior. For quick and convenient, these machines are great. If you’re more into subtle flavors and not against taking more time to brew an excellent cup, these machines are not for you. I used to drink these every day and now, I can’t seem to tolerate more than a sip or two before dumping it out. Oh, and my eye twitched every time I heard “expresso”. You’ve learned something new though, so thats good. LOL
Taiel Az For espresso, I have a machine made by Rocket. That’s not in every person’s budget though. For coffee, I like pour overs. You can get a Hario V60 for under $20 and in 3-4 minutes, you have a great cup of coffee. For larger pots and convenience, I also have and enjoy the Breville Precision Brewer. That makes a pot of coffee (typical drip machine) but also have a pour over accessory for those very early mornings when you don’t want to put the effort in.
I went with the non-motorized lid version of this machine. I clean it between each use by running an empty espresso shell through after each brew. It’s amazing how there are always a few grounds that come out when I do. Where are they going when I don’t do it like this? 🤔
I went through three Nespresso machines and blew lots of money with bad tasting coffee. The machine is not durable. The first few months it was fantastic, but I ended up losing more money because the machines will not last long. I use a French press now and I am happy.
Now that I get free weekly bags of coffee (from work), I found it useless to continue to buy pods. I ended up buying a stainless steel reusable pod for my nespresso so I can use my own freshly ground beans :D saved me tons!!
The original machine does Lungos too and not only expressos. Have one bought around 7 years back, still runs, never had issues with it - just do maintenance (descaling) every 4 months or so..
Paid 50 for mines and although I love the machine I really wish there were third party sellers bc the pods along with the delivery can be expensive. This month I’m going to try to go to Sur la table to see if they have them there to eliminate that pesky delivery fee!
I loved how detailed this is! I'm looking for the right nespresso machine for me and this video was super helpful! Also, Marylander here too! I heard the accent when you said honeycomb lol.
I just got one yesterday. It comes within 2 days. If you drink one per day. I think it worth it. It costs around 0.7 cents per cup. I use one casual to two cups. The second cup will little thinner but it is still tasty for me.
What a great real world review. I get the appeal of convenience with these and Keurig, but the expense of the machines along with the ongoing high price of pods and capsules is a big negative. Not to mention the resources used to produce the capsules/pods and subsequent landfill waste. All for a mediocre coffee or espresso at best. I use and recommend an Aeropress along with a burr coffee grinder. Together they make wonderful coffee. I grind the beans fresh for each espresso like shot (I also only use for latte) or cup of americano coffee. Boiling the water, grinding the beans and brewing the espresso/coffee takes 5 minutes or less. And cleanup is just a rinse under the faucet. Great coffee, low expense, no waste and just a tiny amount of effort.
Nespresso produce 0 waste a pods are recyclable and recyclable bags are free. Also the coffee in the pods are high end and not just any coffee bean is used. Absolutely no oxygen touches the coffee in production until they are punctured by the machine to brew.
futureace One Hi, I’ve recently bought my 3rd Delonghi Nespresso Pro machine (ea. time I buy a better machine with more functions). I use a particular brand of ground coffee & refillable coffee pods, which allows convenience, cheaper pods & sustainability (original style pods). Plus the machine can be used as an urn. I have a really tiny kitchen, no kettle taking up space for which I’m so grateful. Enjoyed this review too.
Espresso is a borrowed word from Italian referring to coffee brewed by forcing steam or hot water through finely ground coffee. This method is quick, involves "pressing" water through coffee, and the word is very close to the English word "express," which shares those meanings. Thus, it is not uncommon, nor wrong, to hear this beverage referred to as expresso. Source: www.merriam-webster.com/words-at-play/espresso-vs-expresso-usage-history
U use my keurig mini everyday, multiple times, im not that picky on my coffe, i drink the kirkland bold one on the strong setting, and its fine by me (i drink my coffee black with just a tiny bit of sugar). Im thinking on upgrading to a nesspreso but i dont know.
Personal experience - I hated the taste of the vertuo line coffee / espresso. I exchanged the machine for a machine that uses the original capsules and like it a lot.
Al-Moa’qt I am really not sure what the exact difference is, but the vertuo line capsules tasted very artificial to me. I know that vertuo offers both espresso and coffee capsules. Also, the machines that use the original capsules are capable is using capsules of different brands while vertuo machines only use Nespresso capsules. Hope this helps!
Paula thank you so much for the great info! I ordered both in order to keep one and return the other. Do you know the best way/ product to refill the capsules? I found a lot on Amazon but the reviews are not good.
Al-Moa’qt hi I’m very sorry but I just saw your message. I don’t know of any good ones that you can refill because I haven’t tried any yet. If you have Costco by you they started carrying Starbucks capsules for the original line I think they are 39$ for 60 of them, which is still pricey but cheaper than other capsules. I think they also have Peet’s coffee, but I haven’t tried. Let me know how you like the machines!
Just want to mention that the machines from both lines actually do create the proper pressure to make proper espresso/coffee with real creama. I grew up in a coffee shop and was used to certain coffees. But I now own both an Original machine and a Vertuo because they genuinely do produce the same quality as a coffee shop machine. Their Original machines are even rated at a higher bar pressure than most coffee shops even use. I am lucky to have a store near me where the staff actually knows what they're talking about and the amazing work the company puts into the coffee is outstanding.
Great comment/s. Here in the UK our coffee shops start out making rich, full-bodied coffee for Cortados, Flat whites etc but as they change staff, the coffee gets drowned in milk! The only good coffee is an independent run by a Colombian guy who uses the same machine as the chains that make sloppy coffee! There are virtually no Colombians in the UK but I'm very lucky!!!!

I just purchased one of these machines it was only £99 for the machine with 100 free capsules and a free 2 months subscription to the nespresso membership
Crema is oil from the coffee. All coffee has oil, so the crema from the Vertuo Systems is authentic crema. It’s the espresso from the vertuo Systems that aren’t true espressos because “true” espresso is made under pressure.
The Vertuo System runs at an extreme high RPM to create the same pressure you'd find in an espresso machine, that's part of how the creama is possible on the coffees and espresso. :) That's also why the machine moves or vibrates more than a Keurig, it's creating that pressure to give you real espresso and coffee.
@Andrew, I disagree. As the other reply says, pressure created by centrifugal force is no less 'true' than pressure made by a pump. It is a different process, no doubt, but that does make it less 'true' any more than pump driven espresso machines are less 'true' than boiler machines. The crems is another story. Crema on traditional espresso is an indicator that you did everything just right. Use bad coffee, don't tamp or pull correctly, and you won't get good crema. This centrifuge process will pump out an inch of foam on anything it puts out, no matter what. It's not the same.
Unfortunately a cleaning pod wouldn't be able to help clean your water lines. Which is what the descaling is for. :) Although no water sits in the machine, as water passes through it can leave mineral build up over time.
Thanks for great video, very well explained,i heard alot about these machines leaking and were you put pod in is very hard ti clean around it but you have it along time and no problems so must be ok i think i will buy one, thanks again
I just bought this mashine :) and I love it. But all those coffee pods are confusing? Is it the size of the pos and not the coffee inside, that desides what it is? Espresso, american, ordinary, and such?
Loved your video man, you gave the facts straight. I see so many people talking about how this machine makes "espresso" when it is not true at all, it is almost the same kind of coffee that u can get from a Moka pot which is not espresso either. To get espresso you need 9 Barr of pressure, which these appliances do not achieve. I'm not saying that you cant enjoy their this kind of coffee but some people need to watch this video to get their facts straight.
Enjoyed video. How hard is it to find the pods? I currently have a Starbucks Verismo which I love, but they stopped selling the pods in the stores and I hate ordering them online.
I just got mine at Williams Sonoma, on sale, and it came with a milk frothier. They are manufactured by two different companies; mine was made by Breville, and so far I’m enjoying it.
I was n Bed, Bad & Beyond the other day, and out of sheer boredom I let the Nespresso rep run through her spiel about the Nespresso lines. After thinking how Nespresso tries to rope you into whatever coffee they have on tap, I was pretty sure I’d never buy this product. Until your video, I didn’t even consider how much Nespresso was gonna soak customers for the pods. Your video completely convinced me I’d never buy one.
I love the taste of the coffes, But only one thing that I am Not happy about and No ones talks about it......... I wish the coffe came out extremely hot ! To enjoy it... I have to basically finish it in less than three minutes because it’s not hot enough!!!!!
I find myself having to rush the drinking because of this problem, too, but I've gotten used to it. I only switched from the Original Line because my partner likes long coffee, but I ended up liking it so much that I'm the one who uses it more.
FYI, official pronunciation: VER same as VERy (not like verrrb) TEW O 🤣 Also don’t use vinegar to descale! It’s not powerful enough! And it will taste terrible!! The descale solution uses citric acid which can descale in 5min vs 4hrs of soaking (not possible to soak internals) Also I would actually recommend to buy from nespresso site, you always get a free gift or can use a coupon and can add the free recycle bags (don’t forget to add to cart). Amazon won’t provide the bags/provide free shipping.
I have had an nespresso membership since 2006 . Many good coffees but sick of all the dramas warm coffees over the years and high cost of pods. Looking at latest Breville Oracle Touch machine .
Hola, es normal que siga goteando la cafetera en la parte de adentro donde SE pone El pods y por donde sale El cafe Sigue goteando cafe incluso horas despues de haber hecho El cafe
Could you list the model number etc of the white machine your explaining ..it’s kinda confusing after watching the nespresso commercial ( Clooney) nespresso ( nestle) made one type of machine
Very good review, thank you. I've had the original Nespresso capsule system for many years and use it daily and not sure of extra benefits with this new system. One small thing that bothers me with old system is that the accessories like water tank etc aren't dishwasher proof and need to be washed by hand. Presume same on the newer Vertuo machines?
I had a Nespresso Essenza Mini which I loved. Thought I'd upgrade to a Vertuo machine... holy fuck what were they thinking. The coffee tasted absolutely awful, and what had been a really simple process to make a coffee suddenly became complex and bulky. Returned it the next day.
Just so you know, they are referred to as capsules, not PODs. Also, the brewing process is called “centrifusion,” where it utilizes the centrifugal force to create the crema. Normally, crema is produced by multiple bars of pressure, however, if you want THAT process, the Nespresso OriginalLine has that ability.
Is water hot when dispensed from the machine? I've tried a nespresso machine form this line in the past and learned that the water was lukewarm. Has this changed?
Mas Fet, I have a similar machine to this from the VertuoPlus Deluxe line (it’s a little different shape) but everything is the same otherwise. I have always had very hot and tasty drinks from it. Not anything like scalding but the right temperature you’d want for a hot coffee or espresso and etc.
Judging by phrasing of your question, I'm certain you will not find the Nespresso coffee hot enough. It's probably the most common complaint, and the number one thing I would change if I could. Preheat the cup. That helps.
ApKNJ I have the Breville Vertuo Plus machine and I can promise you it’s plenty hot enough. I always have to let my coffee sit for a few minutes, otherwise it will scald my mouth. I learned the hard way.
@@FlightData101 I also have the Breville Vertuo Plus, as well has having sampled coffee from a variety of the machines in the stores, and noting the comments of many other owners, and can only conclude you must have a very sensitive mouth. Those of us who like our machines like our machines. There's no need to exaggerate its sustainablity or performance like some D.C. spin doctor. Summer is coming, and it may get warm outside. Hi I have a question I need help I have this machine. And I left the lunge open over night. And now it won’t close. And my machine won’t even turn on. I don’t know what to do. Please someone help if anyone knows 😱😥
I've had mine for about a year and a half and I find that the taste has changed now. It tastes more acidic. It also had a phase where it was leaking around the pod (it stopped doing that mysteriously). Anyone else experience this?
Jenn Have you descaled the machine using one of Nespressos descaling kits they sell? As if you have not descaled your machine that’s probably why your coffee tastes acidic
The Coffee is hermetically sealed once it is grinded it is put in right away and no Air touches the coffee as it stated on nespresso site ... After grinding, the coffee is packed in a laminated aluminium capsule that protects ground coffee from contact with the air, light and moisture. Processed and packed under inert atmosphere and hermetically sealed in, the Nespresso capsule guarantees consistent coffee quality by locking in the freshness of the coffee’s flavours and its 900 aromas for 12 months. The material was also favoured because it is 100% recyclable and thus not only maintains quality and flavour integrity, but is not a spent resource once used. Compared against the production of primary aluminium, the recycling of aluminium products consumes as little as 5% of the energy and emits only 5% of the greenhouse gases.
Only one issue. When u grind coffee, there’s a large amount of CO2 gas being released. So much in fact that manufacturers have to let it evacuate before bagging. This process can take a day or some factories take a whole week. So when companies grind their coffee and hermetically seal them, we have no way of telling how long they wait before sealing them. It can’t be right away after grinding because the pods would swell up and explode from the escaping gases. Nespresso declines to comment on time it takes from grind to seal. In any case that can’t be too fresh.
@@ugotserved911 www.nespresso.com/pro/au/en/news-how-our-coffee-is-made GRINDING TO CREATE A POWDER. Grinding increases the surface area of the coffee in contact with oxygen and the coffee risks losing its aromas quickly. It is therefore carried out in a deoxygenated environment. The coffee is placed into a grinder and the degree of grinding is calculated to suit the particular blend of coffee. Accurate and consistent grinding is imperative and is about the right balance between various attributes that we wish to bring out: acidity, bitterness, body and aromatic notes. The grinding process affects the flow time when preparing your coffee. For example, the more finely ground the coffee, the slower the speed with which water will pass through it meaning the more full bodied and bitter the taste will be.
Mike Denune excellent find. I’m familiar with the method manufacturers including Nespresso use to create the so called deoxygenated environment- Common tactics are to top off pods with Nitrogen gas to put a lid on oxidation, however thus still doesn’t answer the question of how long after the bean is ground do they wait to seal them in the pods. Finely ground coffee at the espresso level will begin to lose its freshness in as little as 30 min. I mean forget the fancy science for a second and just use ur nose. Open a lid of Nespresso and Compare the smell with a freshly ground batch of beans in the same quantity. Big difference. Having said all that, I’m still probably gettin a Nespresso virtuloine simply for the fact that it affords me a certain level of convenience that I require, and I believe that to be the target market for such machines. Convenience over taste. Doesn’t mean it tastes bad. It tastes great.
I found another word I say wrong, thanks for bringing that to my attention! I was raised by a Korean mom so I say all kinds of words close but weird LOL
compared to instant coffee/dried coffee. This pods is a fantastic choice! If you compare a real espresso from a espressomachine and a grinder for ex $ 1,500 - 2,000, the comparison will be dishwasher - espresso! And the cost will be a tenth of what a pods cost...
Hey Everyone, if you're coming here to say ESPRESSO NOT ExPreSSo, I know I say espresso weird now.

Will enjoy on your time off.
I never knew there was an expiration date. Good to know you can email them if you get an expired sleeve. Thanks
Nespresso recommend descaling a Nespresso machine after every 400-600 capsules, or at least every 6 months.
This review was really helpful as I'm thinking about becoming a first time Nespresso owner. Have you had problems with water leakage? I saw a concerning number of comments on their site.
I just got mine as a gift and wow I’m very impressed and coffee take amazing .. it cheaper then Starbucks and with COVID this is a great alternative.. love the coffee
Great review !! Short and sweet and too the point
Great review thanks just purchased mine today 😍
I just received mine and LOVE it. I also have a refillable capsule and use fresh ground coffee in it. Takes it to the next level.
What's this refillable capsule? The pod cost is the only thing holding me back on this
Where did you get the refillable capsule?
@@jkevinn12 Amazon. the stainless steel version also the refill kit. Both work well.
@@MrUltimateX the nespresso vertuo line is more $$$ then the original it also produces amazing coffee. If you invest the refill system or reusable pod, it makes it worth it. I still buy new on sale or special but been very happy
@@mmstep5150 That's good to hear! I'm super bored of my pour over coffee. Going to try and score a machine on sale this holiday!
Yes, I have one. The Best for my household.
Great coffee
Great review, you covered all the essentials. :) Thank you!
Very well writ Jack, congrats.
carry a baggage full of capsules back from europe, half the price of US..
I did enjoy your review! It was honest and spot on. I recently purchased the same model and color and agree on all fronts!
Terrific review. You’re one of the few people that actually understands what these machines are and aren’t.
A nice guy, pleasant to look at and listen to. Well done for a great job!
I got one this year and its great! PODs are about $1 a piece which is less then getting Starbucks. Very premium and the coffee is WAY better then anything I got out of my Keurig. Great gift for a coffee connoisseur.
1 $ a piece is pretty significant lol
Vertuoline has made me from a non coffee drinker, into a coffee drinker!
Same!
Nice job... overall, a very thorough overview.
LOL
So how do u make your coffe now ? Im about to buy one but your method sounds better whay do i need
No one in my region says es-presso, and it has a HIGH Italian population (many speaking Italian as a first language).
Amazon has metal reusable capsules where you can use your own coffee grounds!!
What is your reusable pod called and where did you get it from?
@@vintagedesert I can't remember, I just typed in "stainless steel reusable nespresso pod" on Amazon and got the one with the most/best reviews
I’m not sure if you can use a reusable pod with this model.
I’m looking to buy a Nespresso and this was VERY helpful, thank you!
Me too I have 3 Keurig’s the coffee is so bad I been buying cold brew and using it ! Sigh 😔
The original machine does Lungos too and not only expressos. Have one bought around 7 years back, still runs, never had issues with it - just do maintenance (descaling) every 4 months or so..
All things considered, one really can't go wrong with Nespresso.☕❤️
funny joke
I still enjoy my Keurig but i will purchase a Nespresso one day, even though the capsules are pricey
Those comercials that George Clooney use to do for the Nespresso still crack me up!😀
Paid 50 for mines and although I love the machine I really wish there were third party sellers bc the pods along with the delivery can be expensive. This month I’m going to try to go to Sur la table to see if they have them there to eliminate that pesky delivery fee!
Amber Heard You can get refillable pods for them, then you can use any coffee you would like, and it is MUCH MUCH cheaper
Bed bath and beyond has them as well as Costco
Starbucks have now bought out a vertuo line
great review 👏🏽
I loved how detailed this is! I'm looking for the right nespresso machine for me and this video was super helpful! Also, Marylander here too! I heard the accent when you said honeycomb lol.
Excellent review. You’ve sold me.
This was really helpful. Thank you.
I just got one yesterday. It comes within 2 days. If you drink one per day. I think it worth it. It costs around 0.7 cents per cup. I use one casual to two cups. The second cup will little thinner but it is still tasty for me.
very informative review - thank you!
Great video, but that Nordic Vanilla Princess Cake capsule sells for $20 each now, I couldn't stop looking at the capsule LOL

I own a keurig mini and only used it a few times and it currently sits on a shelf collecting dust. Ive been seeing a lot of people with nespresso
Paula what’s the difference?
Refilling is not an option, but the capsules are 100% recyclable.
Can we take a moment to appreciate that amazing plant.
It's not crema, though. It's aerated foam. They're produced via different methods which creates different texture and flavor. Crema is produced via carbon dioxide trapped in the coffee. The foam from a Nespresso is caused by the blender-like action of the spinning pod and aerated water.

Haha same. We have a boutique in our city and I've been today to use my free credit too. Got some cups and syrup plus 5 boxes of pods.
Where did u get it please?
Great overview ... they should make a ‘cleaning pod’ for annual maintenance.
Unfortunately a cleaning pod wouldn't be able to help clean your water lines. Which is what the descaling is for. :)
Although no water sits in the machine, as water passes through it can leave mineral build up over time.
Awesome review brother. Just returned my Walmart keurig today. Coffee tastes watered down and disappointing
Did u get the one with the milk frother and do you ever make ice coffee with your machine? Great review💕
you have a very calming voice
no he dont
It's neither calming nor alarming, his is just an ordinary voice.
Enjoyed video. How hard is it to find the pods? I currently have a Starbucks Verismo which I love, but they stopped selling the pods in the stores and I hate ordering them online.
Thank you! Have been looking for this all over
I just got mine at Williams Sonoma, on sale, and it came with a milk frothier.
I was going to buy one On sale before I heard you say “the beans in these capsules were ground up months ago”
I love the taste of the coffes, But only one thing that I am Not happy about and No ones talks about it......... I wish the coffe came out extremely hot ! To enjoy it... I have to basically finish it in less than three minutes because it’s not hot enough!!!!!
Beautiful addiction by Ale Valenciana turn it on, off then on again to let it heat up twice !!
@@angellinamango I agree... I'm doing the same thing too
I find myself having to rush the drinking because of this problem, too, but I've gotten used to it. I only switched from the Original Line because my partner likes long coffee, but I ended up liking it so much that I'm the one who uses it more.
I just bought one and I noticed it but I make nine iced so it's a good thing for me
Get a covered coffee mug.
Maybe a YETI brand, it keeps it hot for an hour!
FYI, official pronunciation: VER same as VERy (not like verrrb) TEW O 🤣
Also don’t use vinegar to descale! It’s not powerful enough! And it will taste terrible!! The descale solution uses citric acid which can descale in 5min vs 4hrs of soaking (not possible to soak internals)
Also I would actually recommend to buy from nespresso site, you always get a free gift or can use a coupon and can add the free recycle bags (don’t forget to add to cart). Amazon won’t provide the bags/provide free shipping.
Hey Jorge! Great video!
I am having a hard time choosing between a Nespresso machine and the Keurig K-Cafe machine.
I have had an nespresso membership since 2006 . Many good coffees but sick of all the dramas warm coffees over the years and high cost of pods. Looking at latest Breville Oracle Touch machine .
Excellent job Justin
Where did you get it from?
Hola, es normal que siga goteando la cafetera en la parte de adentro donde SE pone El pods y por donde sale El cafe Sigue goteando cafe incluso horas despues de haber hecho El cafe
Have you had any leaks with the reservoir? A lot of reviews are complaining about water leaks..
Big Ed mine was leaking for the first few days, and then I’m not sure what happened, it just stopped
Should I get the Vertuo as well having an original line on my possession?
Could you list the model number etc of the white machine your explaining ..it’s kinda confusing after watching the nespresso commercial ( Clooney) nespresso ( nestle) made one type of machine
Very good review, thank you. I've had the original Nespresso capsule system for many years and use it daily and not sure of extra benefits with this new system. One small thing that bothers me with old system is that the accessories like water tank etc aren't dishwasher proof and need to be washed by hand. Presume same on the newer Vertuo machines?
Yeah I agree - I just don’t understand the attraction with these models as they seem a lot more expensive.
Joseph Kaz how is your Essenza mini? How long have you had it?
Just so you know, they are referred to as capsules, not PODs. Also, the brewing process is called “centrifusion,” where it utilizes the centrifugal force to create the crema. Normally, crema is produced by multiple bars of pressure, however, if you want THAT process, the Nespresso OriginalLine has that ability.
How is the temperature of the coffee with this machine?
We are waiting for our shipment of coffee as I watch this video, can't wait
what kinds of nespresso pods you favourite?
Great review, thanks.
“... we chose this machine” not once did you say exactly “which” machine it is..great video please tell me the name and brand of the machine in video.
Nespresso VertuoPlus
It's worth it , easy and don't have to worry about being consistent
How do you clean them 🤔
Is water hot when dispensed from the machine? I've tried a nespresso machine form this line in the past and learned that the water was lukewarm. Has this changed?
Mas Fet, I have a similar machine to this from the VertuoPlus Deluxe line (it’s a little different shape) but everything is the same otherwise. I have always had very hot and tasty drinks from it. Not anything like scalding but the right temperature you’d want for a hot coffee or espresso and etc.
The pods have a bar code which programs the machine for both water quantity and temperature. I find its perfect every time.

Hi I have a question I need help I have this machine. And I left the lunge open over night. And now it won’t close. And my machine won’t even turn on. I don’t know what to do. Please someone help if anyone knows 😱😥
Good review. How do you get coffee to come out hotter? Also some recipe instructions would be great.
U need to prime the machine before use, so before using the machine everyday you prime it so it heats up.
You can't, it's the one downfall of Nespresso. I heat my cup up with hot tap water first then brew a cup.
Heating your cup with boiling water before you make your drink really helps
Nice Review. Can you compare this machine to a Verismo?
Nice day-date! I can’t really tell whether the bezel is fluted or not, is it a bark finish? (From one watch lover to another)
Great video, thanks!
As if you have not descaled your machine that’s probably why your coffee tastes acidic
yes! same experience here. doesn’t taste as amazing as it did when i first got it
The Coffee is hermetically sealed once it is grinded it is put in right away and no Air touches the coffee as it stated on nespresso site ...
It is
therefore carried out in a deoxygenated environment. The coffee is placed into a grinder and the degree of grinding is
calculated to suit the particular blend of coffee. Accurate and consistent grinding is imperative and is about the right balance
between various attributes that we wish to bring out: acidity, bitterness, body and aromatic notes. The grinding process
affects the flow time when preparing your coffee. For example, the more finely ground the coffee, the slower the speed with
which water will pass through it meaning the more full bodied and bitter the taste will be.
Ground.
Good review, but hearing you say EXpresso repeatedly is somewhat painful.
I found another word I say wrong, thanks for bringing that to my attention! I was raised by a Korean mom so I say all kinds of words close but weird LOL
Snowflake 🙄
compared to instant coffee/dried coffee. This pods is a fantastic choice! If you compare a real espresso from a espressomachine and a grinder for ex $ 1,500 - 2,000, the comparison will be dishwasher - espresso! And the cost will be a tenth of what a pods cost...
